exhaust in any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces,  
like a bed, where openings may become blocked.  
13. To disconnect heater, set controls to OFF, then remove  
plug from outlet.  
14. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the  
extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.  
However, if you have to use an extension cord, the  
cord shall be No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated not  
less than 1875 watts.  
15. Always unplug the heater when not in use.

CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION  
THIS PRODUCT IS EQUIPPED WITH A POLARIZED AC  
(Alternating Current) PLUG (a plug having one blade wider  
than the other). This plug will fit  
into the power outlet only one  
way. If the plug does not fit fully  
into the outlet, reverse the plug.  
If it still does not fit, contact  
qualified personnel to install  
the proper outlet.  
DO NOT DEFEAT THE SAFETY PURPOSE OF THIS  
POLARIZED PLUG IN ANY WAY.  
The length of the cord used on this product was selected  
to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping  
over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary an  
approved extension cord may be used. The electrical  
rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater  
than the rating of the heater. Care must be taken to

arrange the extension cord where it cannot be pulled on by  
children or accidentally tripped over.  
AUTO SHUT-OFF  
To prevent damage and risks due to overheating this unit is  
equipped with a built-in overheat protection device. It cuts  
off the power as soon as the heater’s internal temperature  
becomes too high. This patented, technologically  
advanced system requires the user to reset the heater in  
case of a potential overheat situation. It will only resume  
operation when the user resets it.  
To Reset the Heater:  
1. Unplug the heater and wait 10 minutes for the  
unit to cool down.  
2. After the 10 minutes, plug the unit in and  
operate normally.  
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS  
Carefully unpack your heater from the box (it is  
recommended to save the box for off-season storage).  
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS  
1. Place the unit on a firm level surface. Plug in the heater  
to a 120V power source.  
2. To start the unit, press the Power button (BCH3220) or  
turn the mode knob (BCH3210) located on the control  
panel. The power light will remain lit while the heater  
is in operation. For BCH3210, make sure that the mode  
knob is in the OFF position.  
THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS  
On the first use, the heater will operate in fan mode.  
After initial use, the heater will operate on the last  
programmed setting.  
This function allows you to set the heater to your  
desired comfort level. The heater will maintain your  
desired room temperature.

For BCH3210:  
1. Set the THERMOSTAT knob to the highest setting,  
clockwise as far as it will turn.  
2. When the desired room temperature level is reached,  
lower the thermostat setting, by turning the  
THERMOSTAT knob counter clockwise as far as  
it will turn.  
3. The thermostat will now automatically maintain the  
pre-set temperature level by turning the heater on and  
off. The thermostat is now set.

For BCH3220:  
1. To change the heater settings, press the MODE button.  
Each time you press the MODE button, it will scroll  
through the settings FAN, LOW, HIGH, AUTO.  
Note: The fan speed will not change when the  
mode is changed from low to high.  
2. Select the AUTO mode.  
3. Set the heater to the desired room temperature by  
pressing the (+) or (-) buttons.  
Note that the degree range is from 60°F - 85°F  
(15°C - 29°C). If you scroll past 85°F (29°C) the  
display will automatically loop to 60°F (15°C).  
4. Now the desired temperature is set.  
Note: When the temperature in the proximity of the heater  
reaches the set temperature, the heater will automatically  
turn on. The fan will continue to run cooling the heater for  
30 seconds. The unit will operate again when the  
temperature falls below the preset temperature.

TIP: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as  
it maintains the preset temperature. To prevent the unit  
from cycling, raise the thermostat setting.  
90° SWIVEL INSTRUCTIONS  
For maximum heat distribution use the revolutionary vertical  
twin housing configuration to allow heat to travel in two  
different directions.  
1. Carefully adjust each swivel to direct the heat flow.  
2. Do not swivel the unit beyond the point of resistance.  
NIGHTLIGHT (BCH3220 only)  
1. The nightlight will automatically light when the room  
becomes dark. When the room becomes light, the  
nightlight will automatically turn off.  
2. To turn the nightlight off, press the button on the  
control panel.  
TIP: The nightlight will not automatically operate until  
the button is pressed again.  
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS  
During Season Care  
1. Before cleaning make sure the unit is unplugged.  
Allow the heater to cool before cleaning.  
2. Carefully wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth.  
Please be cautious near the heating elements.  
TIP: Over time, dust may accumulate on the front  
grills. This can be removed by wiping the unit with a  
damp cloth. Always unplug unit and allow to cool  
prior to cleaning.  
After Season Care  
Store heater in a cool, dry location. Bionaire® recommends  
storing the unit in its original, or appropriately sized, box.

HEATER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS  
1. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or  
mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void the  
warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user  
serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by  
qualified personnel only.  
2. If you need to exchange the unit, please return it in its  
original carton, with a sales receipt, to the store where  
you purchased it. If you are returning the unit more than  
30 days after the date of purchase, please see the  
enclosed warranty.

WARRANTY  
Bionaire® warrants to the first retail purchaser, for TWO (2)  
YEARS from the date of original purchase, either to repair  
or replace at its option, without charge (parts and labor),  
any supplied or manufactured part of this heater which,  
upon inspection by an authorized service center, proves to  
have failed in normal use due to defects in material or  
workmanship, or at its option, to replace the unit.  
Operation under conditions other than those  
recommended or at voltages other than the voltage  
indicated on the unit, or any attempts by unauthorized  
personnel to service the unit or modify it, will render the  
guarantee void.  
Bionaire® shall not be liable for any personal injury, property  
damage or any incidental or consequential damages of any  
kind (including water damage), resulting from defects,  
malfunctions, misuse, improper installation or alteration of  
the product.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL  
DAMAGES OR INCIDENTAL LOSSES

TROUBLESHOOTING  
If your heater fails to operate:

Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit  
breaker is working.  
Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction  
turn the heater OFF, and follow the Reset  
Instructions in the manual. Carefully remove the  
obstruction.  
The thermostat might be set too low. Raise the  
thermostat until the heater restarts.  
Please DO NOT attempt to open or repair the  
heater. Please see the Warranty for Service  
Instructions.
