OPERATION
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Plug the surge protector into a three-
prong standard AC outlet. The
PROTECTED WHEN LIT indicator
Condition
The SURGE ACTIVE INDICATOR (green LED)
does not light.
Be sure the total wattage of all connected
devices does not exceed 1875 watts.
Use the surge protector only with a three-
prong standard AC plug. The surge
protector cannot provide protection without
a grounded AC source.
!
lights.
Solution
The surge protector's AC line is no longer
protected from surges; replace the surge
protector. The surge protector may have
received a power surge or spike beyond its
specified limits that might overload the
protection circuitry and make it inactive.
If this happened, the surge protector should
have absorbed enough of the surge to protect
the connected equipment, but it will not
protect against future surges and spikes.
2. Plug the device(s) you want to protect
into the AC socket(s). The connected
devices are protected.
Retain Instructions— Retain the safety
and operating instructions for future
reference.
If the PROTECTED WHEN LIT indicator
does not light, see “Troubleshooting”.
Damage — Unplug the surge protector from
the wall outlet and replace it:
a. When the power cord or plug is damaged.
USING THE SAFETY SLIDE
COVER
b. If liquid has been spilled or objects have
fallen into the surge protector.
Your surge protector is equipped with a
safety slide cover on each of its eight AC
sockets. Slide the cover to cover the
unused AC socket(s). Slide them down when
you’re ready to use the sockets.
c. If the surge protector has been exposed
to rain or water.
Condition
d. If the surge protector has been dropped
or damaged in any way.
The GROUND INDICATOR (red LED) does
not light.
e. When the PROTECTED WHEN LIT
indicator goes out.
Solution
If the light is not illuminated, this indicates that
there is a possible problem with the AC outlet
that the unit is connected to, such as bad
ground, missed ground, or reversed wiring.
User is advised to disconnect all electrical
equipment from the outlet. You will need to
contact an electrician to have this problem
corrected. If the light was on, but has
suddenly gone out, the ground has sustained
damage. Discontinue use immediately and
contact technical support as directed by the
warranty instructions.
IMPORTANT
!
!
Operating this surge protector from a non-
grounded outlet will invalidate your “Connected
Equipment Guarantee”, and put your valuable
equipment at risk.
