• You can interrupt the alarm action (the playing of the radio or the signaling of the buzzer) by
pressing the pause button (8) (SNOOZE). About 9 minutes later the alarm will sound again.
This action can be repeated for up to 1 hour. After that the device will finally switch off. You
can also terminate the alarm action by pressing the off button (6) (AL/OFF) or setting the
auto switch (16) to the “OFF” position.
• If you leave the auto switch (16) in the “AUTO” or “BUZZ” position you will be woken up
again at the preset time 24 hours later. As soon as the auto switch (16) is set to the “AUTO”
or “BUZZ” position the alarm sign (1) will light up on the display. This is a signal for you that
the alarm function has been set and activated.
INTRODUCTION
Before using the radio alarm clock please read these instructions carefully so that you become
familiar with the operation and features of this device.

• Set the auto switch (16) to the “AUTO” or “BUZZ” position.
• Press down the “SLEEP” button (7). “0:59” will appear on the display. If you release the
button now, the radio will switch off automatically after 59 minutes. If you want the
operating time to be shorter, press the “SLEEP” button (7) and the “MINUTE” button (3)
simultaneously, until the desired operating time is displayed. If you want the operating time
to be longer, press down the “SLEEP” button (7) and the “HOUR” button (2) simultaneously.
This will increase the operating time by 1 hour (to a maximum of 1:59). Once the buttons
have been released the display will switch back to showing the current time.
CONNECTION
Connect the power cable (14) to an electrical socket. Please ensure that the voltage is correct
(230V/50 Hz) in order to avoid possible damage. When the clock is first connected and at every
power failure the display will start to flash.
• If you want to switch the radio off before the time set, press the pause button (8) (SNOOZE).
POWER FAILURE PROTECTION WITH BATTERY
RADIO RECEPTION
In order to avoid the time and alarm time stored being deleted during an interruption of the
electricity supply (e.g. through power cuts, lightning) the device comprises a special compart-
ment (13) at the back that can take a 9V block battery (battery not included). This battery will
cause the clock to continue running during a power failure (the radio and the LED display, how-
ever, will only work if connected to a mains supply). A new battery will bridge several hours of
power failure. It is recommended to check the battery about every 3 months by pulling the
mains plug out of the socket and putting it back in after one minute. If the display is flashing the
battery has to be replaced. Use leak-proof batteries in order to avoid damage to the device.
• Switch the auto switch (16) to the “ON” position.
• Switch the band selection (10) onto the desired wavelength (FM or AM).
• Use the tuning control (9) (TUNING) to set the station of your choice.
• Adjust the volume via the volume control (11).
• In order to optimize FM reception, extend the aerial (12) as far as possible and set it up.
• In order to optimize AM reception, turn the whole device into the best situation for reception.
• To switch the radio off set the auto switch (16) to the “OFF” position.
CONTROL OF TIME AND ALARM
• Control and adjustment of time:
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Only operate the device at the correct mains voltage (230 Volt/50 Hz).
• In order to avoid the risk of fire and shock hazard electric devices of this kind must not be
exposed to high temperatures or moisture. For longer and better operation never place the
device near water or radiators but in a position with good air circulation.
• If required, clean the housing only with a soft cloth (Ensure that the mains cable (14) is not
connected to the socket). Never use cleaning agents, since the housing might be damaged
otherwise.
• Never take off the lid of the housing, since the device contains electrical parts with high
mains voltage. In case of repairs please contact our customer service (for address and
telephone number see guarantee slip).
Press down the buttons “TIME” (4) and “HOUR” (2) simultaneously until the desired hour
appears on the display.
Press down the buttons “TIME” (4) and “MINUTE” (3) simultaneously until the desired
minute appears on the display.
• Control and adjustment of alarm time:
Press down the buttons “ALARM” (5) and “HOUR” (2) simultaneously until the desired hour
for the alarm appears on the display.
Press down the buttons “ALARM” (5) and “MINUTE” (3) simultaneously until the desired
minute for the alarm appears on the display.
• Using the dimmer (15) (HI/LO) you can control the brightness of the display.
• Protect from water droplets or splashes! The device must always be protected from water
droplets or splashes. Please do not place objects containing liquids, such as vases, on the
device.Ensure adequate circulation of air! The normal air circulation in and around the device
must not be obstructed in any way.
