Abuilt-inscanningfeatureallowsyoutoautomaticallymonitor,orscan,  
connectedcomputerswithoutintervention.Whenkeyboardactivityis  
detected,scanningissuspendeduntilallactivitystops.Scanningthenresumes  
withthenextserverinsequence.  
Cascadingexpansion  
EachOutlookESswitchsupportsupto16directlyattachedservers,depending  
onthemodel.Ifmorethan16areneeded,multipleunitscanbecascaded

Rack mount safety considerations  
ElevatedAmbientTemperature:Ifinstalledinaclosedrackassembly,the  
operationtemperatureoftherackenvironmentmaybegreaterthanroom  
ambient.Usecarenottoexceedtheratedmaximumambienttemperature  
oftheunit.  
ReducedAirFlow:Installationoftheequipmentinarackshouldbesuch  
thattheamountofairflowrequiredforsafeoperationoftheequipmentis  
notcompromised.  
MechanicalLoading:Mountingoftheequipmentintherackshouldbesuch  
thatahazardousconditionisnotachievedduetounevenmechanicalloading.  
CircuitOverloading:Considerationshouldbegiventotheconnectionof  
theequipmenttothesupplycircuitandtheeffectthatoverloadingof  
circuitsmighthaveonovercurrentprotectionandsupplywiring.Consider

“shortsideofeachbrackettoanappropriatesetofmatchingholeson  
yourequipmentrack,theninserting#10-32Phillipsscrewsthroughthe

Theswitchmustbepoweredupbeforetheattachedserverssincetheswitch  
storesmouseandkeyboardconnectionandratedataforeachserver.The  
switchusesthisinformationtoinitializethekeyboardandmouseinterfacesof  
theservers.Iftheserversareturnedonbeforetheswitch,theserversmay  
exhibitabnormalorerraticbehavior.  
TopoweruptheOutLookswitchsystem:  
1. Turnonthemonitors.  
2. Turnontheprimaryswitch.  
3. Turnontheserversattachedtotheprimaryswitch.  
4. Turnonthesecondaryswitch(ifapplicable).

Duringsystemstartup,checktoseethatyourprimaryOutLookswitchdoes
