Installing The Batteries
This Timex alarm clock requires 3 “AAA”
batteries (not included). We recommend using
a well-known brand of alkaline batteries for
longer life and best performance.
Press the battery door locking tab in the
direction of the arrow to remove the battery
door. Install 3 “AAA” batteries as shown in the
illustration, making sure the polarity (+ or -)
matches the diagram.
Battery Compartment
The clock will ‘beep’ 4 times and the display
will show “12:00 AM” as the time and 6:00
AM as the default alarm time.
Replace the battery door.
Replacing The Batteries
Three fresh alkaline AAA batteries should operate the clock for up to 1 year.
When the time display begins to fade and the alarm sound becomes weak it is
time to replace the batteries. Be sure to replace all 3 batteries at the same
time and do not mix different types of batteries in the battery compartment.
This alarm clock includes a special memory circuit that will maintain your time
and alarm settings for several minutes even when the 3 batteries are removed
during battery replacement. If you have 3 new batteries ready to install you
should not have to re-enter all of your settings after replacing the batteries.
However if the batteries are removed for a long period of time the internal
memory will be lost and it will be necessary to reset the time, alarm time,
snooze duration, backlight color, etc., after the new batteries are installed.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave exhausted batteries in the clock for an extended
period of time. Exhausted batteries may eventually leak and cause damage to
the clock itself and possible corrosion damage to the surface beneath the
clock.
Battery Performance
Do not mix with used or other battery types/brands,
Replace all cells at the same time
Do not open batteries
Do not dispose of in fire
Do not heat above 75ºC (167ºF)
Do not expose contents to water
Do not charge or recharge
Do not install backwards

Care/Maintenance
Protect your furniture when placing the unit on natural wood or wood with
a lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective material should be placed
between the unit and the furniture.
Clean the casing with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water.
Stronger cleaning agents, such as benzine, thinner, or similar materials are
not recommended, as they may damage the surface of the case.
If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, such as a month or longer,
remove the battery to prevent possible corrosion. Should the battery
compartment become corroded or dirty, clean it thoroughly and replace the
battery.
Setting The Time
1. Press and hold the SET button for two seconds. The time display will
begin flashing.
2. Press the “+” or “ “ buttons to adjust the time display. If you hold the “+”
or “ “ buttons the display will change rapidly. When the display
approaches the correct time press the “+” or “ “ buttons repeatedly to
set the display to the desired minute. Be sure to set the time correctly for
AM or PM. If the PM indicator does not appear the time displayed is AM.
3. When the correct time is flashing on the display simply wait 5 seconds
until the display stops flashing and the clock will begin to run.
NOTE: You must adjust the time while the display is flashing. If no
adjustments are made within 5 seconds after you press the SET button the
display will stop flashing and no time adjustments can be made. If this occurs
depress the SET button again for 2 seconds to start the display flashing and
complete your time adjustments while the display is flashing.

Depress and hold either the “+” or “ “ buttons to move the alarm time
display rapidly forward or back. When the display approaches the desired
alarm time repeatedly press the “+” or “ “ buttons to set the display to the

If the PM indicator does not appear the alarm time displayed is AM.
Selecting The Backlight Color
This Timex alarm clock features a 7-color momentary display backlight that
illuminates the clock display for easy viewing in a darkened room. To turn on
the backlight simply press down on the top of the cabinet. The default back
light color is blue. The backlight will remain ‘On’ for 5 seconds and then shut
off automatically.
To select a different backlight color, continue pressing the top cabinet to cycle
through the 7 color options. When you see the color that you prefer stop
pressing the cabinet. After 5 seconds the backlight will shut off. The next time
you press the top cabinet the new backlight color that you selected will
appear.
Continuous Backlight Operation
If you wish to have the color changing backlight remain ‘on’, press down on
the top cabinet for 2 seconds until the display backlight begins to cycle
through the 7 available color options, then release the cabinet. The color
changing operation will continue indefinitely until you stop it by pressing on the
top cabinet once more. The color changing will stop and after 5 seconds the
backlighting will shut off.
IMPORTANT: Continuous Backlight Operation will drain the batteries
after approximately 40 hours. To minimize the battery drain do not
leave the unit in the Continuous Backlight Mode for more than a few
minutes.

Activating / Deactivating The Alarm
Depress the SET button for 2 seconds until the time display begins flashing,
then press the SET button 2 more times. The word “OFF” begins flashing in
the display indicating that the alarm is ‘Off’ (deactivated). Press either the “+”
or “ “ button once until the word “ON” is flashing in the display, indicating
that the alarm is ‘On’ (activated). After 5 seconds the display stops flashing
and returns to the correct time. However the alarm indicator (((z))) remains in
the display.
To deactivate the alarm repeat this procedure until the word “OFF” is again
flashing in the display. After 5 seconds the display returns to the correct time
and the alarm indicator (((z))) disappears. The alarm is now deactivated.
When the alarm is activated it will turn on every day at the same time until it is
deactivated. The alarm indicator (((z))) flashes, the alarm sound will continue
for 60 seconds and then the alarm shuts off automatically and resets itself for
the following day. During the 60 seconds that the alarm is sounding the
display backlighting will be cycling through the 7 different color options. To
stop the alarm sound sooner, press the SET button. The alarm sound stops
and the alarm resets for the following day.
Snooze Operation
When the alarm turns on you may press the top of the cabinet to activate the
snooze function. The snooze indicator (Z z) flashes in the display. The alarm
sound stops for 5 minutes and then turns on again.

Adjusting The Snooze Time
This Timex alarm clock allows you to adjust the length of the snooze operation
from 1 minute to 60 minutes. The default snooze time is 5 minutes.
To adjust the amount of Snooze time:
1. Depress the SET button for 2 seconds until the time display begins
flashing, then press the SET button an additional 3 times. The Snooze
indicator (Z z) and the default snooze time (05) begin flashing in the display.
2. Press either the “+” or “ “ buttons to adjust the snooze time setting up or
down to a maximum of 60 minutes or a minimum of 1 minute.
3. When the desired snooze time appears on the display you may either
press the SET button once more to save the new setting as the default
and return to the correct time, or simply wait 5 seconds for the display to
stop flashing and return to the correct time. The new setting is now saved
as the snooze default time and will remain in the memory until you change
it again.
12 Hour / 24 Hour Time/Alarm Display Option
This Timex alarm clock gives you the option of having the time and alarm time
displayed in either the 12-hour format with PM indicator or the 24-hour
format, sometimes referred to as ‘military time’. The default display setting is
the 12-hour format with PM indicator.
If you wish to change to the 24-hour display format, depress the SET button
for 2 seconds until the time display begins flashing, then press the SET
button once more. The “12hr” indicator begins flashing below the time
display. Press either the “+” or “ “ buttons once to change the indicator from
12hr to 24hr. After 5 seconds the display returns to the correct time but the
time and alarm time will now appear in the 24-hour format. For example, 6:00
PM will be displayed as “18:00”.
Repeat this procedure to change back to the 12-hour format at any time.
