Introduction
The Xperia™ SmartTags suite uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to
activate different events on your phone. An "event" is a set of actions associated with
a particular SmartTag. Each tag in the suite is pre-configured with an event. When
you swipe one of the SmartTags with your phone, the event associated with the tag is
activated. For example, if you swipe the “Car” tag, the Bluetooth function gets turned
on and the Navigation application is launched.
You can change the actions associated with a SmartTag and set up different
SmartTags to suit your various needs. For example, you can remove Bluetooth from
your “Car” tag and change the sound mode. By setting up SmartTags for different
situations, you don’t need to turn on the associated functions manually every time.
Use the dual adhesive stickers supplied with your Xperia™ SmartTags to place them in
convenient locations. Do not place the tags on or stick them to metal surfaces in order to
avoid damaging the magnetic chips inside the tags.
Compatibility information for your Xperia™ SmartTags is available at www.sonymobile.com.
