SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
Some a pplia nc es a re equipped with a pola rized plug (one bla de is
wider tha n the other). To reduc e the risk of elec tric shoc k, this plug
will fit into the pola rized outlet only one wa y. If the plug does not
properly fit into the outlet a t first, reverse it. If it still does not fit,
c onta c t a c ompetent qua lified elec tric ia n. Do not attempt to modify
the plug in any way.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE FIRST USE
•
When you use your a pplia nc e for the first time, pour fresh wa ter
into the wa ter ta nk (without c offee) a nd switc h on the a pplia nc e.
Onc e a ll the wa ter ha s pa ssed through, switc h off the a pplia nc e
a nd let it c ool down. When it is c old enough repea t the proc ess 3
times with fresh wa ter.

PREPARATION OF COFFEE
•
Open the lid of the wa ter ta nk a nd pour the desired volume of
wa ter in it. The wa ter level c a n be rea d off the wa ter level
indic a tor. Never exc eed the ma ximum level indic a ted.
Insert filter pa per or perma nent filter (depending on the model) in
the filter holder a nd a dd the desired qua ntity of ground c offee.
Never forget to c lose the wa ter ta nk lid before switc hing on the
c offee ma ker.

Put the jug with c losed lid on the hotpla te.
Switc h on the c offee ma ker. The pilot light will be illumina ted,
indic a ting tha t your a pplia nc e is in use. Tha nks to the keep wa rm
func tion, your c offee sta ys wa rm a s long a s the a pplia nc e is
switc hed on. Note tha t the a pplia nc e will be switc hed on a s long
a s you do not switc h it off ma nua lly. We a dvise you not to let the
a pplia nc e switc hed on for more tha n 2 hours a nd ma ke sure tha t
you never let a n empty jug on the a pplia nc e.
When you remove the jug from the a pplia nc e, a non-drip va lve
will a utoma tic a lly opera te to stop a ny drops of c offee fa lling onto
the hotpla te. When you put the jug ba c k into pla c e, the non-drip
va lve opens a utoma tic a lly a nd a llows rema ining c offee to filter
through into the jug.

Wa it until the brewing proc ess is finished a nd the filter is empty
before removing the jug.
Pra c tic a l hints: When the wa ter ta nk is empty, wa it a few more
minutes, a s some wa ter might still drip out of the filter before

AVANT LA PREMIERE UTILISATION

Lorsque vous utilisez votre a ppa reil pour la première fois, versez
de l’ea u da ns le réservoir (sa ns mettre de c a fé) et mettez
l'a ppa reil en fonc tionnement.
Dès que l’ea u est pa ssée, éteignez votre a ppa reil et répétez
c ette opéra tion 2 fois suc c essivement en a ttenda nt à c ha que
fois qu’il soit suffisa mment refroidi.

POUR FAIRE LE CAFE

Ouvrez le c ouverc le du réservoir et versez la qua ntité d’ea u
désirée. Le nombre de ta sses est indiqué pa r la ja uge. Ne
dépa ssez pa s le nivea u ma xima l indiqué.
Mettez un filtre pa pier ou un filtre perma nent (selon modèle)
da ns le porte-filtre et remplissez-le a vec la qua ntité de c a fé
moulu désirée.

N’oubliez pa s de refermer le c ouverc le du réservoir a va nt de
mettre l’a ppa reil en fonc tionnement.
Pla c ez la verseuse a vec le c ouverc le fermé sur la pla que
c ha uffa nte.
Ensuite, mettez la c a fetière en ma rc he à l’a ide de l’interrupteur.
Le témoin lumineux s’a llumera vous indiqua nt que votre a ppa reil
est en fonc tionnement. Un dispositif vous permet de c onserver le
c a fé a u c ha ud ta nt que la c a fetière est en fonc tionnement et
que la verseuse est pla c ée sur la pla que c ha uffa nte. Attention,
votre c a fetière restera a llumée ta nt que vous n’a urez pa s éteint
l’interrupteur. Il est déc onseillé de la la isser a llumée penda nt une
durée supérieure à deux heures et surtout de la isser la verseuse
vide sur la pla que c ha uffa nte.
Lorsque vous retirez la verseuse de l’a ppa reil, une va lve a nti-
gouttes se ferme a utoma tiquement pour éviter que toute goutte
de c a fé ne tombe sur la pla que c ha uffa nte. La remise en pla c e
de la verseuse ouvre a utoma tiquement le système a nti-gouttes et
permet a u c a fé resta nt da ns le filtre de pa sser da ns la verseuse.
