Interference Information
This equipment generates and uses radio frequency energy which

REN Number
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, among other
information, the Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for the equipment.
The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may
connect to your telephone line and still have all of these devices ring
when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas,
the sum of the RENs of all devices connected to one line should not
exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices you may connect
to your line as determined by the REN, you should contact your local
telephone company.
REN Number is located on the cabinet bottom.

Installation
Digital Security System
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to protect
against false ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your
phone line.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at
frequencies that may cause or receive interference with nearby
TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To minimize or prevent such
interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be
placed near or on top of a TV, microwave ovens, or VCR. If such
interference continues, move the cordless telephone farther
away from these appliances.
Certain other communications devices may also use the 1.9
GHz frequency for communication, and, if not properly set,
these devices may interfere with each other and/or your new
telephone. If you are concerned with interference, please refer
to the owner’s manual for these devices on how to properly
set channels to avoid interference. Typical devices that may
use the 1.9 GHz frequency for communication include wireless
audio/video senders, wireless computer networks, multi-
handset cordless telephone systems, and some long-range
cordless telephone systems.

Installing the Phone
Installing the Handset Battery
NOTE: You must connect the handset battery before use.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire or personal
injury, use only the Thomson Inc. approved Nickel-
metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery model 5-2734, that is
compatible with this unit.
1. Locate battery which is packaged inside a plastic bag and is
separate from the handset.
ꢀ. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the handset.
ꢁ. Plug the battery pack cord into the jack inside the
compartment.
NOTE: To ensure proper battery installation, the connector
is keyed and can be inserted only one way.

5. Close the battery compartment by placing the handset back
cover slightly higher than the handset and then sliding the
cover down into position.

Base Station
1. Choose an area near an electrical outlet and a telephone wall
jack (RJ11C), and place your cordless telephone on a level
surface, such as a desktop or tabletop
NOTE: Model 27950 may also be wall mounted.

ꢀ. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack
on the base and the other end into a modular jack.
ꢁ. Plug the AC power adaptor into the electrical outlet and the DC
connector into the jack on the bottom/back of the base.
CAUTION: To reduce risk of personal injury, fire, or
damage use only the 5-2757 power adaptor listed in
the user’s guide. This power adaptor is intended to be
correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
Note: If you subscribe to DSL service through your
telephone line you will need to connect a DSL filter between
your phone and the wall jack (refer to DSL Filter Installation
section for more detail).
ꢂ. Place the handset in the base cradle. The charge/in use
indicator turns on, verifying the battery is charging.
5. Allow the phone to charge for 1ꢂ hours prior to first use. If
you don’t properly charge the phone, battery performance is
compromised.

DSL Filter Installation
If you subscribe to DSL service through your telephone line you will
need to connect a DSL filter between your phone and the wall jack
(refer to drawing for correct connection). You may order the filter
from our Accessories Information Section.

Wall Mounting (Applicable only for Model 27950)
1. Fully extend the handset wall mount latch and rotate 1ꢃ0°
ꢀ. Insert the handset wall mount cradle into the socket at the
back of the base. (To uninstall the wall mount cradle, turn over
the base, press and hold the button on the bottom of the base
and pull out the cradle at the same time.)
ꢁ. Plug the AC power adaptor into the electrical outlet and the DC
connector into the jack on the bottom of the base.

ꢂ. Plug one end of the straight telephone line cord into the jack on
the bottom of the base.
5. Feed the line cord through the groove and plug the end into the
modular telephone jack.
6. Slip the mounting holes (on the bottom of the base) over the
wall plate posts and firmly slide the unit down into place.
Answering System Setup
This section shows you how to set up your answering system to
receive incoming calls. Before you begin the set up process, you
must turn on the answering system.
•
Press the ANS ON/OFF button to turn the answering system
on and off. The Message Indicator lights when the answering
system is on. The indicator blinks when you have new
messages.
NOTE: The answering system displays “- -” when it is off.
Voice Instructions
If you need additional assistance; while in standby mode, press the
REVIEW button on the base and follow the voice instructions.
Speaker Volume
Use the VOLUME (5 or 6) buttons to adjust speaker volume
on the base to a comfortable level. L1 is the minimum speaker
volume and Lꢃ is the maximum.
Recording the Outgoing Announcement
For best results when recording, you should be about nine inches
from the microphone, and eliminate as much background noise as
possible.
1. Press and hold the ANNOUNCE button on the base until the
speaker announces “RECORD ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER TONE".

ꢀ. Begin speaking after you hear the beep.
ꢁ. Release the ANNOUNCE button when you finish your
announcement.
NOTE: If you choose not to record an outgoing
announcement, a default announcement plays instead.
To return to the default announcement after you have
recorded your own outgoing announcement, press the
announce button and release it when you hear the beep.
Or, press the delete button while the announcement is
reviewing.
NOTE: The maximum duration allowed for outgoing
message is 2 minutes.
Programming the Telephone
Standby Screen
The handset displays the handset name, date, time, signal and
battery status.
NOTE: If the clock is not set, the date and time display will
blink. The blinking will stop when user updates the date/
time from the Handset menu, or the base receives a call
with CID having date and time stamp.
Programming Functions
The system uses a menu structure to give you access to all of the
built-in features. You may program the following items in main
menu: Intercom, Setup HS, Setup BS, Date/Time, Registration and
Answer system.
NOTE: If the handset is not registered, or is out of range,
Setup BS and Date/Time are not programmable, and
Unavailable displays as you try to enter these two menus.

NOTE: During programming, you may press the MUTE/
ringer on/off button at any time to exit the sub-menu
and return to the main menu, or press FLASH/exit to exit
programming and return to standby screen.
NOTE: If no key is pressed for 60 seconds, the handset will
automatically exit programming and return to standby screen.
Handset Setup
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button to go to the main menu.
ꢁ. Press CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Setup HS.
ꢂ. Press MENU button to confirm and you may program the
following items: Ring Volume, Tones, Auto Talk, Handset Name
and Language.
Language
From the Setup HS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Language
sub-menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu.
ꢁ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to select English, Français or
Espanol. The default setting is English.
ꢂ. Press the MENU button to save your selection.
Ring Volume
There are ꢂ volume levels for your selection. They are Volume 1 to
ꢁ and Ringer off respectively.
From the Setup HS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Ring Volume
sub-menu.

- ) button to scroll to your selection. The default setting is VOL 3.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button to save your selection and Saved shows

NOTE: Ringer can be disabled by pressing the MUTE/ringer
on/off button in standby mode, please refer to “Ringer
On/Off”.
Tones
From the Setup HS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Tones sub-
menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to confirm and you may program the
following items: Low Battery, No Coverage and Key Tone.
ꢁ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the item you want
to program and press MENU button to enter.
Low Battery - You may set the warning beep to “On” when your
handset battery is low, so as to alert you to charge the battery.
Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to On or Off, then
press MENU button to save the setting. The default setting is
On.
No Coverage - You may set the warning beep to “On” or “Off”
when the handset is out of range. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - )
button to scroll to On or Off, then press MENU button to save
the setting. The default setting is On.
NOTE: When the handset is in the idle (off) mode and is out
of range from the base unit the display shows Searching. If
the TALk/END button is pressed, the display briefly shows
Unavailable then returns to Searching.

key Tone - You may set the key tone to “On” or “Off” when you
press buttons. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to On
or Off, then press MENU button to save the setting. The default
setting is On.
Auto Talk
This option allows you to pick up the handset from base to answer
an incoming call without pressing the TALk/END button.
From the Setup HS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Auto Talk sub-
menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu. Use the CID/VOL ( + or
- ) button to scroll to your selection. The default setting is On.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button to save your selection.
Handset Name
From the Setup HS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Handset
name sub-menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu. The default setting is
Handset.
ꢁ. Use the touch-tone pad to enter a name (up to 1ꢁ characters).
More than one letter is stored in each of the number keys. For
example, to enter Bill Smith, press the ꢀ key twice for the letter
B. Press the ꢂ key ꢁ times for the letter I. Press the 5 key ꢁ times
for the letter L. Press the 5 key ꢁ times for the second letter
L, and press the 1 key to insert a space between the first and
last name. Press the 7 key ꢂ times for the letter S; press the 6
key once for the letter M; press the ꢂ key ꢁ times for the letter
I; press the ꢃ key for the letter T; press the ꢂ key twice for the
letter H.

NOTE: If you make a mistake, press CID/VOL ( + or - ) button
to move the cursor forward or backward, then use the
MUTE/ringer on/off button to backspace and delete one
character at a time.
NOTE: * key is a function key to toggle between the upper
case and low case of characters during text edit.
ꢂ. Press the MENU button to save your name. You will hear a
confirmation tone and the display shows Saved.
Base Station Setup
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button to go to the main menu.
ꢁ. Press CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Setup BS.
ꢂ. Press MENU button to confirm and you may program the
following items: Area Code and Dial mode.
Area Code
The telephone uses the pre-programmed area code to determine
the number format to display when a valid Caller ID record is
received. The pre-programmed area code is also used for the
Dialback feature.
From the Setup BS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Area code
sub-menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu. Enter area code shows
in the display.
ꢁ. Use the touch-tone pad to enter your ꢁ-digit area code.
ꢂ. Press MENU button to save the setting.

Dial Mode
From the Setup BS Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Dial mode
sub-menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu and use the CID/VOL ( +
or - ) button to select Tone or Pulse.
ꢁ. Press MENU button to save your selection.
Date/Time
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button to go to the main menu and use CID/
VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Date/Time.
ꢁ. Press MENU button to enter the menu. Year 2007 shows in the
display.
ꢂ. Use the touch-tone pad to enter the last two digits of the
current year (range: 00 to 99).
5. Press MENU button to save the year setting and proceed to
date setting.
6. Date 01/01 shows in the display. Use the touch-tone pad to
enter two digits for current month and day respectively.
7. Press MENU button to save the month/date setting and
proceed to time setting.
ꢃ. Time 12:01p shows in the display. Use the touch-tone pad to
enter four digits for current time and use CID/VOL ( + or - )
button to toggle between “p” (pm) and “a” (am).
9. Press MENU button to save the setting. Saved shows in the
display.
NOTE: If you subscribe to Caller ID service, the current
date/time is set automatically when you receive your first
CID record and will override manually set date/time.

Registration
NOTE: The following procedures can ONLY be done with the
27950 or 27951 .
A cordless handset will not operate until it is registered to the base.
During the registration process, keep the handset near the base.
Up to ꢂ cordless handsets can be registered to one base.
NOTE: If a handset is not registered; Not Register flashes
on the display and if the TALk button on the handset is
pressed, it will display Unavailable.
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button to go to the main menu and use CID/
VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Registration.
ꢁ. Press MENU button to confirm and you may program the
following items: Register and Remove handset.
Register
From the Registration Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Register sub-
menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu.
ꢁ. Press and hold the PAGE button on base for 5 seconds.
ꢂ. The charge/in use indicator will flash slowly for ꢀ minutes which
shows the base is in registration mode.
5. If the registration is successful, the handset shows Successful
and emits a confirmation tone for ꢁ seconds.
6. If the registration is failed (i.e. timeout), the handset shows “No
base” and emits an error tone.

De-register
Deregistration cancels registration. During the deregistration
process, keep the handset near the base.
WARNING: It is not recommended that a handset be
deregistered unless absolutely necessary because
once a handset is deregistered, that handset’s
telephone features cannot be used until the handset
is re-registered.
From the Registration Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Remove
handset sub-menu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu. Remove handset?
shows on the display.
ꢁ. Press MENU button again to confirm de-registration.
Answer System
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button to go to the main menu.
ꢁ. Press CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Answer system.
ꢂ. Press MENU button to confirm and you may program the
following items: Answer on/off, Ring to answer, Voice language,
and Security code.
Answer on/off
This menu allows you to set the answering system on or off.
From the Answer System Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Answer on/off
submenu.

( + or - ) button to select On or Off.

Ring to Answer
This feature lets you select the number of times you want the
phone to ring before the Answering System answers a call.
From the Answer System Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Ring to
answer submenu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu and use the CID/VOL
( + or - ) button to scroll to your selection. The default setting is
5 Rings.

the 3rd ring if there are NEW messages in the answering
system, OR the unit answers after the 5th ring if there are
NO new messages. Then, when you access the answering
system from another remote location, you may hang up
after 4 rings to save long distance charges.
Voice Language
From the Answer System Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Voice
language submenu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to enter the menu and use the CID/VOL
( + or - ) button to select the desired language.
ꢁ. Press MENU button to save your selection.
NOTE: If the Voice Language of the answerer is changed, the
unit reverts back to the default OGA for that language.
Security Code
You can access the answering system from a tone dialing
telephone in another (remote) location. The security code is
required for remote access, and it prevents unauthorized access
to your answering system.

From the Answer System Menu:
1. Press the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the Security code
submenu.
ꢀ. Press MENU button to show the current security code on the
display.
ꢁ. Use the number keys to enter your new ꢁ-digit security code.
The default setting is 1 2 3.
ꢂ. Press MENU button to save the setting.
Telephone Operation
Charge/In Use Indicator on Base
The charge/in use indicator on the base will flash to alert you to
an incoming call, during paging, or registration. The indicator will
remain lit when a handset is in the base charging or when the line
is in use.
Making a Call
1. Press the TALk/END button. Dial the desired number.
- OR -
Dial the number first, then press the TALk/END button.
ꢀ. When finished, press the TALk/END button or put the handset
back into the base cradle to hang up.
NOTE: If you want to delete the pre-dial number you
entered, press the MUTE/ringer on/off button until all of the
digits are erased.
Answering Calls
1. When the phone rings, press the TALk/END button.

NOTE: If you have turned the Auto Talk function on, you can
pick up the handset from the base to answer the incoming
call directly, without pressing any buttons.
NOTE: Adjust the handset volume by pressing the CID/VOL (
+ or - ) button during a call.
NOTE: If you press the SPEAkER button to answer a call
while the handset is not in the base cradle, the call will not
be ended even when you place the handset back into the
base cradle during the conversation.
Inserting a Pause in the Dialing Sequence
Press the #PAUSE button twice to insert a delay in dialing
sequence when a pause is needed to wait for a dial tone (for
example, after you dial 9 for an outside line, or to wait for a
computer access tone.) Pause shows in the display as a P, and
each pause counts as one digit in the dialing sequence.
Redial
To quickly redial a number you dialed:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the TALk/END button.
ꢁ. Press the REDIAL button first, then use the CID/VOL ( + or - )
button to select the desired redial number.
NOTE: You may choose from 10 last dialed numbers.

7. After editing, press TALk/END to dial the modified redial

Storing a Redial Record in Phone Book
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the REDIAL button first, then use the CID/VOL ( + or - )
button to scroll to the desired redial number.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button.
ꢂ. Press CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Save number.
5. Press the MENU button to enter edit mode.
6. Enter name shows in the display. Input a name. Please refer to
section “Handset Name” for name editing method.

Deleting a Redial Record
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).

button to select the desired redial number.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button.
ꢂ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Delete?.
5. Press the MENU button to delete the record showing in the
display. Confirm? shows in the display.
6. Press the MENU button again to confirm the deletion. Deleted
shows in the display.
NOTE: Press the FLASH/exit button to return to the standby
mode without deleting any redial records.
Deleting All Redial Records
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to display any redial record.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button.
ꢂ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Delete all?.
5. Press the MENU button. Confirm? shows in the display.

Call Timer
After you press the TALk/END button on the handset, the built-in call
timer shows on the display and counts the length of time of the call in
minutes and seconds.

Auto Standby
If you place the handset in the cradle while the handset is off the
hook (during a call), the call is automatically disconnected.
Ringer On/Off
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MUTE/ringer on/off button to switch the ringer on or
off.
NOTE: If you turn the ringer OFF, RINGER OFF shows in the
display.
Flash
If you subscribe to the combined Call Waiting Caller ID service from
your local telephone company, you will receive Caller ID information
(if available) on Call Waiting calls. During a phone call, you will hear
a beep to indicate another call is waiting on the line and Caller ID
information for the waiting call shows on the handset display.
•
To connect to the waiting call, press the FLASH/exit button on
the handset, and your original call is put on hold.
•
To switch between the two calls, press the FLASH/exit button.
TIP: Do not press the TALk/END button on the handset to
activate a custom calling service, such as call waiting, or
call will disconnect.
Mute
To have a private, off-line conversation, use the MUTE feature. The
party on the telephone line cannot hear you, but you can hear
them.
1. Press the MUTE/ringer on/off button. The handset display
shows MUTE.
ꢀ. Press the MUTE/ringer on/off button to cancel and return to
your phone conversation.

Page
The page feature helps you locate a misplaced handset.
1. Press the PAGE button on the base. The charge/in use indicator
on the base flashes; the handset beeps and Page from base
shows in the handset display.
ꢀ. To cancel the page, press the PAGE button on the base, or press
any key on the handset. Otherwise the paging will last for ꢀ
minutes.
Receiver Volume Control
When the handset is ON (in talk mode) you may adjust the receiver
volume by pressing the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button. There are five
volume levels to choose from. VOL 1 is minimum and VOL 5 is
maximum.
Intercom Operation
The intercom feature allows you to have a conversation with
another registered handset without tying up the telephone line,
allowing you to still receive incoming calls.
NOTE: The function is applicable only with additional
handsets.
Handset to Handset Intercom Call
1. Make sure the originating phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the MENU button and use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to
scroll to Intercom.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button to enter the menu. INT - Number?
shows on the display.
ꢂ. Use the touch-tone pad to input the number of the handset you
want to page. (For example: press 1 to page handset 1)
5. The receiving handset is paged and emits a tone.

9. When finished, press the TALk/END on either handset to
deactivate the intercom.
Three-way Conferencing
You may have a ꢁ-way conversation using the handset, the base
and an open line.
1. When the phone rings, press the TALk/END button on the
handset and press the SPEAkER button on the base.
ꢀ. Conference shows on the handset display. And when the
conference starts, all the ꢁ parties will hear conference alert
tone.
ꢁ. When finished, press the TALk/END button (or put the handset
back into the base cradle) and press the SPEAkER button again
to hang up.
NOTE: If the phone system is expanded to more than one
handset, only 2 handsets or 1 handset and the base will
be allowed in a telephone line conference. When the third
handset trys to join the conference, Unavailable will be
shown with error beeps. When a handset is in use (in talk
mode), the other handset(s) will show Line in use.

Caller ID (CID)
IMPORTANT: In order to use this unit’s Caller ID features,
you must subscribe to either the standard Name/Number
Caller ID Service or Call Waiting Caller ID Service. To
know who is calling while you are on the phone, you must
subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID Service.
This unit receives and displays information transmitted by your
local phone company. This information can include the phone
number, date, and time; or the name, phone number, date,
and time. The incoming date/time information will override the
telephone Date/Time setting.

Call Waiting Caller ID
Provided you subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID service from your
phone company; if you receive an incoming call and you are using
the GE multi handset system, a beep indicates the presence of a
Call Waiting call on the line. The Call Waiting Caller ID information
will be displayed and stored in the history of all handsets in the
system.
•
When you hear the call waiting beep in the handset receiver,
press the FLASH/exit button to put the current call on hold and
answer the incoming call. Press FLASH/exit again to return to
the original call.

Receiving CID Records
When you receive a call, the Caller ID information is transmitted
between the first and second ring. The Caller ID information
appears on the display while the phone rings, giving you a chance
to monitor the information and decide whether or not to answer
the call.
Storing CID Records (In CID Memory)
If you are not at home or cannot answer, your telephone’s Caller
ID memory stores the data for the ꢁ0 most recent calls (up to ꢀ0
digits and 15 characters for each record) you received so you can
see who called while you were unavailable. And the display shows
New calls, as a reminder that there are unanswered calls. When
the ꢁ1st call is received, the oldest Caller ID record (1st call) is
automatically deleted.
You may review the stored information at any time. Calls received
since your last review show as NEW in the display. Calls that have
not been previously reviewed but were received from the same
number more than once show as RPT in the display.
Reviewing CID Records
As calls are received and stored, the display is updated to let you
know how many calls have been received. To scroll CID records:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the CID/VOL ( + ) button to review the oldest call and
scroll toward the most recent calls.
ꢁ. Press the CID/VOL ( - ) button to review the newest call and
scroll toward the older calls.
NOTE: When you reach the end of records, --End of list-- shows
in the display.
NOTE: If no calls have been received, Empty shows in the
display for 2 seconds at the time the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button is
pressed.

the incoming caller’s stored phone number before making
the call, press the FORMAT button to adjust the number,
and try again.

You may also store CID information in the Phone Book.
NOTE: It is important that you format CID records
correctly BEFORE storing in Phone Book as you cannot
reformat CID records stored in Phone Book.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to the desired CID
record.
ꢁ. Press MENU button.
ꢂ. Use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to scroll to Save number.
5. Press MENU button to enter edit mode. You may now change

NOTE: If the CID record does not include a name. Enter

NOTE: If Memory full shows in the display and the unit
emits 3 beeps, you should delete one or more unnecessary
records and repeat above steps to continue the call record
storage.
NOTE: Press the FLASH/exit button to keep the previous
setting (making no changes) and return to the standby
mode.
NOTE: If the selected CID record contains any information
that is non-numeric, the unit will not allow this record to
transfer to the internal user memory.

Phone Book
Each handset can store up to fifty ꢀꢂ-digit numbers with up to
15-character names in memory for quick dialing. The records are
stored by alphabetic ascending order.
Adding Phone Book Entries
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
ꢀ. Press the ph. book button.
ꢁ. Press the MENU button and use the CID/VOL ( + or - ) button to
scroll Add new.
ꢂ. Press the MENU button. Enter number shows in the display.
5. Use the touch-tone pad to input a telephone number.

number if necessary.

Chain Dialing from Phone Book
Use this feature to make calls which require a sequence of numbers,
such as a calling card number used for a frequently called long
distance number.
You can store each part of the dialing sequence (such as Long
Distance Access Number, Authorization Code, and a frequently called
long distance number) in the phone book and simply repeat step ꢀ
through ꢂ in “Dial a phone book record while in talk mode” to dial
them one by one.

Answering System Operation
This section discusses the buttons and features on the answering
system.
Message Indicator
The message counter gives you a numeric display of how many
messages you have and some other information of the answering
system.
a) A number displayed without flashing -- No new messages.
The number is the total number of old messages.
b) A flashing number displayed -- There are new messages. The
number is the total number of old and new messages.
c) Two bars - - display steadily -- Answerer is off.
d) F flashing on the display -- Memory is full.
e) CL flashing on the display -- Clock is not set since power up or
after power failure.
f ) Six horizontal bars flashing on the display – MEMO is
recording.
g) AN flashing on the display – The system is answering an
incoming call and recording an incoming call.
h) LA displays steadily -- The answering system is being
accessed remotely.
i) SP displays steadily -- Base speaker is turned on.
j) “Ar” flashing on base -- An OGA is recording or playing back.
NOTE: While the messages are playing, the message
counter will display the messages in the order they were
received.
NOTE: The maximum recording time for each message is 2
minutes.

Messages Playback
The message counter lets you know when you have message(s)
or new message(s). To play the messages, press the play/stop
button.
While a message is playing, you may do the following:

To erase all previously played messages in a mailbox

Answering System Remote Access
You can access your answering system from any touch-tone
phone by entering your ꢁ-digit security code during the playing
of outgoing announcement or after you hear the outgoing
announcement.
1. Dial the telephone number to which the answering system is
connected.

after you hear the tone.

Memory Full
When answering system memory is full, the system answers after
10 rings, announces “Memory full” and waits for you to enter
ꢁ-digit security code. If you don’t enter the security code within 7
seconds, the phone hangs up.
You should erase some messages so the answering system can
record new messages.
NOTE: The unit also answers after the 10th ring if it is
turned off. To access the answering system, enter your 3-
digit security code.
Leaving a Memo
This feature lets you record a memo up to ꢀ minutes long to store
as an incoming message.
1. Press and hold the MEMO button
ꢀ. Begin speaking after it announces “Record message”.
ꢁ. Release the MEMO button when finished.
Changing the Battery
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire or personal
injury, use only the Thomson Inc. approved Nickel-
metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery model 5-2734, that is
compatible with this unit.
1. Make sure the telephone is OFF (not in TALK mode) before you
replace battery.
ꢀ. Remove the battery compartment door.
ꢁ. Disconnect the battery plug from the jack inside the battery
compartment and remove the battery pack from the handset.
ꢂ. Insert the new battery pack and connect the cord to the jack
inside the battery compartment.

5. Put the battery compartment door back on.
6. Place handset in the base or handset charge cradle to charge.
Allow the handset battery to properly charge (for 14 hours)
prior to first use or when you install a new battery pack. If
you do not properly charge the phone, battery performance
will be compromised.

Telephone Solutions
No dial tone

Check or repeat installation steps:
Make sure the base power cord is connected to a working
electrical outlet.
Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the base
and the wall jack.

Connect another phone to the same jack. If it doesn’t work,
the problem might be your wiring or local service.
The handset may be out of range of the base. Move closer to
the base.
Make sure the battery is properly charged (for 1ꢂ hours).
Dial tone is ok, but can’t dial out
•
Make sure the type of phone service you are subscribed to is
TONE or PULSE, and that the unit is SET TO MATCH the dialing
mode.
Handset does not ring
•

Make sure the handset ringer is set to on.
The handset may be out of range of the base. Move closer to
the base.

You may have too many extension phones on your line. Try
unplugging some extensions.
Check for a dial tone. If no dial tone is heard, see “No dial
tone”.

General Product Care
To keep your unit working and looking good, follow these

NOTE SUR L’INSTALLATION: Certains téléphones sans fil
fonctionnent à des fréquences qui peuvent causer ou subir
de l’interférence de téléviseurs, fours à micro-ondes et
magnétoscopes situés à proximité. Pour réduire ou éviter cette
interférence, la base de votre téléphone sans fil ne devrait pas
être placée près ou sur un téléviseur, un four à micro-ondes
ou un magnétoscope. Si l’interférence persiste, déplacez le
téléphone sans fil à une plus grande distance de ces appareils.
D’autres appareils de communications peuvent aussi utiliser
la fréquence de 1.9 GHz pour communiquer et si ces appareils

Installation du Téléphone
Installation de la pile du combiné
REMARQUE : Vous devez brancher la pile du combiné avant
de l’utiliser.
ATTENTION: Pour réduire le risque d’incendie ou de
blessures, utilisez seulement la batterie approuvé
par Thomson Inc. d’hydrure de Nickel-métal (Ni-MH)
du model 5-2734, qui est compatible avec cette
unité.
1. Repérez la pile qui est emballée dans un sac de plastique
séparément du combiné.
ꢀ. Repérez le compartiment de la pile à l’arrière du combiné.
ꢁ. Raccordez le connecteur de la pile dans la prise située à
l’intérieur du compartiment.
REMARQUE : Pour assurer une installation correcte de la pile,
le connecteur est claveté et ne peut être inséré que dans une
seule position.
ꢂ. Insérez le bloc-piles.

5. Refermez le compartiment de la pile en plaçant le couvercle

Poste de Base
1. Choisissez un endroit près d’une prise de courant et d’une prise
téléphonique murale (RJ11C) et placez le téléphone sans fil sur
une surface plane, comme un bureau ou une table, ou fixez-le
au mur.
REMARQUE : Le modèle 27950 peut aussi être installé sur un
mur.

ꢀ. Branchez une extrémité du cordon téléphonique dans la prise
TEL LINE situé sous la base et l’autre extrémité dans une prise
murale modulaire.
ꢁ. Branchez l’adaptateur dans la prise de courant et le connecteur
c.c. dans la prise situé/derrière sous la base.
MISE ENGARDE : Pour réduire le risque de blessure,
d’incendie ou de dommage matériel, n’utilisez que
l’adaptateur 5-2757 mentionné dans le guide de
l’utilisateur. Cet adaptateur de courant doit être
correctement placé en position verticale ou monté
sur le sol.
REMARQUE : Si vous êtes abonné au service de ligne d’abonné
numérique (DSL) de votre compagnie de téléphone, vous
devez installer un filtre DSL entre votre téléphone et la prise
téléphonique murale. (consultez la rubrique Installation du
filtre DSL pour plus d’informations) .

meilleur angle de vision lorsque l’appareil est sur un bureau.
5. Laissez le téléphone se charger pendant 1ꢂ heures avant
l’utilisation initiale. Si vous ne chargez pas correctement le
téléphone, le rendement de la pile sera compromis.
Installation du filtre DSL
Si vous êtes abonné au service de ligne d’abonné numérique
(DSL) de votre compagnie de téléphone, vous devez installer un
filtre DSL entre votre téléphone et la prise téléphonique murale
(consultez l’illustration pour le brancher correctement). Vous
pouvez commander le filtre dans la rubrique d’information sur nos
accessoires.

Montage au Mur
1. Sortez entièrement le loquet du combiné pour installation sur un
mur et tournez-le de 1ꢃ0°.
ꢀ. Insérez le socle du combiné pour installation sur un mur dans la
douille située sous la base. (pour retirer le socle pour installation
sur un mur, renversez la base puis appuyez et gardez enfoncé
le bouton situé sous la base et retirez le loquet en même temps.
ꢁ. Branchez l’adaptateur dans la prise de courant et le connecteur
c.c. dans le accrocher à la base.

ꢂ. Branchez une extrémité du cordon téléphonique non spiralé
dans la prise situé sous la base.
5. Faites courir le cordon dans le canal et branchez l’extrémité
dans la prise modulaire.
6. Glissez les trous de montage (à l’arrière de la base) sur les tiges
de la plaque murale et abaissez l’appareil en place (plaque
murale non incluse.)
Programmation du Repondeur
Cette section indique comment programmer le répondeur pour
recevoir les appels. Allumez le répondeur avant d’entreprendre la
programmation.
•
Appuyez sur le bouton ANS on/off pour allumer et éteindre le
répondeur. L’indicateur messages s’allume quand le répondeur
est en fonction. L’indicateur clignote si vous avez de nouveaux
messages.
REMARQUE : Le répondeur affiche “- -” quand il est éteint.
Instructions Vocales
Si vous avez besoin d’aide supplémentaire, appuyez sur le bouton
REVIEW sur le socle en mode attente et suivez les instructions
vocales.
Volume du Haut-parleur
Utilisez les boutons de VOLUME (+ ou -) pour régler le volume du
haut-parleur de la base à un niveau agréable. L1 est le volume
minimal du haut-parleur et Lꢃ, le volume maximal.

Enregistrement du Message D’accueil
Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats lorsque vous enregistrez,
placez-vous à environ neuf pouces du microphone et essayez le
plus possible d’éliminer le bruit de fond.
Vous pouvez enregistrer ꢀ messages d’accueil sur le répondeur ou
sélectionner le message par défaut
1. Assurez-vous que le répondeur est à ACTIVÉ.
ꢀ. Appuyez et gardez enfoncé le bouton ANNOUNCE sur le socle
jusqu’à ce que l’appareil émette le message “ENREGISTREZ LE
MESSAGE D’ACCEUIL APRES LA TONALITE”.
ꢁ. Commencez à parler après le bip.
ꢂ. Relâchez le bouton ANNOUNCE quand vous avez terminé le
message d’accueil.
REMARQUE: Si vous décidez de ne pas enregistrer un message
d’accueil, un message par défaut jouera. Pour revenir au
message d’accueil par défaut après avoir enregistré votre
propre message d’accueil,’appuyez et gardez enfoncé le
bouton ANNOUNCE jusqu’à ce que l’appareil émette une
tonalité. Ou appuyez sur le bouton DELETE pendant l’écoute
du message.
REMARQUE: La durée du message d’accueil enregistré est
limitée à 2 minutes.
Programmation du Telephone
Écran D’attente
Le combiné affiche le nom du combiné, la date, l’heure, l’état du
signal et l’état de la pile.
REMARQUE : si l’heure n’est pas réglée, l’affichage de
la date et de l’heure clignotera. L’affichage cessera de
clignoter lorsque la date et l’heure seront réglées par le
menu du combiné ou lorsque l’appareil recevra un appel ILA
comprenant la date et l’heure.

Fonctions de Programmation
Le système utilise un menu structuré pour vous permettre d’avoir
accès à toutes ses fonctionnalités. Vous pouvez programmer les
caractéristiques suivantes à partir du menu principal: Intercom
(Interphone), Setup HS (Config. combiné), Setup BS (Configurer BS),
Date/Time (Date/Heure), Registration (Enregistrement) and Answer
machine (Répondeur).
REMARQUE: si les deux combinés ne sont pas enregistrés ou
sont hors de portée, les fonctions Configurer BS et Date/
Heure ne peuvent être programmées et le message Non
disponible est affiché lorsque vous essayez d’ouvrir les deux
menus correspondants.
REMARQUE: vous pouvez appuyer à tout moment sur le
bouton MUTE/ringer on/off pendant la programmation pour
sortir du sous-menu et revenir au menu principal, ou appuyez
sur le bouton FLASH/exit pour sortir de la programmation et
revenir à l’écran d’attente.
REMARQUE: si aucune touche n’est enfoncée pendant
60 secondes, le combiné sortira automatiquement de la
programmation et reviendra à l’écran d’attente.
Paramètres du Combiné
1. Assurez-vous que le téléphone est DÉSACTIVÉ (pas en mode
conversation).
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour aller au menu principal .

alarme.
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour ouvrir ce menu et utilisez

SAVED est affiché.
REMARQUE: La sonnerie peut être désactivée en appuyant sur
le bouton MUTE/ringer on/off en mode d’attente; consultez la
partie “Interrupteur de La Sonnerie”.
Tonalité de la Sonnerie
Du Menu Config. combiné:

Pile faible - Vous pouvez activer l’avertisseur sonore de pile
faible pour vous rappeler que la pile doit être chargée. Utilisez le
bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour sélectionner On ou Off, appuyez
ensuite sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer la configuration.
Le paramètre par défaut est Off.
Hors couverture - Vous pouvez activer ou désactiver
l’avertisseur sonore pour vous avertir si le combiné est hors de
portée. Utilisez le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour sélectionner On
ou Off, appuyez ensuite sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer la
configuration. Le paramètre par défaut est Off.
REMARQUE : Lorsque le combiné est en attente (fermé) et
hors de portée de la base, l’affichage indique Recherche base.
Lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END, l’affichage
indique brièvement Non disponible et revient à Recherche
base.
Tonalité touche - Vous pouvez activer ou désactiver les bips
des touches lorsue vous appuyez sur une touche. Utilisez le
bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour sélectionner On ou Off, appuyez
ensuite sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer la configuration.
Le paramètre par défaut est On.
Réponse Auto
Cette option vous permet de soulever le combiné de la base pour
prendre un appel sans avoir à appuyer sur le bouton TALK/END.

6. Date 01/01 apparaît dans l’afficheur. Utilisez le clavier
pour saisir les deux chiffres du mois actuel et de la date
respectivement.
7. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer la configuration
du mois et de la date et pour passer à la configuration de
l’heure.
ꢃ. Heure 12:01p se muestra en la pantalla. Utilisez le clavier pour
saisir les quatre chiffres de l’heure actuelle et utilisez le bouton

REMARQUE : Si vous êtes abonnés au service d’identification
de l’appelant, la date et l’heure courantes sont réglées
automatiquement lorsque vous recevez les premières
informations d’identification de l’appelant et remplacent la
date et l’heure réglées manuellement.
Enregistrement
REMARQUE : Les procédures suivantes ne peuvent s’effectuer
qu’avec les combinés supplémentaires 27950 et 27951.
Un combiné sans cordon ne peut fonctionner tant qu’il n’est pas
enregistré à la base. Pendant le processus d’enregistrement,
gardez le combiné près de la base. Vous pouvez enregistrer
jusqu’à quatre combinés sur une base.
REMARQUE : Si un combiné n’est pas enregistré, le message
Pas enregistré clignote sur l’affichage; si vous appuyez sur le
bouton TALK du combiné, ce dernier affiche Non disponible.

5. Si l’enregistrement réussit, le combiné affiche le message
Réussi et émet une tonalité de confirmation pendant trois
secondes.
6. Si l’enregistrement ne réussit pas (par dépassement du délai
par exemple), le combiné affiche Pas de base et émet une
tonalité d’erreur.
Desenregistrement
Le désenregistrement annule l’enregistrement. Pendant le
processus de désenregistrement, gardez le combiné près de la
base.
AVERTISSEMENT: Il n’est pas recommandé de
désenregistrer un combiné à moins que cela ne
soit absolument nécessaire parce qu’un combiné
est désenregistré, que les fonctions du combiné
sont inutilisables tant que le combiné n’a pas été
réenregistré.
Du Menu Enregistrement:
1. Appuyez sur le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour afficher Enlevez
combiné.

Sélection de Sonnerie
Cette caractéristique vous permet de choisir le nombre de fois que
l’appareil sonnera avant que le répondeur prenne l’appel.
Du Menu Répondeur:
1. Appuyez sur le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour afficher Rép
après sonn.
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour ouvrir ce menu et utilisez
le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour afficher votre sélection. Le
paramètre par défaut est 5 Sonneries.
ꢁ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer votre sélection.
REMARQUE: Si vous sélectionnez Toll Saver (TS) (Économiseur
d’interurbains ÉI), le répondeur prend l’appel après la
troisième sonnerie s’il y a de NOUVEAUX messages OU après
la cinquième sonnerie s’il n’y a PAS de nouveaux messages.
Cette caractéristique permet de vérifier s’il y a de nouveaux
messages à partir d’un autre téléphone et de raccrocher à la
cinquième sonnerie pour économiser les frais d’interurbains.

Sélection de La Langue du Message D’accueil
Du Menu Répondeur:
1. Appuyez sur le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour afficher Langue.

bouton 6 ou 5 pour choisir la langue désirée.

REMARQUE : Si la langue de la voix du répondeur est modifiée,
l’appareil utilise le message d’accueil par défaut pour cette
langue.
Code de Sécurité
Vous avez accès au répondeur depuis tout appareil à tonalités
situé à distance. Le code de sécurité est requis pour l’accès à
distance afin d’empêcher l’accès non autorisé au répondeur.
Du Menu Répondeur:
1. Appuyez sur le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) pour afficher Code
sécurité.
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour ouvrir ce menu. Le code de
sécurité courant apparaît dans l’afficheur.
ꢁ. Utilisez le clavier pour entrer le nouveau code de sécurité à ꢁ
chiffres. Le paramètre par défaut est 123.
ꢂ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour enregistrer votre sélection.
Fonctionnement du Telephone
L’indicateur Charge/In Use sur la Base
Le témoin charge/in use de la base clignotera pour vous avertir
d’un appel entrant pendant la recherche ou l’enregistrement. Le
témoin restera allumé lorsqu’un combiné est en mode de recharge
sur la base ou quand la ligne est occupée.

Faire un Appel
1. Appuyer sur le bouton TALK/END et composez le numéro
désiré.
- OU -
Composez le numéro et appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END pour
prévisualiser l’appel.
ꢀ. Pour raccrocher, appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END ou placez le
combiné sur le poste de base.
REMARQUE: si vous voulez supprimer le numéro en
précomposition que vous avez saisi, appuyez sur le bouton

Insertion D’une Pause dans la Sequence

Appuyez sur le bouton #PAUSE du clavier numérique du combiné
pour insérer une pause dans la séquence de composition quand
une pause est nécessaire pour attendre un signal de manœuvre
(par exemple, après avoir fait le 9 pour obtenir une ligne extérieure
ou pour attendre une tonalité d’accès à un ordinateur). La pause
est affichée sous forme de la lettre P et chaque pause compte

Minuterie D’appel
Après que vous avez appuyé sur le bouton TALK/END du combiné,

Attente Automatique
Si vous déposez le combiné sur le socle pendant que le
combiné est décroché (pendant un appel), le combiné coupe
automatiquement la communication.
Interrupteur de La Sonnerie
1. Assurez-vous que le téléphone est DÉSACTIVÉ (pas en mode

REMARQUE: si vous placez la sonnerie à OFF, le message

Flash
Si vous êtes abonné au service d’afficheur d’appel en attente
combiné offert par la compagnie de téléphone, vous recevrez
l’information d’appelant (s’il y a lieu) lors des appels en attente.
Pendant un appel, vous entendrez un bip pour indiquer qu’un
autre appel est en attente sur la ligne et l’information de l’appelant
en attente apparaît dans l’afficheur du combiné.

Pour prendre l’appel en attente, appuyez sur le bouton FLASH/
exit du combiné ; l’appel initial est alors mis en garde.

Commande de Volume du Recepteur
Lorsque le combiné est décroché (en mode conversation), vous
pouvez régler le volume du récepteur en appuyant sur le bouton
CID/VOL (+ ou -). Vous pouvez choisir parmi quatre niveaux
d’écoute. VOL 1 est l’intensité minimale, VOL 5 l’intensité maximale.
Fonctionnement de L’interphone

Interphone entre Deux Combinés
1. Assurez-vous que le combiné initiateur n’est PAS en fonction
(pas en mode conversation).
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU et utilisez le bouton CID/VOL (+
ou -) pour afficher Interphone.
ꢁ. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour ouvrir ce menu. INT -
Numéro ? apparaît dans l’afficheur.

voulez rechercher. (Exemple: appuyez sur 1 pour rechercher le
combiné 1.)
5. Le combiné recherché est rejoint et émet une tonalité.

6. Attendez que la personne au combiné récepteur appuie sur le
bouton TALK/END.
REMARQUE : Si le composé de réception ne répond pas
en 1 minute et 45 secondes, l’appel par l’intercom est

UNAVAILABLE.
7. Quand vous avez terminé, appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END de
l’un ou l’autre combiné pour désactiver l’interphone.
Conférence à Trois
Vous pouvez avoir une conférence à trois entre le combiné, la base
et une ligne ouverte.
1. Lorsque le téléphone sonne, appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END
du combiné et sur le bouton SPEAKER de la base.

IMPORTANT: Pour utiliser les dispositifs d’identification
de visiteur de cet appareil, vous devez être abonné au
service d’afficheur de nom/numéro standard ou au service
d’afficheur d’appel en attente. Pour savoir qui appelle
pendant que vous êtes au téléphone, vous devez être abonné
au service d’afficheur d’appel en attente.
Cet appareil reçoit et affiche l’information transmise par la
compagnie de téléphone. Cette information peut comprendre
le numéro de téléphone, la date et l’heure, ou le nom, le numéro
de téléphone, la date et l’heure. Les renseignements d’un appel
entrant à propos de la date et de l’heure modifieront les réglages
du téléphone.

Afficheur D’appel en Attente
Dans la mesure où vous êtes abonné au service d’afficheur
d’appel en attente offert par la compagnie de telephone; si vous
recevez un appel d’arrivée et vous emplyez la GE fixez multi le
système à la main, un signal sonore indique que la presence d’une
attente d’appel invitent la ligne. L’information d’identification de
visteur d’attente d’appel sera montrée et stocké dans l’histoire de
tous les combines dans le système.

Ai signal d’appel en attente dans le récepteur du combiné,
appuyez sur le bouton FLASH/exit pour mettre l’appel actuel
em garde et répondre à l’appel en attente. Appuyez sur le
bouton FLASH/exit encore pour retourner à l’appel original
.
Reception de Dossiers D’appelants
Quand vous recevez un appel, l’information de l’appelant
est transmise entre la première et la deuxième sonneries.
L’information d’appelant est affichée pendant que le téléphone
sonne, vous donnant ainsi la possibilité de consulter l’information
et de décider de prendre ou non l’appel.
Memorisation de Dossiers D’appelants
(Dans la Memoire de L’afficheur)
Si vous êtes absent ou ne pouvez répondre, la mémoire de
l’afficheur mémorise les données des ꢁ0 (jusqu’à ꢀ0 chiffres et
15 caractères pour chaque dossier) plus récents appels reçus
pour vous indiquer qui a appelé pendant que vous n’étiez
pas disponible. Et le message Nouveau appels s’affiche pour
vous rappeler que tous les appels ont été pris. À la réception
du ꢁ1e appel, le plus ancien dossier d’appelant (1er appel) est
automatiquement supprimé.
Vous pouvez consulter l’information mémorisée en tout temps. Les
appels reçus depuis la dernière consultation sont indiqués comme
étant NEW dans l’afficheur. Les appels qui n’ont pas été écoutés
précédemment mais qui proviennent du même numéro plus d’une
fois affichent RPT à l’écran.

Composition d’un dossier du répertoire pendant sa révision:
1. Assurez-vous que le téléphone est DÉSACTIVÉ (pas en mode
conversation).
ꢀ. Appuyez sur le bouton ph. book pour aller à l’annuaire
téléphonique.
ꢁ. Utilisez le bouton CID/VOL (+ ou -) ou le clavier pour aller au
dossier désiré.
ꢂ. Appuyez sur le bouton TALK/END. Le numéro est composé
automatiquement.
Si vous voulez modifier le numéro avant de composer :
1. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU lorsque vous passez en revue les
dossiers.

appuyez sur le bouton MENU pour passer en mode d’édition.

Programmation du Répondeur
Cette section traite des boutons et des fonctions du répondeur.
Compteur de Message
Le compteur de messages vous indique numériquement le
nombre de messages que vous avez. Voyez ci-dessous pour plus
de renseignements.
a) Un nombre sans clignoter – Pas de nouveaux messages. Il
indique le nombre total d’anciens messages.
b) Un nombre clignotant – Il y a des nouveaux messages. Il
indique le total des anciens et nouveaux messages.
c) Duex barre ( — — ) des affichages solidement – Le répondeur
est désactivé.
d) F en clignotant – La mémoire est pleine.
e) CL en clignotant – L’horloge n’a pas été réglée depuis la mise
en fonction ou depuis une panne électrique.
f ) Six barres horizontales en clignotant – Enregistrement MÉMO.
g) AN en clignotant – L’appareil répond à un appel et enregistre
un message.
h) Affichages de LA solidement -- L’appareil répond à un appel et
enregistre un message.
l) Affichages de SP solidement -- Le haut-parleur de la base est
fermé.

j) Ar clignote sur l’affichage -- le message d’accueil est en cours
d’enregistrement ou de lecture.
REMARQUE: Lors de l’écoute des messages, le compteur de
messages affiche les messages dans l’ordre de leur réception.
REMARQUE : le temps maximum alloué à chacun des
messages est de 2 minutes.
Reproducción de Mensajes
Le compteur de messages vous avertissent si vous avez des
messages ou de nouveaux messages. Pour écouter les messages,
appuyez sur le bouton PLAy/STOP.
Pendant l’écoute d’un message, vous pouvez:

Appuyez et relâcher le bouton REVIEW pour reprendre l’écoute

écouter le message que vous voulez effacer.

Vous pouvez accéder au répondeur à partir de tout appareil à

l’écoute du message d’accueil ou à la suite de ce message.
1. Composez le numéro de téléphone auquel le répondeur est
raccordé.

Mémoire Pleine
Lorsque la mémoire du répondeur est pleine, le système répond
après dix sonneries, affiche MEMOIRES EST REMPLIS et attend
que vous saisissiez le code de sécurité à trois chiffres. Si un code
de sécurité n’est pas entré dans les 7 secondes, le téléphone
raccroche.
Effacez quelques messages pour que le répondeur puisse
enregistrer les nouveaux messages.
REMARQUE: L’appareil répond aussi après 10 sonneries s’il
est éteint. Pour accéder au répondeur, entrez votre code de
sécurité à 3 chiffres.
Laisser une Note
Ce dispositif vous laisse enregistrer une note jusqu’à ꢀ minutes
long pour stocker comme message entrant.
1. Appuyez et gardez enfoncé le bouton MEMO. Vous devez garder le
bouton enfoncé jusqu’à la fin de l’enregistrement du mémo.
ꢀ. Commencez à parler après que l’appareil annonce ENREGISTREZ LE
MESSAGE.
ꢁ. Relâchez le bouton quand vous avez terminé.
Remplacement de la Pile

TTENTION: Pour réduire le risque d’incendie
ou de blessures, utilisez seulement la batterie
approuvé par Thomson Inc. d’hydrure de Nickel-
métal (Ni-MH) du model 5-2734, qui est compatible
avec cette unité
.
1. Assurez-vous que le téléphone est DÉSACTIVÉ (pas en mode
TALK) avant de remplacer la pile.
ꢀ. Retirez la porte du logement à pile.
ꢁ. Débranchez le cordon fixé au bloc-pile et retirez ce dernier du
combiné.

ꢂ. Insérez le nouveau bloc-pile et branchez le cordon dans la prise
à l’intérieur du logement à pile.
5. Remettez la porte du logement à pile en place.
6. Placez le combiné sur la base pour charger. Laissez la pile
du combiné se charger correctement (pendant 14 heures)
avant l’utilisation initiale ou quand vous installez un bloc-pile
neuf. Si vous ne chargez pas correctement le téléphone, le
rendement de la pile sera compromis.
Précautions à Prendre
•
Ne pas brûler, démonter, mutiler ni percer la pile. Comme
d’autres piles de ce type, des produits toxiques peuvent
s’échapper et causer des blessures.

Afin de réduire les risques d’incendie ou de blessure, utilisez
seulement la pile d’hydrure de Nickel-métal (Ni-MH) indiquée
dans le Guide de l’utilisateur.

Garder les piles hors de la portée des enfants.
Retirez les piles si vous rangez l’appareil pour plus de ꢁ0 jours.

fonctionne pas, le problème se situe peut-être au niveau du
câblage ou du service local.

Assurez-vous que l’interrupteur de sonnerie du combiné est
activé.
Sinon, il faut peut-être charger la pile. Rapprochez-vous de la
base.
Il y a peut-être trop de postes sur la même ligne. Essayez de
débrancher quelques postes téléphoniques.
Vérifiez le signal de manœuvre. Si vous n’entendez pas la
tonalité, consultez la section “Aucun signal de manœuvre”.
Électricité statique, bruit ou fluctuations

Le combiné est-il hors de la portée de la base ? Rapprochez-
vous de la base.

Assurez-vous que la base n’est pas branchée dans une

Soins et Entretien
Voici quelques conseils simples pour préserver le bon
fonctionnement et l’apparence de ce téléphon:

Éviter d’échapper le combiné et de l’utiliser abusivement.
Nettoyer le téléphone avec un chiffon doux. (Ne pas oublier
de débrancher d’abord le téléphone de la prise murale.)
