workproperly.  
Thunderstorms  
UnplugyourRP7510fromthetelephonesocketduringthunderstorms:iflightningstrikes  
yourphoneline,itcoulddamagethemachine. Yourguaranteedoesnotcoverlightning

Plugtheadaptorleadintothebackofthemachine(besuretopushtheplugfully  
in). Setthevolumecontroltomid-position. Thenplugtheadaptorintothewall  
socketandswitchon.Don’tplugintothetelephonesocketyet.  
Theredlightcomeson, thedisplaywillcountto41;there’llbeabeep.Then00'  
flashes.alternatelywith'Lo'. Waitforthebeepbeforecontinuing.  
Step2:fitaleak-resistant,alkaline,PP3battery  
Why?Becauseifyouhaveapowercut(orthemainssupplyisdisconnectedorswitched  
off),whenpowerisrestoredorswitchedonagain,  
youwon’thavetore-settheclock;  
youwon’tloseyourmessages;and  
youwon’tloseanyoutgoingmessageyourecordedyourself.(Themachinecomes  
withstandardoutgoingmessagesbutyoucanrecordyourown  
instead.)  
Thebatterywillcomeintouseonlywhenthepoweriscutoffandwillsupportthememories  
forseveralhours. Thebatterywilleventuallyrundownifpowerisnotrestored. (NBIfyou  
plantoswitchthepowertothemachineoffforlengthyperiods,disconnectthemachine  
fromthetelephonesocketandremovethebattery.You'llhavetosettheclockandrecord  
anypersonaloutgoingmessageswhenswitchingthemachineonagainandrefittingthe  
battery).  
Removethebatterycover(makesurethetelephoneisnotconnectedtothetelephone  
socket).  
FitthePP3battery. Theconnectorwillonlyfitthecorrectwayround.  
Putthecoverbackon. '00'willflash.

Additional safety  
The apparatus does not incorporate an integral power on/off switch. To  
disconnect the power, either switch off the supply at the mains power socket  
or unplug the AC adaptor. When installing the apparatus, ensure that the  
mains power socket is readily accessible.  
The interconnection point between the AC adaptor output lead and the  
apparatus power socket carries a Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) and  
indirectly, aTelecommunication NetworkVoltage (TNV). Do not connect any  
apparatus to the socket other than the Type 751 AC adaptor supplied.  
The battery connector carries aTelecommunication NetworkVoltage (TNV)  
and the apparatus must be disconnected from the telephone line before the  
battery compartment cover is removed to fit or change the battery.
