Pixels Policy
Syntax's D.O.A. Policy for LCD TVs for
Defective Pixels on LCD Panels
(Applicable to theLCD TV sold within USA& Canada only)
SyntaxTM LCD TVs areevaluated at a distanceof approximately 50 centimeters
(approximately 20 inches) betweenthe LCD panel andthe eyes of theuser at a
90 degrees viewing angle. All LCD panelshave been tested toensure they
comply with our factorystandards. Our evaluation isbased on the numberof
defective pixels and thedistance between any twodefective pixels. Bright dots
are dots that appearbright and unchanged insize when a LCDTV screen
displays under a blackpattern; dark dots aredots that appear darkand
unchanged in size whena LCD TVscreen is displayed underpure red, green,
or blue patterns ("defectivepixels"). Adjacent dotsare dots located directly
next to each other.
Customers are required tocheck their LCD panelimmediately after purchase.
To identifydefective pixels, the LCDpanel should be examinedunder normal
operating conditions as mentionedabove, preferably in itsnative display
resolution, and with a90 degrees viewing angle.
A LCDTV will be considereddead on arrival (D.O.A.)with regards to defective
pixels on the LCDpanel when any oneof the following criteriais met:
A totalof 7 defective pixelsincluding both bright dotsand dark dots are
present (the typical 30"LCD Television screen has 16.7million pixels), or
2 or more pairsof adjacent bright dotsare present, or
3 adjacent bright dotsare present, or
3 adjacent dark dotsare present.
In view of customers'concerns about dead pixels,Syntax would like toaddress
that defective pixels arenot ultimately avoidable withthe current LCD industry
standard panel manufacturing processes. We always striveto improve our
technology and minimize thechance of occurrence ofdefective pixels by
applying strict screening processesin our factory productionprocesses.
However, Syntax cannotguarantee that a returnunit to our customerswill be
100% free of defectivepixels.
For questions, please callour toll free servicenumber in the USAat 888-SYNTAX-8.
"At SyntaxGroups, a satisfied customer is our
most important focus."
