some brands of audio components.
Frequently used buttons glow in the
dark, making it easy to find the cor-
rect functions even at night.
• Adaptive Video
Noise Reduction
• Dynamic BlackStretch
Circuitry
Extends black levels in bright
scenes to enhance contrast
and detail.
Computer-aligned 10-bit digital
circuitry provides precise and con-
sistent picture performance from
the moment the TV is turned on.
Combined with Dynamic Focus, it
maximizes picture brightness with
sharper corner focus ensuring a
beautifully detailed picture across
the entire screen.
Video noise filter greatly reduces
noisy picture interference by
automatically adjusting to the
incoming signal level, providing a
cleaner and more consistent over-
all picture.
Automatically maintains natural
tones and color fidelity
from channel to channel and
scene to scene.
• Auto Color Balance
(also called Auto Kine
Bias — AKB)
Resets individual picture tube guns
(Red, Green, Blue) to maintain
consistent overall picture quality
for the life of the tube.
3-Line Digital Comb Filter
Digital separation technology for
color and edge detail dramatically
enhances picture resolution by
eliminating blurred edges between
colors and reducing dot crawl,
producing a new level of picture
sharpness and detail.
• Adjustable Color Warmth
Customer-selectable color
temperature system allows for
background color balance adjust-
ment of the picture to personal
preference. Setting choices are
Cool, Warm (Warm = NTSC
6500°k), or Normal.
• Wide Band Video Amplifier
Delivers high resolution and clarity
by extending the video frequency
response. Optimizes performance
from high-resolution sources such
as the RCA Satellite System, DVD
players, and S-Video signals
High-Performance Scan
Velocity Modulation (SVM)
Improved SVM circuitry automat-
ically varies the scanning speed of
the picture tube’s electron beam
to improve sharpness and detail
especially in high contrast areas.
• Contrast/Color
Tracking System
Synchronizes contrast and
color settings to maintain
vibrant images.
(S-VHS, Hi8).
• Dynamic Focus
Improves corner and edge focus
for an overall sharper picture.
• Adjustable Picture Control
Custom picture settings are just a
button press away. Adjust and
store Contrast, Color, Tint, Black
Level, and Sharpness settings for
personal picture performance
depending on your own individual
tastes.
Dark-Tint Screen — 25%
Improved Brightness
New screen design improves
brightness by 25% while utilizing
dark-tint double lenticular and
fresnel levels to enhance picture
contrast with blacker blacks,
brilliant whites, and deep rich
colors.
• First Surface
Reflective Mirror
Provides maximum picture bright-
ness and sharpness by reflecting
more light from the front surface of
the mirror.
• Preferred Picture Presets
Optimize the picture by selecting
the correct setting depending on
the lighting conditions of the room.
Choose between four settings for
bright lighting, normal lighting, dim

selectable and savable “personal”
setting.
• Custom Convergence
Adjustment
• High Output, Liquid Cooled-
and-Coupled Picture Tubes
High output picture tubes are liquid
coupled to a precision optical sys-
tem to deliver bright, clear images.
When the Earth’s magnetic field
interferes with the Projection TV
alignment, adjustable convergence
provides fine tuning for red, blue,
and green Projection TV tubes. The
8-bit DA (digital-to-analog) con-
verter allows much finer alignment
for restoring picture performance
to its original setting.
• High Transmittance

feature that provides an instant summary of your favorite TV
shows at the touch of a buttonyet requires no monthly

Advanced Twin Tuner
Picture-In-Picture
• Picture Reset
• Programmable Timer System
Convenient scheduling system can
be used in a variety of ways:
–Sleep Timer
Program rating information is sent
by the broadcaster continuously
during the program. The television
will match program rating to user
preference and block the entire
program (when program is aired
with the encoded signal). User
preference is secured using a
four-digit password.
Instantly returns picture to factory
settings for Color, Tint, Contrast,
Brightness, and Sharpness.
Two built-in, independent tuning
systems allow both large-picture and
small-picture viewing without the
need for a second external video
source (e.g., VCR). In addition to the
standard RCA PIP feature of Swap,
the Twin Tuner PIP System also
provides:
Automatically turns off the TV after
a preset time period — for those
times when you drift off to sleep in
front of the television.
• Advanced Auto
Channel Search
Auto Cable/Air Switch sets tuner to
cable or “off-air” frequencies during
initial setup. Then system auto-
matically scans for and locks active
channels into channel memory.
–Alarm Timer
Wake up to your favorite morning
show or turn on your television au-
tomatically to catch your favorite
program.
• Non-Volatile Memory
In case of most power outages, the
picture adjustments and channel
selections are stored in electronic
memory.
–Continuous Move
Permits placement of the small
picture anywhere on the screen.
–Commercial Skip-to-PIP
This exclusive RCA feature allows
the main picture to move to the PIP
window simultaneously with the
activation of an on-screen count-
down timer. The viewer can then
monitor the original program while
browsing through other channels
during commercial breaks.
• On-Screen Menu System
On-screen displays make it easy
to adjust most picture, sound, and
convenience features from either the
remote control or the TV front panel
buttons.
–Scheduling Timer
Since the alarm setting remains in
the TV memory indefinitely, the TV
can be scheduled to turn on at the
same time every day.
• Caption Vision
Caption Capability
Closed
8
Assists the hearing impaired, helps
children learn to read, and aids in the
teaching of English as a second
language. Built-in Closed Caption
Decoder displays the audio portion
of a program as text on the TV
screen (when program is aired with
the encoded signal).
• Interactive Setup Menu
Convenient on-screen menu system
automatically steps user through the
initial setup procedures.
Assign on-screen characters to easily
identify channels (e.g., NBC, HBO,
ESPN, VH-1).
• Auto Tune
• Front Panel Lockout
Completely disables front panel
controls to prevent toddlers from
altering settings.
After initial setup, just pressing one
component button on the TV’s
remote (either VCR, RCA Satellite
System, cable, or DVD) turns on
both the TV and the component
and also automatically tunes the
TV to the correct viewing channel.
Just one press!
• Trilingual On-Screen Display
Allows the on-screen menu system
to be displayed in one of three
languages (English, French, or
Spanish).
• Slim Cabinet Design
Unique optics system utilizes radius
phosphor tubes to shorten the
interior light path resulting in
enhanced picture quality with a
super-slim cabinet profile with
reduced depth.
• V-Chip Parental Control
Puts control back into the hands of
the viewer by blocking unwanted
television broadcasts with U.S.
Government required circuitry. Blocks
three types of programs: regular
television programs, broadcast
movies and unrated programs.
• On-Screen Time and
Channel Display
Displays time and channel number
at the press of a button.
• Picture Memory for
Video Inputs
