WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire,

Assembling Your Vacuum Cleaner  
Cord Assembly  
Attachment Storage  
Carpet Height Adjustment  
1. Make sure that the quick release  
cord holder is in the upright  
position.  
2. Remove the wire tie from the  
power cord.  
3. Wrap the cord into place by  
wrapping it in a clockwise direction  
around the quick release cord  
holder and the lower cord holder  
as shown. (fig. 3)  
After the handle has been assembled to  
the body of the vacuum and the power  
cord has been wrapped around the  
cord holders, the attachments can be  
assembled.  
1. Insert the end of the hose into one  
of the extension tubes and place  
this extension tube into the slot of  
the inlet hose.  
2. Loop the loose hose over the hose  
hook.  
3. Place the other extension tube into  
the extension tube holder.  
To select a pile height setting:  
1. Turn vacuum cleaner "Off".  
2. Select a pile height setting by tilting  
the vacuum cleaner back until the  
front wheels are lifted slightly off the  
floor.  
Note: Always remove the power plug  
from the wall outlet before assembling or  
removing accessories.  
Handle Assembly  
1. Remove the screw located just below  
the top edge of the back of the  
vacuum. (fig. 1)  
3. Slide the adjustment lever to the  
desired setting. (Fig. 6)  
Suggested Pile Height Setting:  
You may need to raise the height of the  
vacuum to make some jobs easier,  
such as scatter rugs and longer pile  
carpets. Suggested settings are:  
4. Slide the crevice tool inside the  
extension tube when not in use.  
5. Place the dusting brush into the  
dusting brush holder.  
HIGH:  
shag carpet, long pile, plush  
scatter rugs  
MED:  
LOW:  
medium to long pile  
short to medium pile, bare

How to Start  
EX LOW: very low pile, bare floors  
2. Position the handle as shown in fig. 2.  
The upright vacuum can be used on  
multiple types of carpeting, bare floors  
or upholstery with attachments. When  
using the attachment tools such as the  
crevice tool and the dusting brush,  
place the handle of the vacuum in the  
upright position. (Fig. 5)  
1. Turn the quick release cord holder  
to either side 180° to release the  
power cord.  
2. Plug the power cord into the  
electrical outlet.  
3. Step on the handle release pedal  
to release the handle.  
Place unit in "HIGH" setting when using  
attachments to prevent possible floor  
damage.  
Attention: Special care is required  
when vacuuming certain types of carpet  
or floor covering. Always check the  
carpet or floor covering manufacturer's  
recommended cleaning instructions  
before vacuuming.

4. Turn the quick release cord holder  
to the left or to the right to unwrap  
the power cord. (Fig. 4)  
4. Step on the On/Off button to turn  
the vacuum "On".

3. While holding the power cord out of the  
way, slide the handle into the opening at  
the top of the vacuum.

4. Insert the screw so that it passes  
through the handle into the vacuum.  
5. Begin to tighten the screw with your  
fingers. It may be necessary to adjust  
the handle slightly. Using a screwdriver,  
tighten the screw.

1. Place the vacuum cleaner on a flat  
surface and move the carpet height  
adjustment to HIGH.  
2. The crevice tool and the dusting  
brush will fit both the extension  
tubes and the hose. The dusting  
brush will also fit on the end of the  
crevice tool. (Fig. 8)  
3. The extension tube can be  
removed from the inlet hose by  
grasping the cuff and twisting while  
pulling up.

back on the handle until it releases from

Removing & Emptying Dust Cup  
The “Dust Cup” must always be emptied  
when the dirt level reaches the "MAX  
FULL" line on the dust cup.  
To remove the dust cup from the  
vacuum:  
1. Press the dust cup release button  
and lift the dust cup out and up of the  
vacuum cleaner. (Fig. 9)

Caution:  
• Do NOT pull the vacuum cleaner  
around the room by the hose as it  
could tip over and cause damage.  
• When using the attachments, be  
careful NOT to overextend the hose  
length when reaching. Trying to  
reach beyond the hose reach could  
cause the vacuum cleaner to tip over.  
2. Hold dust cup container with hand  
and turn the dust cup cover counter  
clockwise with the other hand to  
remove. (Fig. 10)  
3. Remove the HEPA "TAP CLEAN"

Alternatively, the  
HEPA filter may  
also be washed by running it  
under the tap allowing the water  
to run on the dirty side. We  
recommend washing it once a  
month or when suction appears  
reduced. Always allow 24 hours  
for drying before replacing into the  
vacuum.  
Warning:  
Always turn vacuum "Off" before  
attaching the accessories.  
4. Empty the dust cup directly into  
dustbin. (Fig. 11)  
• Do NOT place hands or feet  
underneath the agitator brush at any  
time. When using the attachments,  
the agitator brush continues to rotate.  
• Do NOT allow the vacuum cleaner to  
remain in just one place for a long  
period of time as the agitator may  
damage the floor surface.  
NEVER place the vacuum cleaner on  
furniture, the fringed area of rugs,  
deep pile carpeting or carpeted  
stairs. The ideal position for the  
vacuum cleaner when using any  
attachment is for the unit to be on a  
level surface with the handle in the  
upright position and the carpet height  
adjustment lever in HIGH.

3. "TapClean" the debris

4. When the debris screen is dry,  
replace it on the HEPA filter and re-  
install filter assembly into the vacuum.

Please Note: The white material in the  
HEPA filter will discolor over time - This is  
NORMAL and will NOT affect the  
performance of the filter.  
Warning: Always empty the dust cup  
and clean the HEPA dust cup filter  
before each use and during prolonged  
usage. Never over fill the dust cup -  
remove dirt and clean the HEPA dust  
cup filter each time the dust cup is  
emptied during prolonged usage or risk  
motor damage.

Cleaning the HEPA Dust Cup Filter  
We recommend that you "TAP CLEAN"  
the HEPA Filter every time you empty the  
dust cup.  
1. When you have removed the HEPA  
Filter from the dust cup, separate the  
debris screen from the HEPA Filter.

10.Insert the right side of the agitator in  
first by placing the rounded portion  
of the end cap down into the slot  
and then do the same with the left  
side. Press firmly to make sure that  
each end is completely inserted.  
11.Check to make sure that the belt is  
centered on the belt pulley and that  
the agitator turns freely.  
Motor Filter  
Warning: To reduce the risk of electric  
shock, the power cord must be  
disconnected before removing the dust  
cup, dust cup filter,changing the filters or  
performing maintenance/trouble shooting  
checks.  
The dust cup can be washed in  
lukewarm water. Do not use strong  
detergents. Ensure that the dust cup is  
fully dry before putting back on the  
vacuum cleaner. (Fig. 16) Do not wash  
in dishwasher.  
Warning: To reduce the risk of electric

performing maintenance/trouble shooting  
checks.  
Occasionally the power nozzle drive  
belt will require changing, the  
frequency will depend upon the amount  
of use your vacuum sees.  
Warning: To reduce the risk of electric

disconnected before removing the dust  
cup, dust cup filter,changing the filters or  
performing maintenance/trouble shooting  
checks.  
The pre-motor filter is located  
underneath the dust cup. Please note  
that this filter is not a washable filter  
but should be cleaned frequently. To  
remove the pre-motor filter:  
1. Remove the dust cup from the  
vacuum cleaner.  
2. Make sure that you empty the dust  
cup before turning it upside down to  
remove the pre-motor filter.  
3. Press inward on the two clips on  
the side of the filter and pull out to  
remove.  
4. Clean the pre-motor filter by gently  
tapping over a trash container.  
5. Replace the filter into the dust cup  
and push down until you hear it  
click into place.  
12.Replace the bottom plate over the  
power head base and screw firmly.  
1. Turn the vacuum "Off" and unplug  
from power supply.  
2. Release the handle by pressing on  
the handle release pedal and pull  
back on the handle until it releases  
from its upright position. Then turn  
the vacuum over and place on the  
floor.  
3. With a Phillips #2 screw driver  
remove the five screws on the  
bottom plate. (Fig. 17)

Changing the Headlight Bulbs  
Warning: Always disconnect from  
power source when servicing or  
cleaning the unit. Failure to do so could  
result in electrical shock or personal  
injury from cleaner suddenly starting.  
Motor Thermostat

Warning: To reduce the risk of electric  
shock, the power cord must be  
disconnected before removing the dust  
cup, dust cup filter,changing the filters or  
performing maintenance/trouble shooting  
checks.  
Important: This motor is equipped  
with a motor protective thermostat. If  
for some reason the vacuum cleaner  
should overheat, the thermostat will  
automatically turn the unit off. Should  
this occur:  
Push the On/Off button once.  
• Disconnect the plug from the  
power source.  
• Check the source of overheating  
problem. (i.e. clogged hose or  
filter)  
• if clogged hose or filter is found,  
unclog the hose and replace the  
filters.  
• Wait at least 30 minutes before  
attempting to reuse the vacuum.  
• After unit has cooled down for  
30 minutes, plug in the cleaner  
and push the On/Off button. The  
vacuum should start again.  
• If the vacuum still does not start,  
contact EURO-PRO at 1-800-  
798-7398.  
• Turn unit “Off” and unplug from  
wall outlet.  
• Snap the lens cover off by pressing  
down to release the two notches on  
the lens. (Fig. 19)  
• Remove the light bulbs by pulling  
them out carefully.  
• Replace with new bulbs by pushing  
them in.

The exhaust filter is located on the  
front of the unit below where the dust  
cup is.  
1. Check the exhaust filter frequently  
and clean when dirty.  
4. Carefully remove any residue that  
may exist in the belt area.  
5. If the belt has broken, remove any  
loose pieces before replacing.  
6. Hold the agitator with your hand. If  
the belt is still attached to the  
agitator, there will be tension on it.  
7. Carefully lift the left side of the  
agitator and then the right side.  
8. Remove the worn or broken belt  
from the motor drive shaft.  
9. Loop the new belt first over the  
drive shaft and then over the belt  
pulley on the agitator. (Fig. 18)  
• Replace the lens cover.  
2. Press inward on each side of the  
exhaust filter cover and pull out to  
remove from the vacuum cleaner.  
3. Remove the exhaust filter.  
4. Rinse in lukewarm water and dry  
the filter completely before re-  
installing into the vacuum. Do not  
use a washing machine to rinse the  
filter. Do not use a hair dryer to dry  
it. Air dry only. Never operate the  
vacuum without the filters in place.  
5. When the filter is dry, replace into  
the vacuum and replace the filter  
cover.

Note: A severely soiled or clogged  
filter should be thoroughly washed with  
fresh tepid water. A mild detergent can  
be used if required.

be solved quite easily when the cause is found. Therefore, this checklist is
