Before Using your Dishwasher
Water hardness varies according
to where you live. If the water in
your home is hard, without water
softening, incrustations would
form on your dishes. Your
dishwasher is fitted with a water
softener which uses special salt to
get rid of limescale in the water.

insoluble substances which could
harm your dishwasher.
Salt
Filling the salt container.
Always use salt which is intended for dishwasher use.
The salt container is situated underneath the lower basket, fill it up as
follows:
1.Pull out the lower basket completely, unscrew and remove the
container cap
2. If it is the first time you add the salt, first fill the container up with
water (you won't have to do this again next time)
3. Put the dishwasher funnel on the hole and pour in approximately
two kilos of salt. It is normal that some water comes out of the
container.
4. Screw the cap back in place carefully.
When to add salt:
WARNING:
DO NOT pour detergent into the special salt container - This will
destroy the water softener.
The salt container should be filled up when the low salt indicator light
“S” flashes.
The dishwasher will remind you to do so for five consecutive wash
cycles.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
3 in 1 dishwasher tablets are now available. These combine detergent, salt and rinse aid ALL IN ONE. If the water in your area is hard or very
hard, we still recommend you add salt to the salt container to prevent white streaks on your dishes and in the dishwashers interior.
Add rinse aid to the dispenser, only if you are dissatisfied with the results.
In all cases, please read the manufacturers instructions on the packet.
If you are only using the 3 in 1 products, after a number of cycles it is normal for the salt and rinse aid indicator lights toflash permanently.

- Especially long utensils

results in reduced perfor-

How to Use the Upper Rack
The upper rack is designed
to hold more delicate and
lighter dishware, such as
glasses, coffee and tea
cups and saucers, as well
as plates, small bowls and
shallow pans (as long as
they are not too dirty).
- Position the dishes and
cookware so that they do
not get moved by the spray
of water.
If the pots and pans have
baked-on food that is
extremely hard to remove,
we recommend that they be
allowed to soak before they
are washed. This will elimi-
nate the need for extra wash
cycles.
Pull out the racks to facili-
tate loading the dishwasher.
How to Use the Lower

How to adjust the Upper
rack ...
We recommend that you
place the most difficult to
clean items on the bottom
rack: pots, pans, lids,
serving dishes and bowls,
as shown in the figure to the
right.
It is preferable to place
serving dishes and lids on
the sides of the racks in
order to avoid blocking the
rotation of the top spray arm.
- Pots, serving bowls, etc.
must always be placed top
down.
The top rack can be adjusted
using the two rack heights
(top and bottom). To adjust
the rack, open up the tabs
that lock the guides and pull
out the rack. Arrange the rack
with the back wheels in either
the top or bottom position and
then insert it along the guides
until the front wheels are on
as well. Close the tabs to lock
the rack in place (see Fig. F).
