WELCOME TO THE CAPRESSO PerfecTea CORDLESS GLASS KETTLE
The Capresso water kettle boils water faster, safer and more energy efficiently than a
stovetop kettle. Water heats quickly to the selected temperature and the heater shuts
itself off. The Capresso water kettle is easy to operate. The universal power base is ideal
for left or right hand use. The blue indicator lights add style and practicality. Whenever
the kettle shuts off, the blue indicator light turns off. With its high quality Schott glass
and its beautiful design this kettle fits well in every kitchen environment.
PLEASE DON'T!
• Never boil water while the lid is open. Water may splash out of the kettle. This can
cause severe injuries.
• Never try to remove the lid.
• When opening the lid, handle it gently and do not try to push it beyond its normal
resistance. The lid can be moved to a vertical position.
• Never fill kettle with anything but water.
• Do not add instant soups or any other soluble to the kettle.
• Do not use the kettle to thaw food of any kind.
• Do not use the kettle to make sauces or to melt cheese, butter or any other items.
• Never immerse the kettle in any liquid. Never put kettle or base in the dishwasher.
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Read all Important Safeguards and Operating Instructions before using this kettle.
Discard the first filling of boiling water to remove any dust and residues from the
manufacturing process.
OPERATING THE KETTLE
1. Remove kettle from base.
2. Open the lid until it stands vertically. DO NOT BEND LID FURTHER BACK!
3. Fill with the desired amount of fresh cold water. The kettle has minimum and
maximum markings. Never under fill or overfill the kettle.
CAUTION / DANGEROUS: Never fill above the MAX line. If you fill above the max
line, boiling water will push out of the pouring spout. This can cause severe injuries
and burns.
4. Close lid.
5. Place kettle on Power Base. The kettle will fit either with the handle pointing to the
right or to the left.
6. Plug cord into wall outlet.
7. Dial the desired temperature setting and press and release the on/off button. The
heater is now on, the selected temperature light and the power light are steady on.
CAUTION: During heating do not touch the seam between the lid and the handle.
Hot steam makes this area hot.
8. When the water reaches the selected temperature, the heater and lights will turn off.
9. Lift kettle from base and pour water out slowly.
IMPORTANT: Before pouring boiling water, press the thumb tab (A) down, putting
the lid into a vertical position diverting hot steam away from the hand during pouring.
10. Replace kettle.
11. If you want to bring the remaining water to the desired temperature again, just push
the on/off button again. IMPORTANT: make sure the kettle is always filled to the MIN
marking. Always fill the kettle with water to cover the heater. If there is less water
heated, the heating dome (E) will discolor.
12. When finished, unplug the base from outlet.

HELPFUL HINTS:
1. If the rotary dial is set between the middle of two settings before heating, the
heater will not turn on when the on/off button is pressed. Place the dial at
the desired setting and push the on/off button again.
2. If the glass kettle is not placed on the base before heating, the heater will
not turn on when the on/off button is pressed and the power light will blink.
Place the kettle on the base and press the on/off button.
3. You can always turn the kettle off by pushing the on/off button again or by
just lifting the kettle off the base.
4. If you remove the kettle during heating – before Auto Shut-Off – the blue
indicator lights will turn off. If you place the kettle back on the power base
you must push the on/off button to start the heating process.
5. If you change the setting during heating, the heater and temperature lights
will turn off as the rotary dial is turned. When the dial is set at a temperature,
the temperature and power lights will be steady on.
6. If the kettle is "ON" and no water is detected, the heater and temperature
lights will turn off. This may cause the heating dome to discolor and the
glass may become warm.
7. Do not leave water standing in the kettle for more than 1 hour. Water
becomes stale.
CLEANING
• Always unplug cord of power base before cleaning.
• Make sure kettle is cold.
• Clean the exterior surface with a clean, damp, soft cloth.
• Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents.
• Rinse out kettle and wipe dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Attention:
• Over time the stainless steel cover of the heating element inside the bottom
of the kettle may change color slightly. This is caused by the intense heat of
the heating element.
• If your water has a high iron content brownish stains may appear on the
stainless steel element (this is also known as "boiler scale"). These stains can
be wiped away with a cloth and a mild abrasive. Rinse kettle thoroughly with
fresh water.
DECALCIFICATION
Hard water can leave calcium spots inside the kettle. Use a commercial
descaling agent and follow the instructions that come with the agent.
NOTE: Make sure kettle is cold.
Use of Vinegar
You can also use white vinegar to descale the inside. Fill the kettle with 2 cups
of water (16 oz) and add 6 tablespoons of white vinegar. Bring to a boil.
Discard the solution and repeat if necessary. Rinse the kettle once or twice with
fresh cold water.
