Meade® #887 Advanced Field Tripod; #889 Tripod Adapter  
The #887 Advanced Field Tripod yields rock-solid stability for sensitive applications of the Meade ETX-125 telescope.  
The #889 Tripod Adapter, included with the #887 Tripod, may also be purchased separately for use with Meade LX10,  
LX50, or LX200 tripods and permits attachment of the ETX-125 to any of these tripods.

1. Attach the adapter to your ETX telescope: Slide  
the two adapter knobs through the attachment  
holes on the bottom of the adapter plate. Thread  
the knobs into the tripod holes on the base of your  
ETX. Tighten to firm feel only. See Figure 1 for  
proper orientation.  
1. Attach the adapter to your ETX telescope with the  
two adapter knobs as described in step 1 of the  
Altazimuth installation. See Figure 2 for proper  
orientation.  
NOTE: The "short" tab of the three tabs  
on the #889 Adapter must point up and  
line up with the slot at the top of the  
wedge.  
2. Thread the tension lock nut onto the large  
threaded rod. Orient the lock nut so that the side  
with the protruding cylinder points upwards.  
Thread the lock nut down the rod about 3 inches.  
2. Attach the equatorial wedge to the tripod as  
explained on the equatorial wedge instruction  
sheet (packaged with the equatorial wedge).  
Attach the azimuth control components as  
explained on the azimuth control instruction sheet  
(packaged with the azimuth control).  
3. Attach the #889 Adapter/ETX-125 assembly to  
the tripod by threading the large threaded rod in  
the center of the tripod head into the large hole  
on the bottom of the adapter base. Note that  
three tapped holes are provided in the adapter if  
a more secure attachment is desired. Use 1/4"-  
20 bolts (not supplied).  
3. Attach the #889 Adapter/ETX-125 assembly to  
the wedge: Slide the three tab knobs through the  
attachment holes of the wedge and thread into  
the holes provided in the adapter plate tabs.  
4. Thread the tension lock nut upwards until it  
tightens against the base of the tripod.
