Operating Instructions
Mode d’emploi
The initial battery charge is very weak, so be sure to charge the batteries before using
them.
• Correct operation of the DPP-MP1 is not guaranteed when using batteries other than
the ones provided with this kit or specified in this guide.
• Be sure to read the precautions in the battery charger user’s guide before use.
• Be sure to read the precautions in the battery user’s guide before use.
• Make sure that the batteries are oriented correctly in the battery case.
• Make sure that the battery case cover is closed before using the DPP-MP1.
Charging the Batteries
• When the DPP-MP1 is idle for about 3 minutes, it turns off automatically (auto-off
function).
• Les piles peuvent chauffer après la charge. Attendre qu’elles refroidissent
après les avoir retirées du chargeur.
Be sure to charge all four Ni-MH rechargeable batteries together, until they
are fully charged.
adulte.
Do not use batteries other than the ones provided with this kit or specified in
this guide.
It takes approximately 230 minutes to charge four empty Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries.
Print Capacity
Using four charged AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries allows you to print
about 24 photos successively. (When printing at 60% gray, at room
temperature with new batteries.)
1
Insert the four Ni-MH rechargeable batteries into the battery
charger.
Make sure that the 3 and # electrodes are all oriented as illustrated
below.
Notes
• The actual number of images that can be printed depends on the images and the
ambient temperature during printing.
• Be sure to use four charged AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries when printing photos.
If the charge is low, you may not be able to print even one image.

When you are using Ni-MH rechargeable batteries to operate the DPP-MP1,
you can monitor the remaining charge of the batteries from the DPP-MP1
display (remaining charge indicator) as indicated below.
Warning
Pour les utilisateurs au Canada
• Charge only Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. (type NH-AA)

• Rechargeable batteries sometimes do not charge to full capacity when first purchased
or after long disuse, resulting in sub-optimal performance. If this occurs, please
recharge the batteries as soon as possible.
• Children should only use this charger under about supervision.
When the charge lamp blinks, it indicates that the battery charger
contains one or more batteries that have reached the end of their service
life or otherwise cannot be charged.
It takes approximately 230 minutes to charge four completely
discharged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. When charging ends, the
charge lamp goes out.
• Use of batteries other than those specified may cause electrolyte leaks or
explosions. To avoid such accidents, use only the specified batteries.
Avertissement:
• To avoid electrolyte leaks and corrosion, remove batteries from equipment if
it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
When the remaining charge indicator flashes
• Make sure that you are using batteries that are compatible with the DPP-
MP1. Batteries such as manganese dry or alkaline dry batteries are not
compatible with the DPP-MP1.
• When you use the DPP-MP1 in cold weather, make sure that the Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries are warm. If the batteries are cold, warm them with
your hands before use.
• Make sure that the battery case connector and battery electrodes are clean.
If the connector or electrodes are dirty, clean them with a cotton swab.
• Make sure the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are not exhausted.
Instruction for the use of Ni-MH rechargeable batteries

several charging and discharging should be done in order to activate the
cells.
• Cargue solamente pilas Ni-MH. (tipo NH-AA)
• Rechargeable batteries are constructed so that they are not damaged by
occasional overcharging at the standard charging rate of approximately one
tenth of the battery capacity. However, continual overcharging may
significantly reduce the battery’s life.
Remove the batteries from the battery charger.
• Do not expose to water, Do not heat or dispose of in fire.

Ordinarily, AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries can be recharged about 500 times.
However, the number of effective charges may be lower when the batteries are used
with the DPP-MP1. If the number of prints you can make is small even when the
batteries are fully charged, replace the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries with new ones.
