2. Turn the power OFF before moving the GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24).

“Lift” the ground by moving the GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) to the

RIGHT, turn the power back ON and listen to determine which position

provides a signal devoid of background noise and hum. Keep the

GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) in the “ground” position if the noise level

remains the same in either position.

INTRODUCTION:

Congratulations on your purchase of the Gemini PMX-1400,1800 or 2400

mixer. This state-of-the-art unit is backed by a three year warranty,

excluding crossfader and channel slides. Prior to use, we suggest that

you carefully read all the instructions.

CAUTION: DO NOT TERMINATE THE AC GROUND ON THE MIXER CABLE. TERMINATION OF

THE AC GROUND CAN BE HAZARDOUS!

1. POWER: Once you have made all the equipment connections to your

mixer, press the POWER (2) switch. The power will turn on and the

POWER LED (3) will glow RED.

• Balanced and Unbalanced Master Outputs

• 3 Phono/Line Convertible, 5 Line, and 2 Mic Inputs

2. CHANNEL 1: Switch (25) allows you to select PHONO 1/LINE 1 (17) or

the LINE 2 (16) input. CHANNEL SLIDE (26) controls the input level of

this channel.

3. CHANNEL 2: Switch (27) allows you to select PHONO 2/LINE 3 (14) or

the LINE 4 (13) input. CHANNEL SLIDE (28) controls the input level of

this channel.

CAUTIONS:

1. All operating instructions should be carefully read before using this

equipment.

4. CHANNEL 3: Switch (29) allows you to select PHONO 3/LINE 5 (11) or

the LINE 6 (10) input. CHANNEL SLIDE (30) controls the input level of

this channel.

2. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not open the unit.

THERE ARE NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS INSIDE.

Please refer servicing to a qualified service technician.

5. CHANNEL 4: Switch (31) allows you to select either the LINE 7 (9) or

LINE 8 (8) input. CHANNEL SLIDE (32) controls the input level of this

channel.

6. CROSSFADER: The CROSSFADER (33) allows the mixing of one

source into another. The mixer features an assignable crossfader. The

ASSIGN (34, 35) switches allow you to select which channel will play

through each side of the crossfader.

3. Do not expose this unit to direct sunlight or to a heat source such as a

radiator or stove.

4. This unit should be cleaned only with a damp cloth. Avoid solvents or

other cleaning detergents.

7. ASSIGN (34) switch has five settings (OFF, 1, 2, 3 and 4) and allows you

to direct Channel 1, 2, 3 or 4 through the LEFT side of the crossfader.

ASSIGN (35) switch also has five settings (OFF, 1, 2, 3 and 4) and allows

you to direct Channel 1, 2, 3 or 4 through the RIGHT side of the

crossfader. Placing either ASSIGN switch in the OFF position inactivates

that side of the crossfader.

5. When moving this equipment, it should be placed in its original carton and

packaging. This will reduce the risk of damage during transit.

6. DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.

CROSSFADER SECTION: The CROSSFADER (33) allows the mixing

of one source into another. The left side of the CROSSFADER (33) is

CHANNEL 1 and the right side is CHANNEL 2. The CROSSFADER (33)

in your unit is removable and if the need arises can be easily replaced.

Your Gemini mixer comes with an RG-45 PRO (RAILGLIDE™) Dual-

Rail Crossfader. RAIL GLIDE™ crossfaders have internal dual stainless

steel rails that allow the slider to ride smoothly and accurately from end to

end. Also available is our CF-45 PRO (PROGLIDE™) Dual-Rail

Crossfader. This unique crossfader features, state of the art conductive

plastic technology, for unlimited useage. Another crossfader we have

available is the PSF-45 (PRO SCRATCH™) crossfader with a special

curve designed for scratch mixing. Just purchase one from your Gemini

dealer and follow the instructions:

7. DO NOT USE SPRAY CLEANER OR LUBRICANT ON CONTROLS OR

SWITCHES.

CONNECTIONS:

1. Before plugging the power cord in, make sure that the VOLTAGE

SELECTOR (1) switch is set to the correct voltage.

NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS DOUBLE INSULATED AND IS NOT INTENDED TO BE GROUNDED.

2. Make sure that the POWER (2) switch is in the OFF position.

The POWER LED (3) display will be off.

3. The PMX-1400, PMX 1800, and PMX 2400 are supplied with 4 sets of

output jacks:

•

The BALANCED MASTER OUTPUT (4) jacks connect the mixer to

main amplifier using standard cables with 1/4” connectors. We recommend

using balanced cables if the distance to your amp is 10 feet or more.

The AMP OUTPUT (5) jacks also connect to the main amplifier.

The BOOTH OUTPUT (6) jacks allow the connection of an additional amplifier.

The REC OUTPUT (7) jacks can be used to connect the mixer to the

record input of your recording unit, thus enabling you to record your mix.

4. The MIC 1 (19) input (located on the front panel) accepts an XLR

connector. The MIC 2 (20) input (on the rear panel) accepts 1/4"

connectors. Both accept balanced and unbalanced microphones.

5. On the rear panel are 3 stereo PHONO/LINE (11, 14, 17) inputs and 5

stereo LINE (8, 9, 10, 13, 16) inputs:

PHONO/LINE SWITCH (18) enables you to set the (17) input to Phono or Line.

PHONO/LINE SWITCH (15) enables you to set the (14) input to Phono or Line.

PHONO/LINE SWITCH (12) enables you to set the (11) input to Phono or Line.

• Unscrew the FADER PLATE SCREWS (B).

• Do not touch the INSIDE SCREWS (C).

• Carefully lift the fader and unplug the CABLE (D).

• Plug the new fader into CABLE (D) and place it back in the mixer.

• Screw the fader to the mixer with the FADER PLATE SCREWS (B).

6. Attach phono ground lines to the GROUND THUMB SCREW (21).

7. Headphones may be plugged into the front panel mounted HEADPHONE

(22) jack.

8. EQUALIZER: This unit features dual 7 band GRAPHIC EQUALIZERS

(36, 37) that allow you to adjust the sound to fit any room. Activate the

equalizer by pressing EQ BUTTON (38) (EQ LED is illuminated). By

adjusting any of the 7 LEFT (36) equalizer slide controls, you can cut or

boost the tonal characteristics of the sound coming from the LEFT

speaker by ±12 dB. Adjusting any of the 7 RIGHT (37) equalizer slide

controls allows you to cut or boost the tonal characteristics of the sound

coming from the RIGHT speaker by ±12 dB. Deactivate the equalizer by

pressing the EQ BUTTON (38) again (EQ LED is OFF).

8. The PMX-1400, 1800, & 2400 comes with a front panel BNC LIGHT (23) jack

for use with a (not provided) gooseneck light such as the Gemini GNL-700.

USING THE GROUND LIFT SWITCH:

Depending on your system configuration, application of the ground will

sometimes create a quieter signal path. Lifting the ground occasionally

eliminates ground loops and “hum” to create a quieter signal.

9. OUTPUT CONTROL: The level of the AMP OUTPUT (5) is controlled by

the MASTER (39) slide. Activating the MONO (40) button (MONO LED is

illuminated) converts the overall output to mono. The BOOTH (41)

control adjusts the level of the BOOTH OUTPUT (6).

1. With the mixer ON, listen to the system in “idle” mode (no signal

present) and with the ground “applied” and the GROUND LIFT SWITCH

(24) in the LEFT position.

HINT: BOOTH OUTPUT IS USED BY SOME DJS TO RUN MONITOR SPEAKERS IN THE DJ

BOOTH. IT IS ALSO USED AS A SECOND ZONE OR AMP OUTPUT.

3. Tapping the START/STOP (55) button with the MODE SELECTOR (53)

switch in the SINGLE position causes sampler to play back one time (the

SAMPLER INDICATOR will “glow” GREEN). Each push of the START/

STOP (55) button restarts the sample from the beginning. Rapid pressing

of the START/STOP (55) button will cause a stuttering effect. Once the

sample has started playback and the START/STOP (55) button is not

pushed a second time, the sample will play to the end and stop.

NOTE: REC OUTPUT HAS NO LEVEL CONTROL. LEVEL IS CONTROLLED WITH THE

CHANNEL SLIDES OF THE SELECTED CHANNEL(S). TONE IS CONTROLLED BY THE

EQUALIZERS.

10.TALKOVER: The purpose of the talkover is to allow the program playing

to be muted so that the MIC may be heard above the music. The MIC/

TALKOVER SWITCH (42) controls MIC 1 and MIC 2 and has 3 settings:

4. Tapping the START/STOP (55) button with the MODE SELECTOR (53)

switch in the REPEAT position causes the sample to play continuously.

The START/STOP (55) button acts an ON/OFF switch. The first push

starts the sample, the second push stops it. The SAMPLER LEVEL (56)

controls the level of the sample. Press the SAMPLER CUE (57) to hear

the sample that is being CUED up.

When MIC/TALKOVER (42) is in the BOTTOM position, MIC 1, MIC 2

and TALKOVER are all OFF.

When MIC/TALKOVER (42) is in the CENTER position, MIC 1 and MIC 2

are ON. MIC INDICATOR (43) glows when TALKOVER is OFF.

When MIC/TALKOVER SWITCH (42) is in the TOP position, MIC 1, MIC 2

and TALKOVER are ON and the volume of all sources except MIC inputs

is lowered by 16 dB.

ROBO PLAY:

11.TREBLE (46) and BASS (47) controls allow you to adjust the tone of MIC

1 and MIC 2. MIC 1 LEVEL (44) controls the level of MIC 1 while MIC 2

LEVEL (45) controls the level of MIC 2.

1. With the ROBO PLAY (58) button OFF and the MODE SELECTOR (53)

switch in either the SINGLE or REPEAT mode, pressing the START/

STOP (55) button will cause the sample to play along with the selected

source.

12.CUE: By connecting a set of headphones to the HEADPHONE (22) jack,

you can monitor any or all channels. Press CUE ASSIGN (48) buttons for

Channels 1 through 4 and select the Channel(s) to be monitored. The

respective LED indicators will glow. Use the CUE LEVEL (49) control to

adjust the cue volume without changing the overall mix. By moving the

CUE PGM PAN (50) control to the LEFT you will be able to monitor the

assigned cue signal. Moving the control to the RIGHT allows you to

monitor PGM (program) output.

2. When the ROBO PLAY (58) button is in the ON position starting the

sampler mutes the selected source. When the sample ends, the source

automatically turns back on.

BATTERY BACKUP:

BATTERY BACKUP: The PMX-2400 is equipped with battery backup to

retain samples. To activate this feature, a 9 volt battery (not included)

should be connected to the BATTERY HOLDER (59) located on the rear

panel. This enables the storage of samples in memory. When the unit is

unplugged, the battery backup retains the samples for future use.

13.DISPLAY: The DISPLAY (51) indicates the MASTER output of the left and

right levels.

NOTE: IF THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED WITH NO BATTERY ATTACHED, ALL SAMPLES WILL BE

LOST.

PMX-1800 ONLY:

1. ECHO SECTION: Echo can be applied by pressing the ECHO (52) button

(the LED will light). You can adjust the LEVEL (53), REPEAT (54) and

DELAY (55) parameters of the echo by using the ECHO controls. To turn

the echo off, push the ECHO (52) button again (the LED will turn off).

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR: A low battery indicator is included with the

PMX-2400. When changing the battery, make sure the unit is plugged in

and the power is ON. Failure to adhere to this will result in lost memory

and “vanished” samples. The low battery indicator is ON when the

selected memory bank LED blinks. The LED blinks a warning if no battery

is connected to the unit.

2. SOUND EFFECTS SECTION: Six different sound effects (UFO, TRON

BLAST, SIREN, GAS, MACHINE GUN & EMERGENCY) may be added

to your mix by depressing the SOUND EFFECTS CONTROL BUTTONS

(56). The volume of the effects can be adjusted using the EFFECTS

LEVEL CONTROL (57). The pitch of the effects can be increased or

decreased using the EFFECTS SPEED CONTROL (58).

RAM memory and a 12 bit microprocessor controller. This full bandwidth

results in true sound reproduction.

GENERAL:

MEMORY INFORMATION: The PMX-2400 is equipped with five

MEMORY BANKS (52). The two banks marked 2 & 2 are two seconds in

length, the two banks marked 4 & 4 are four seconds in length and the

bank marked 12 is twelve seconds in length. These banks are separate

and CAN NOT be linked. You can store a different sample in each bank,

but they must be recorded individually and must be played one at a time.

SAMPLE RECORDING:

1. Put the MODE SELECTOR (53) switch into the WRITE position.

2. Select the sample source by pressing the appropriate CUE/SAMPLE (48)

assign button(s).

3. Select the “record to” memory bank by pressing the proper MEMORY

BANK (52) button.

4. The PMX-2400 comes equipped with a sampler PITCH (54) control. To

get a “perfect” sample, set the control to its center position and record

the sample. Raising or lowering the control during playback raises or

lowers the pitch of the sample. The center position retains the “normal” pitch.

HINT: YOU CAN RECORD A SAMPLE WITH THE PITCH CONTROL IN ANY POSITION.

WHATEVER THAT POSITION IS WILL BECOME NORMAL SOUND. IF YOU START TO

RECORD A SAMPLE WITH THE PITCH CONTROL SET AT “MINIMUM” THAT WILL BECOME

YOUR NORMAL PITCH. BY INCREASING THE PITCH TO “MAXIMUM” DURING PLAYBACK,

THE PITCH EFFECT WILL DOUBLE IN SPEED. RECORDING AT “MAXIMUM” AND

LOWERING TO “MINIMUM” DURING PLAYBACK WILL DO EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE.

5. Tapping the START/STOP (55) button begins the sampling process (the

SAMPLER INDICATOR will “glow” RED). Tapping the START/STOP

(55) button a second time ends the sample (the SAMPLER INDICATOR

will turn off). If you do not tap the START/STOP (55) button a second

time, the sampling process stops automatically after 2, 4 or 12 seconds

depending on which MEMORY BANK (52) was selected.

SAMPLE PLAYBACK:

1. Set the MODE SELECTOR (53) switch to SINGLE or REPEAT.

2. Select the desired memory bank by pressing the proper MEMORY BANK

(52) button.

auszuwählen. CHANNEL SLIDE (32) regelt den Ausgangstonsignal dieses Kanals.

durch jede Seite des Überblenders spielen wird.

4. Dieses Gerät darf nur mit einem feuchten Tuch gesäubert werden. Keine Lösungs-

oder Reinigungsmittel benutzen.

7. Der ASSIGN (34)-Schalter hat 5 Einstellungen (OFF, 1, 2, 3 oder 4) und ermöglicht

Ihnen, Kanäle 1, 2, 3 oder 4 durch die linke Seite des Überblenders zu spielen. Der

ASSIGN (35)-Schalter hat 5 Einstellungen (OFF, 1, 2, 3 oder 4) und ermöglicht

Ihnen, Kanäle 1, 2, 3 oder 4 durch die rechte Seite des Überblenders zu spielen.

Wenn der ASSIGN-Schalter in OFF-Position steht, ist diese Seite des

Überblenders unwirksam.

5. Bei Umzügen sollte das Gerät in seinem ursprünglichen Versandkarton und

Verpackungsmaterial verpackt werden. Dadurch verhindert man, daß das Gerät

während des ransportes beschädigt wird.

6. DIESES GERÄT NICHT REGEN ODER FEUCHTsIGKEIT AUSSETZEN.

7. AN DEN REGLERN ODER SCHALTERN KEIN SPRAY-

ÜBERBLENDER-BEREICH: Der CROSSFADER (33) ermöglicht das Mischen von

Tonquellen. Die linke Seite des CROSSFADER (33) ist Kanal 2 und die rechte ist

Kanal 3. Der CROSSFADER (33) Ihres Geräts kann entfernt werden und läßt sich

bei Bedarf leicht ersetzen. Überblender sind in drei Größen verfügbar. Der RG-45

PRO (RAIL GLIDE^TM) Dual-Rail Crossfader. Die Rail Glide™ Überblender enthalten

innere Schienen aus rostfreiem Stahl, die dem Benutzer ermöglichen, den Überblender

sanft und genau von der einen zur anderen Seite zu schieben. Auch ist unser CF-

45 PRO (PROGLIDE™) Dual-Rail Crossfadervorhanden. Dieses einzigartige

Überblender Eigenschaften, Zustand der kunstleitenden Plastiktechnologie, für

unbegrenztes useage. Ein anderes Überblender, das wir haben ist Teile-Nr. PSF-45

mit einer Spezialkrümmung für Raspelmischen verfügbar. Sie können einen dieser

Überblender bei Ihrem Gemini-Händler beziehen und diese Anweisungen befolgen:

REINIGUNGSMITTEL ODER SCHMIERMITTEL BENUTZEN.

ANSCHLÜSSE:

1. Bevor Sie das Stromkabel anschließen, darauf achten, daß der VOLTAGE

SELECTOR (1) (Spannungswähler) auf die richtige Spannung einstellt ist.

HINWEIS: DIESES PRODUKT IST DOPPELISOLIERT UND DARF NICHT GEERDET WERDEN.

2. Darauf achten, daß der Spannungsschalter POWER (2) in OFF-Position geschaltet

ist. Die POWER LED (3) wird ausgeschaltet sein.

3. Der PMX-1400, PMX-1800, & PMX-2400 verfügt über 4 Ausgangsbuchsenpaare:

Die Buchsen BALANCED MASTER OUTPUT (4) sind unkompensiert und dienen

zum Anschluß an den Hauptverstärker.

Die Buchsen AMP OUTPUT (5) sind und dienen zum Anschluß an den

Hauptverstärker.

Die Buchsen BOOTH OUTPUT (6) ermöglichen Anschluß an einen zusätzlichen

Verstärker.

Die Buchsen REC OUTPUT (7) können dazu dienen, das Mischpult an den

Aufnahmeeingang des Aufnahmegerätes anzuschließen, die Tonmischung

aufnehmen zu können.

4. Der Eingang MIC 1 (19) (an der Vorderseite) hat einen Durchmesser von XLR.

Der Eingang MIC 2 (20) hat einen Durchmesser von 0.38 mm (1/4"). Alle nehmen

balanzierte und unbalanzierte Mikrophone auf.

5. An der Rückwand sind jeweils 3 Stereoeingänge PHONO/LINE (11, 14, 17) und 5

Stereoeingänge LINE (8, 9, 10, 13, 16):

BENUTZUNG DES MASSE-

TRENNSCHALTERS:

9. AUSGANGSREGELUNG: Der Verstärkerausgangspegel AMP OUT (5) wird vom

Schieberegler MASTER (39) geregelt. Beim Aktivieren der Taste MONO (40) (die

MONO-LED erleuchtet) ist der Ausgang Mono. Der Regler BOOTH (41) justiert den

Pegel des BOOTH OUTPUT (6).

Abhängig von Ihrer Systemkonfiguration, wenn man hin und wieder Masse anlegt,

kann man damit einen ruhigeren Signalpfad schaffen. Wenn man hin und wieder

die Masse trennt, kann man dadurch Massekreise und Brummen eliminieren, um

einen ruhigeren Signalpfad schaffen.

EMPFEHLUNG: DIE KABINEN AUSGANG WIRD VON EINIGEN DJS BENUTZT, UM DIE

LAUTSPRECHER IN DER DJ-KABINE ZU ÜBERWACHEN. EBENFALLS KANN ES ALS

ZWEITER ZONE - ODER AMP-AUSGANG BENUTZT WERDEN.

HINWEIS: RECORD OUT ENTHÄLT KEINE TONSTÄRKENREGELUNG. DIE TONSTÄRKE WIRD

DURCH KANAL-SCHIEBEVORRICHTUNGEN. DIE TONQUALITÄT KANN MIT DEM

ENTZERRER GEREGELT WERDEN.

bei angelegster Masse abhorchen (der Masse-Trennschalter (24) ist nach LINKS

10.TALKOVER: Durch die Talkover-Funktion wird das abgespielte Programm

gedämpft, um eine Ansage über das Mikrophon hören zu können. Der Schalter

MIC/TALKOVER (42) kontrolliert MIC 1 und MIC 2 und hat drei Einstellungen:

3. Ein kurzer Druck auf die Taste START/STOP (55), während der MODE SELECTOR

(53) sich im Modus SINGLE (Einzeln) befindet, läßt den Sampler das Sample

einmal abspielen (die Samplinganzeige SAMPLER INDICATOR leuchtet GRÜN

auf). Jedesmal, wenn die Taste START/STOP (55) gedrückt wird, wird das Sample

vom Anfang an wiederholt. Schnelles Drücken der Taste START/STOP (55) bewirkt

eine Art Stottern. Wenn Abspielen des Samples eingeleitet wurde und die Taste

START/STOP (55) nicht ein zweites Mal kurz gedrückt wird, wird das Sample bis

zum Ende abgespielt und endet dann (die Samplinganzeige SAMPLER

INDICATOR schaltet aus).

Wenn der Schalter MIC/TALKOVER (42) in der UNTEREN position steht, sind MIC

1,MIC 2 und TALKOVER beide AUSGESCHLTET.

•

Steht der Schalter MIC/TALKOVER (42) in der MITTLEREN position, ist MIC 1,

MIC 2 EINGESCHALTET. Der MIC-ANZEIGER (43) ist erleuchtet, jedoch ist

TALKOVER AUSGESCHLTET.

•

Wenn der Schalter MIC/TALKOVER (42) in der OBEREN position steht, sind MIC 1,

MIC 2 und TALKOVER EINGESCHALTET und Lautstärken aller Tonquellen, außer

des MIC-Eingangs, werden um 16 dB reduziert.

4. Ein kurzer Druck auf die Taste START/STOP (55), während der Modus-

Auswahlschalter sich im Modus REPEAT (Wiederholen) befindet, läßt den Sampler

das Sample wiederholt abspielen (die Samplinganzeige SAMPLER INDICATOR

leuchtet GRÜN auf). Die Taste START/STOP funktioniert dann als EIN/AUS-

Schalter. Mit dem ersten Druck wird das Sample vom Anfang an abgespielt, mit

dem zweiten Druck wird es ausgeschaltet. Der SAMPLER LEVEL (56) reguliert die

Tonstärke des Samples. Betätigen Sie SAMPLER CUE (57), um die Probe zu

hören, bevor Sie mischen.

11. Die Regler TREBLE (46) und BASS (47) ermöglichen Ihnen, den Ton von MIC 1

und MIC 2 zu regulieren. MIC 1 LEVEL (44) reguliert die Tonstärke von MIC 1. MIC

2 LEVEL (45) reguliert die Tonstärke von MIC 2.

12.CUE: Indem Sie die Kopfhörer an der Buchse KOPFHÖRER (22) anschließen,

können Sie einen oder alle Kanäle kontrollieren. Drücken Sie die Tasten CUE

ASSIGN (48) für Kanäle 1-4, um den/die zu kontrollierende/n Kanal/Kanäle

auswählen, und deren jeweilige LED-Anzeigen werden aufleuchten. Betätigen Sie

den Regler CUEING LEVEL (49), um die Mithörlautstärke einzustellen, ohne dabei

die allgemeine Mischung zu beeinträchtigen. Indem Sie den Regler CUE PGM PAN

(50) nach LINKS schieben, können Sie das zugewiesene Mithörsignal kontrollieren.

Nach RECHTS schieben wird die PGM-Programm Ausgabe kontrolliert.

ROBOTER-ABSPIELEN:

1. Wenn die Taste ROBO PLAY (58) auf OFF (Aus) steht (die Anzeige ROBO PLAY

INDICATOR ist aus) und der MODE SELECTOR sich entweder im Modus

SINGLE oder REPEAT (Einzeln bzw. Wiederholen) befindet, läßt ein Druck auf

die Taste START/STOP (55) das Sample mit der ausgewählten Quelle zusammen

abspielen.

13.DISPLAY: Die DISPLAY (51) zeigt entweder die linken und rechten Ausgangspegel

des Regiepults MASTER an.

2. Wenn die Taste ROBO PLAY auf ON (Ein) steht (die Anzeige ROBO PLAY

INDICATOR leuchtet ROT auf), wird die ausgewählte Quelle auf stumm gestellt,

wenn der Sampler eingeschaltet wird. Wenn das Sample beendet ist, schaltet die

Quelle automatisch wieder an.

PMX-1800 EINZIG:

1. ECHO: Das Echo kann angewandt werden, indem Sie die Taste ECHO (52)

drücken (die LED wird aufleuchten). Sie können die ECHO-Parameter LEVER

(53), (PEGEL), REPEAT (54) (WIEDERHOLEN) und DELAY (55) (VERZÖGERN)

regulieren, indem Sie die ECHO-Regler benutzen. Um das ECHO abzuschalten,

drücken Sie die Taste ECHO (52) noch einmal (die EQ-LED wird sich ausschalten).

BATTERIEHILFSVERSORGUNG:

Das Mischpult PMX-2400 ist mit einer Batteriehilfsversorgung ausgerüstet, die dazu

dient, die Samples im Speicher zu behalten. Um dieses Merkmal zu aktivieren, muß

eine 9-Volt-Batterie (nicht mitgeliefert) an den Batteriehalter BATTERY HOLDER

(59) an der hinteren Schalttafel angeschlossen werden. Das erlaubt Ihnen, die

Samples zu speichern und für zukünftigen Gebrauch zu behalten, auch wenn das

Gerät ausgestöpselt wird.

2. SCHALLEFFEKTENTEIL: Sollte man auf die SOUND EFFECTS CONTROL

BUTTONS (56) (Schalleffektenregler) drücken, so kann man sechs verschiedenen

Effekten (UFO, KERNEXPLOSION, SIRENEN, AUSPUFF, MASCHINENGEWEHR

und NOTALARM) zu dieser Mischung hinzufügen. Bei Benutzung des

Lautstärkereglers EFFECTS LEVEL CONTROL (57) kann man das Volumen der

Effekten regulieren. Die Tonhöhe der Effekten wird erhöht oder vermindert bei

Benutzung des Geschwindigkeitsreglers EFFECTS SPEED CONTROL (58).

HINWEIS: WENN DAS GERÄT AUSGESTÖPSELT WIRD UND KEINE BATTERIE

ANGESCHLOSSEN IST, GEHEN DIE SAMPLES VERLOREN.

ANZEIGE BATTERIE SCHWACH: Eine Anzeige “Batterie schwach” wird mit dem

PMX-2400 mitgeliefert. Wenn die Batterie ausgewechselt wird, sicherstellen, daß

das Gerät eingestöpselt ist und der Netzstrom AN ist. Wenn diese Maßnahme nicht

befolgt wird, geht der Speicherinhalt verloren. Die Anzeige “Batterie schwach” ist

an, wenn die LED der ausgewählten Speicherbank aufblinkt. Die LED blinkt auch

auf, wenn keine Batterie an das Gerät angeschlossen ist.

2. Die Quelle, die gesamplet werden soll, auswählen, indem die entsprechende

Zuweisungstaste CUE/SAMPLE ASSIGN (48) gedrückt wird.

3. Die Speicherbank, in welcher die Aufnahme gespeichert werden soll, auswählen,

indem die entsprechende Speicherbanktaste MEMORY BANK (52) gedrückt wird.

4. Das Mischpult PMX-2400 ist mit einer Tonlagensteuerung PITCH (54) für den

Sampler ausgerüstet. Um das Sample “perfekt” einzustellen, diese Steuerung in

die Mittellage stellen und das Sample aufzeichnen. Beim Abspielen wird die

Tonlage des Samples angehoben oder gesenkt, indem die Steuerung höher bzw.

niedriger eingestellt wird. Die Mittelstellung bleibt als “normale” Tonlage.

HINWEIS: WENN EIN SAMPLE AUFGEZEICHNET WIRD, KANN SICH DIE STEUERUNG PITCH IN

INTRODUCCIÓN:

USO DEL INTERRUPTOR DE

SEPARACIÓN DE TIERRA:

Felicitaciones por su compra del mezclador PMX-1400, PMX 1800, o

PMX-2400 de Gemini. Este mezclador de la más avanzada tecnología

está respaldado por una garantía de tres años, salvo el crossfader y los

mandos corredizos de canal. Antes de usarlo, le recomendamos leer

cuidadosamente todas las instrucciones.

Según la configuración de su sistema, a veces el hecho de aplicar la

tierra/masa resultará en una vía de señal con menos ruido. A veces, el

hecho de separar la tierra puede eliminar bucles de tierra y zumbido para

crear una vía de señal con menos ruido.

2. Apague el aparato antes de desplazar el GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24).

Separe la tierra del marco moviendo el GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) a la

DERECHA, prenda el aparato de nuevo y escuche para determinar cual

de las posiciones le dará señal sin ruido de fondo y sin zumbido.

Mantenga el GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) en la posición de puesta a

tierra si el nivel del ruido permanece igual.

FUNCIONES:

1. ENCENDIDO: Una vez que haya efectuado todas las conexiones de los

equipos a su mezclador, oprima el POWER SWITCH (2). Se encenderá

la unidad así como el DEL ROJO de ENERGÍA - POWER LED (3).

PRECAUCIONES:

1. Deberán leerse todas las instrucciones de operación antes de usar el

equipo.

2. CANAL 1: El interruptor (25) le permite seleccionar la entrada PHONO 1/

LINE 1 (17) o LINE 2 (16). El CHANNEL SLIDE (26) (cursor corredizo de

canal) controla el volumen de salida de este canal.

2. Para reducir el riesgo de shock eléctrico, no abra esta unidad.

NO CONTIENE PIEZAS REEMPLAZABLES POR EL USUARIO.

3. CANAL 2: El interruptor (27) le permite seleccionar la entrada PHONO 2/

LINE 3 (14) o LINE 4 (13). El CHANNEL SLIDE (28) (cursor corredizo de

canal) controla el volumen de salida de este canal.

3. No exponga la unidad a la luz solar directa ni a una fuente

de calor, por ejemplo, un radiador o estufa.

4. CANAL 3: El interruptor (29) le permite seleccionar la entrada PHONO 3/

LINE 5 (11) o LINE 6 (10). El CHANNEL SLIDE (30) (cursor corredizo de

canal) controla el volumen de salida de este canal.

4. Esta unidad sólo deberá limpiarse con un paño húmedo. Evite

el uso de disolventes u otros detergentes de limpieza.

5. Para mover este equipo, colóquelo en la caja y empaque original,

5. CANAL 4: El interruptor (31) le permite seleccionar la entrada LINE 7 (9)

o LINE 8 (8). El CHANNEL SLIDE (32) (cursor corredizo de canal)

6. ATENUADOR DE TRANSFERENCIA: El CROSSFADER (33) le permite

mezclar una fuente en otra. El aparato PMX-1400, 1800, y 2400 incluye

un crossfader asignable. Los interruptores ASSIGN (34, 35) le permiten

seleccionar el canal que transmitirá la música por cada lado del crossfader.

7. NO USE LIMPIADORES DE ROCÍO O LUBRICANTES EN

CUALESQUIER CONTROLES O INTERRUPTORES.

CONEXIONES:

7. El interruptor ASSIGN (34) tiene 5 posiciones (OFF, 1, 2, 3, ó 4) et le

permite seleccionar el canal 1, 2, 3 ó 4 para transmitir la música por el

lado IZQUIERDO del crossfader. El interruptor ASSIGN (35) tiene 5

posiciones (OFF, 1, 2, 3 ó 4) y le permite seleccionar el canal 1, 2, 3 ó 4

interruptor ASSIGN en la posición OFF (inactiva), este lado del crossfader

estará inactivo.

1. Antes de conectar el cable de potencia, cerciórese de que el SELECTOR

DE VOLTAJE (1) esté posicionado en la tensión correcta.

NOTA: ESTE PRODUCTO TIENE DOBLE AISLAMIENTO Y NO HACE FALTA PONERLO A TIERRA.

2. Cerciórese de que el interruptor de ENERGÍA (2) (POWER) esté en la

posición off (apagada). El DEL de ENERGÍA (3) estará apagado.

SUGERENCIA: CIERTOS DJ’S SE SIRVEN DE LA SALIDA DE LA CABINA PARA SUS

ALTOVOCES DE MONITOREO EN LA CABINA DJ. TAMBIÉN SE PUEDE UTILIZAR COMO

SEGUNDA SALIDA DE ZONA O DE AMPLIFICADOR.

3. Los aparato PMX-1400, PMX-1800, y PMX-2400 se proveen de 4 series

de jacks de salida:

•

Los jacks BALANCED MASTER OUTPUT (4) equilibrados y se usan

para laconexión al amplificador principal.

Los jacks AMP OUTPUT (5) (amplificador de salida) no son

equilibrados y se usan para la conexión al amplificador principal.

Los jacks BOOTH OUTPUT (6) (cabina de salida) le permiten conectar

otro amplificador.

NOTA: EL RECORD OUT NO TIENE CONTROL DE VOLUMEN. EL VOLUMEN SE ARREGLA

POR LOS CURSORES CORREDIZOS DE LOS CANALES. LAS CALIDADES TONALES

PUEDEN SER CONTROLADAS POR LOS COMPENSADORES.

El CROSSFADER (33) de su aparato es removible y, en caso de

necesidad, su reemplazo es fácil. Se ofrecen unidades de atenuador de

transferencia de tres tamaños: de RG-45 PRO (Rail Glide™) Dual-Rail

Crossfader; de RF-45 tiene un recorrido de 45mm de un lado a otro;

también se ofrece la PSF-45, es de con curva especial diseñada para

mezclar el efecto de frotamiento. También Gemini mezclador se ofrece la

pieza RG-45 PRO (RAIL GLIDE™) 45MM DUAL-RAIL CROSSFADER.

Simplemente compre cualquiera de estas unidades de atenuador de

transferencia de su distribuidor Gemini y siga las instrucciones siguientes:

Los jacks REC OUTPUT (7) se usan para conectar el mezclador a la entrada

de su registrador lo que le permite registrar su propia mezcla de música.

4. La entrada DJ MIC 1 (19) (que se encuentra en el panel delantero)

acepta conector de XLR. La entrada MIC 2 (20) (que se encuentra en el

panel trasero) acepta conector de 1/4 de pulgada. Todas aceptan

smicrófonos equilibrados y no equilibrados.

5. En el panel trasero hay 3 entradas estereofónicas PHONO/LINE (11, 14,

17) y 5 entradas estereofónicas LINE (8, 9, 10, 13, 16).

El conmutador PHONO/LINE (18) le permite arreglar la entrada (17) a

Phono o Line (fonográfico o línea).

El conmutador PHONO/LINE (15) le permite arreglar la entrada (14) a

Phono o Line (fonográfico o línea).

El conmutador PHONO/LINE (12) le permite arreglar la entrada (11) a

Phono o Line (fonográfico o línea). Las entradas fonográficas solamente

aceptarán giradiscos con cartucha magnética.

5. Dando golpecitos al botón de START/STOP (55) comienza el proceso de

muestreo (El INDICADOR DE MUESTREO iluminará ROJO). Dando

golpecitos por segunda vez al botón START/STOP (55) finaliza la muestra

(El INDICADOR DE MUESTREO se apagará). Si usted no dá golpecito al

botón START/STOP (55) por una segunda vez, el proceso de muestreo

parará automáticamente después de 2, 4, o 12 segundos dependiendo

del MEMORY BANK (52) (banco de memoria) que fue seleccionado.

9. CONTROL DE LA SALIDA: El volumen de AMP OUT (34) (salida del

AUMENTAR EL TONO A MÁXIMO, EL EFECTO DEL TONO DOBLARÁ EN VELOCIDAD. GRABAR

EN LO MÁXIMO Y BAJARLO EL MÍNIMO HARÁ EXACTAMENTE LO OPUESTO.

10.Los mandos TREBLE (2) (altos) y BASS (3): (bajos) le permiten ajustar

totalmente el tono del MIC 1 y del MIC 2. El MIC 1 LEVEL (5) controla el

volumen del MIC 1. MIC 2 LEVEL (4) controla el volumen del MIC 2.

MUESTRA DE REPRODUCCION:

1. Coloque la llave de MODE SELECTOR (53) en la posición SINGLE o

REPEAT.

11.DISPLAY: El DISPLAY (21) indica sea los niveles izquierdo y derecho de

la salida MASTER.

2. Seleccione el banco de memoria que usted desea reproducir presionando

el botón del MEMORY BANK (52) apropiado.

12.TALKOVER: El propósito de la sección talkover es de permitir al

programa de ponerse sordina para que se pueda oír el mensaje del

micrófono por encima de la música.

3. Dando golpecitos al botón de START/STOP (55) con la llave del MODE

SELECTOR (53) (selector de modo) en la posición SINGLE causará que

el muestrador vuelva a reproducir una vez (El INDICADOR DE

MUESTREO se iluminará VERDE). Cada pulsación que se de al botón

START/STOP (55) volverá a iniciar la muestra desde el comienzo. La

pulsación rápida del botón START/STOP (55) causará un efecto de

tartamudeo. Una vez que la muestra ha comenzado a volver a reproducir

y el botón START/STOP (55) no es pulsada por segunda vez, la muestra

reproducirá hasta el final y luego se detendrá. (El INDICADOR DE

MUESTREO se apagará).

El interruptor MIC/TALKOVER (7) manda MIC 1 y MIC 2, y tiene tres

arreglos. Cuando el interruptor MIC/TALKOVER (7) ocupa la posición

INFERIOR, el MIC 1/MIC 2 y la función talkover están ambos apagados.

Cuando el interruptor MIC/TALKOVER (7) ocupa la posición

CENTRAL, el MIC I y MIC 2 están activados, el INDICADOR

MIC (6) se prenderá pero la función talkover está apagada.

Cuando el interruptor MIC/TALKOVER (7) ocupa la posición SUPERIOR,

el MIC 1/MIC 2 y la función talkover estarán prendidos y el volumen de

todas las fuentes salvo las entradas Mic serán reducidas por 16 dB.

4. Dando golpecito al botón START/STOP (55) con la llave del MODE

SELECTOR (53) (selector de modo) colocado en la posición de REPEAT

(repeticion) causará que la muestra reproduzca y vuelva a reproducir

continuamente (El INDICADOR DE MUESTREO iluminará VERDE). El

botón START/STOP (55) actuará como una llave para prender/apagar. El

primer pulso comenzará la muestra, el segundo pulso lo parará. El

SAMPLER LEVEL (56) controla el volumen des la muestra. Presione

SAMPLER CUE (57) para oír la muestra antes de mezclarla adentro.

13.CUE: Conectando los audífonos al jack de HEADPHONE (32), podrá

monitorear cualquier canal o todos los canales. Oprima los botones

CUE ASSIGN (20) para los canales 1-4 para seleccionar el canal o

los canales a monitorear y sus indicadores DEL respectivos se

prenderán. Use el control CUE LEVEL (31) para ajustar el volumen

cue sin afectar la mezcla global. Moviendo el control CUE PGM PAN

(30) hacia la IZQUIERDO, Ud podrá monitorear la señal cue asignada.

Moviéndolo a la DERECHA podrá monitorear la salida del programa.

REPRODUCCION ROBO:

1. Con el botón ROBO PLAY (58) en la posición APAGADA (OFF) (El

INDICADOR DE ROBO PLAY estará APAGADO) y la llave de MODE

SELECTOR (53) (selector de modo) ya sea que esté en el modo SINGLE

o REPEAT, pulsando el botón START/STOP (55) ocasionará que la

muestra reproduzca junto con la fuente seleccionada.

PMX-1800 SOLAMENTE:

1. SECCIÓN DEL ECO: El eco puede ser aplicado presionando el botón del

ECO (52) (el LED se encenderá). Usted puede ajustar el nivel (53), repite

(54) y retrasa (55) los parámetros del eco usando los controles del ECO.

Para dar vuelta al eco apagado, empuje el botón del ECO (52) otra vez

(el LED dará vuelta apagado).

2. Cuando el botón ROBO PLAY está en posición de PRENDER (ON) (El

ROBO PLAY INDICATOR ilumina ROJO), prender el muestreo enmudece

(mutes) la fuente seleccionada. Cuando la muestra se termina, la fuente

automáticamente se vuelve a prender.

2. SECCIÓN DE LOS EFECTOS SONOROS: Seis diversos efectos sonoros

(UFO, RÁFAGA de TRON, SIRENA, GAS, AMETRALLADORA y

EMERGENCIA) se pueden agregar a su mezcla presionando los

BOTONES del CONTROL de los EFECTOS SONOROS (56). El volumen

de los efectos se puede ajustar usando el CONTROL de los EFECTOS

LLANO (57). La echada de los efectos puede ser aumentada o

disminuido usando los EFECTOS APRESURE EL CONTROL (58).

REPUESTO DE BATERIA:

REPUESTO DE BATERIA: El modelo PMX-2400 está equipado con

repuestos de batería para retener las muestras. Para activar esta

característica, se necesita conectar una batería de 9 voltios (no se

incluye) al BATTERY HOLDER (59) (soportador de bateria), localizado en

el panel posterior. Esto le permitirá archivar las muestras en la memoria y

cuando se desconecte la unidad, el soportador de batería retendrá las

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE MUESTREO:

INFORMACION GENERAL: El Muestreo modelo PMX-2400 usa memoria

Dinámica RAM y un controlador microprocesador de 12 bits. El ancho

completo de la faja resulta en una reproducción de sonido verdadero.

INDICADOR DE BATERIA BAJA: Se incluye un indicador para batería

baja con el model PMX-2400. Cuando cargue la batería asegúrese que la

unidad esté enchufada y de que la llave de alimentación esté en ON.

INFORMACION DE LA MEMORIA: El model PMX-2400 viene equipado

con quatro MEMORY BANKS (52) (bancos de memoria). Los dos bancos

maracados 2 & 2 tienen dos segundos de duración, los dos bancos

maracados 4 & 4 tienen cuatro segundos de duración y el banco marcado

12 tiene 12 segundos de duración. Estos bancos están separados y no

pueden estar unidos. Usted puede almacenar una muestra diferente en

SI SE DESCONECTA LA UNIDAD SIN NINGUNA BATERÍA ADJUNTA, SE PERDERÁN TODAS

PITCH (54) (tono). Para obtener una muestra perfecta, coloque el control

1. Le mélangeur étant sous tension, écoutez le système dans le mode de repos (sans

présence de signal) tout en ayant la terre/masse en place (le GROUND LIFT

SWITCH (24) occupe la position de GAUCHE).

INTRODUCTION:

Nos félicitations à l’occasion de votre achat du mélangeur PMX-1400, PMX-1800,

ou PMX-2400 de Gemini. Ce mélangeur très moderne est accompagné d’une

garantie de trois ans, à l’exclusion du crossfader et des curseurs de canal. Avant de

vous en servir, lisez attentivement toutes les instructions ci-après.

2. Ensuite, mettez l’appareil hors tension avant de mouvoir le GROUND LIFT SWITCH

(24). Séparez la terre/masse en déplaçant le GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) à

DROITE, mettez l’appareil de nouveau sous tension et écoutez pour déterminer

quelle position fournira un signal sans bruit de fond et sans ronronnement. Gardez

le GROUND LIFT SWITCH (24) dans la position de terre/masse si le niveau de bruit

reste le même dans l’une ou l’autre position.

3. CANAL 2: Le commutateur (27) vous permet de choisir l’entrée PHONO 2/LINE 3

(14) ou LINE 4 (13). Le CHANNEL SLIDE (28) (curseur de canal) commande la

MISES EN GARDE:

1. Toutes les instructions de fonctionnement doivent être lues avant de vous servir de

cet appareil.

4. CANAL 3: Le commutateur (29) vous permet de choisir l’entrée PHONO 3/LINE 5

(11) ou LINE 6 (10). Le CHANNEL SLIDE (30) (curseur de canal) commande la

sortie de ce canal.

2. Pour réduire le risque de commotion électrique, n’ouvrez pas l’appareil. IL NE

CONTIENT AUCUNE PIÈCE À REMPLACER PAR L’UTILISATEUR. La solution de

problèmes doit être confiée à un technicien qualifié.

5. CANAL 4: Le commutateur (31) vous permet de choisir l’entrée LINE 7 (9) ou LINE

8 (8). Le CHANNEL SLIDE (32) (curseur de canal) commande la sortie de ce canal.

3. N’exposez pas cet appareil aux rayons directs du soleil; ne l’exposez non plus à une

source de chaleur (p.e. radiateur, poêle).

6. CROSSFADER: Le CROSSFADER (33) (l’atténuateur croisé) permet le mélange

d’une source avec une autre. L’appareil PMX -1400 inclut un crossfader

(atténuateur croisé) assignable. Les commutateurs ASSIGN (34, 35) vous

permettent de choisir le canal à transmettre par chaque côté du crossfader.

4. Cet appareil ne doit être nettoyé qu’avec un chiffon humide. N’utilisez pas de

solvants ou d’autre produits de nettoyage.

5. Lorsque vous déplacez cet appareil, il doit être placé dans son emballage et carton

d’origine. Ceci réduira le risque d’endommagement durant le transit.

7. Le commutateur ASSIGN (34) inclut 5 positions (OFF, 1, 2, 3 ou 4) et vous permet

de choisir le canal 1, 2, 3 ou 4 à transmettre par le côté GAUCHE du crossfader. Le

commutateur ASSIGN (35) inclut 5 positions (OFF, 1, 2, 3 ou 4) et vous permet de

choisir le canal 1, 2, 3 ou 4 à transmettre par le côté DROIT du crossfader. Le

commutateur ASSIGN occupant la position OFF (désactivé), ce côté du crossfader

sera inactif.

7. N’APPLIQUEZ AUCUN PRODUIT DE NETTOYAGE OU DE LUBRIFICATION

PULVERISÉ SUR LES COMMANDES OU LES INTERRUPTEURS ET

COMMUTATEURS.

Le CROSSFADER (33) de votre appareil est amovible et s’il le faut, il est facilement

remplacé. Des appareils crossfader sont disponibles en trois genres: the RG-45

PRO (Rail Glide™) Dual-Rail Crossfader; la pièce no RF-45 a une course de

45mm d’un côté à l’autre; la pièce no. PSF-45 avec courbe spéciale conçue pour le

mélange de l’effet de frottement. Puis, il y a la RG-45 PRO (RAIL GLIDE™) 45MM

DUAL-RAIL CROSSFADER. Il suffit d’acquérir un de ces genres auprès de votre

concessionnaire Gemini et de suivre les instructions suivantes:

CONNEXIONS:

1. Avant de brancher le cordon électrique, assurez-vous que le VOLTAGE SELECTOR

(1) (sélecteur de tension) se trouve sur la tension correcte.

NOTE: CE PRODUIT EST DOTÉ D’UNE DOUBLE ISOLATION ET NE DOIT PAS ÊTRE MIS À LA

MASSE.

2. Le commutateur POWER (2) (puissance) doit occuper la position OFF (hors

tension). La POWER LED (3) (DEL de puissance) sera éteinte.

3. L’appareil PMX-1400, PMX-1800, et PMX-2400 comporte 4 jeux de jacks de sortie:

•

Les jacks BALANCED MASTER OUTPUT (4) ne sont pas équilibrés.

Les jacks AMP OUTPUT (5) (sortie amplificateur) ne sont pas équilibrés et

s’utilisent pour brancher l’amplificateur principal.

•

Les jacks BOOTH OUTPUT (6) (sortie cabine) vous permettent de brancher un

amplificateur supplémentaire.

Les jacks REC OUTPUT (7) (sortie `enregistrement) servent à brancher le

mélangeur à l’entrée d’enregistrement de votre enregistreur ce qui vous permet

d’enregistrer votre mélange.

• Dévissez les VIS externes DE LA PLAQUE DE L’ATTÉNUATEUR (B).

• Ne touchez pas aux VISSES INTERNES (C).

• Soulevez soigneusement l’atténuateur et débranchez le CÂBLE (D).

• Branchez le nouvel atténuateur au CÂBLE (D) et replacez-le dans le mélangeur.

• Vissez l’atténuateur au mélangeur et le DE LA PLAQUE DE L’ATTÉNUATEUR (B).

4. L’entrée DJ MIC 1 (19) (retrouvée sur le panneau avant) accepte un connecteur de

pouce ou XLR. L’entrée MIC 2 (20) (retrouvée sur le panneau arrière) accepte un

connecteur de 1/4 de pouce. Elles acceptent toutes des microphones équilibrés et

non équilibrés.

8. COMPENSATION: Cette fonction comporte deux GRAPHIC EQUALIZERS (36, 37)

(COMPENSATEURS GRAPHIQUES) à 7 bandes pour vous permettre d’ajuster le

son pour n’importe quelle chambre. Pour activer le compensateur, appuyez sur EQ

BUTTON (38) (le DEL EQ s’allumera). En ajustant n’importe lequel des 7

coulisseurs du compensateur GAUCHE (36), vous pouvez réduire ou accroître les

caractéristiques tonales du son venant du haut-parleur de GAUCHE de +12 dB. En

ajustant n’importe lequel des 7 coulisseurs du compensateur DROIT (37), vous

pouvez réduire ou accroître les caractéristiques tonales du son venant du haut-

parleur de DROITE de +12 dB. Désactivez le compensateur en appuyant de

nouveau sur EQ BUTTON (38) (le DEL EQ s’éteindra).

5. Sur le panneau arrière, 3 entrées stéréo PHONO/LINE (11, 14, 17) et 5 entrées

stéréo LINE (8, 9, 10, 13, 16).

•

Le PHONO/LINE SWITCH (18) vous permet de régler l’entrée (17) sur Phono ou Ligne.

Le PHONO/LINE SWITCH (15) vous permet de régler l’entrée (14) sur Phono ou Ligne.

Le PHONO/LINE SWITCH (12) vous permet de régler l’entrée (11) sur Phono ou Ligne.

6. Une GROUND THUMB SCREW (21) (vis de terre) pour la mise à la masse des

mélangeur est située sur le panneau arrière.

7. Les écouteurs peuvent être branchés au jack HEADPHONE (22) que l’on retrouve

sur le panneau avant.

9. OUTPUT CONTROL: Le volume de l’AMP OUT (5) est commandé par le curseur

MASTER (39). L’activation de la touche MONO (40) (la DEL mono s’allumera)

transformera la sortie générale en mono. La commande BOOTH (41) ajuste le

volume du BOOTH OUTPUT (6) (sortie de la cabine).

8. Le PMX-1400, PMX-1800, et PMX-2400 est livré avec un jack BNC LIGHT (23) sur

le panneau avant. Ce jack est destiné à être utilisé avec une lampe col de cygne

comme la Gemini GNL-700.

SUGGESTION: LA SORTIE DE LA CABINE EST UTILISÉE PAR CERTAINS ANIMATEURS DE

DISQUES POUR SE SERVIR DE HAUT-PARLEURS DE CONTRÔLE DANS LEUR CABINE.

EMPLOI DE L’INTERRUPTEUR DE

SOULÈVEMENT DE LA TERRE/MASSE:

NOTA: LE RECORD OUT N’A PAS DE COMMANDE DE VOLUME. LE VOLUME EST RÉGLÉ PAR

LES CURSEURS COULISSANTS DE CANAL. LES QUALITÉS TONALES PEUVENT ÊTRE

COMMANDÉES PAR LES COMPENSATEURS.

Selon la configuration du système, parfois la mise en place d’une terre/masse

produira une voie de signalisation moins bruyante. Parfois, le soulèvement de la

terre/masse peut éliminer des circuits de terre ou le ronronnement pour créer une

voie de signalisation moins bruyante.

10. TALKOVER: Le propos de cette section st de permettre au programme en marche

d’être assourdi de sorte que le message transmis par le micro puisse être entendu

par-dessus la musique.

3. Le fait de tapoter doucement le bouton START/STOP (55) avec l’interrupteur MODE

SELECTOR (53) en position SINGLE fera re-passer l’échantillonnage une fois (le

SAMPLER INDICATOR s’allumera VERT). Chaque fois que l’on appuye sur le

bouton START/STOP (55) fera repartir l’échantillon depuis le début. Le fait

d’appuyer rapidement sur le bouton START/STOP (55) causera un effet de

bégaiement. Une fois que l’échantillon a commencé à re-passer et que le bouton

START/STOP (55) n’est pas appuyé une deuxième fois, l’échantillon jouera jusqu’à

la fin et s’arrêtera ensuite (le SAMPLER INDICATOR s’éteindra).

•

Le MIC/TALKOVER SWITCH (42) commande MIC 1 et MIC 2, et comporte trois

réglages. Lorsque le MIC/TALKOVER SWITCH (42) occupe la position de FOND, le

MIC 1/MIC 2 et la fonction talkover sont au repos.

Lorsque le MIC/TALKOVER SWITCH (42) occupe la position CENTRALE, les MIC

1/MIC 2 est sous tension, le MIC INDICATOR (43) s’allumera mais la fonction

talkover est au repos.

Lorsque le MIC/TALKOVER SWITCH (42) occupe la position SUPÉRIEURE, le MIC

1/MIC 2 et la fonction talkover seront activés et volume de toutes les sources, sauf

les entrées mic, sera réduit de 16 dB.

4. Le fait de tapoter doucement le bouton START/STOP (55) avec l’interrupteur du

MODE SELECTOR (53) en position REPEAT fera jouer l’échantillon de manière

continue maintes et maintes fois (le SAMPLER INDICATOR s’illuminera en VERT).

Le bouton START/STOP (55) jouera le rôle d’interrupteur marche/arrêt. En appuyant

une première fois on fait démarrer l’échantillon, en appuyant une deuxième fois il

s’arrêtera. Le SAMPLER LEVEL (56) commande le volume de l’échantillon. Serrez

SAMPLER CUE (57) pour entendre l’échantillon avant de le mélanger dedans.

11. Les commandes TREBLE (46) (aigües) et BASS (47) (basses) vous permettent de

régler entièrement le ton du MIC 1 et MIC 2. Le MIC 1 LEVEL (44) commande le

12.CUE: En connectant les écouteurs au jack HEADPHONE (22), vous pouvez

surveiller n’importe lequel ou tous les canaux. Appuyez sur les touches CUE

ASSIGN (48) pour les canaux 1- 4 pour choisir le canal ou les canaux à surveiller et

leurs indicateurs DEL respectifs s’allumeront. Utilisez la commande CUE LEVEL

(49) pour ajuster le volume cue sans affecter le mélange global. En déplaçant la

commande CUE PGM PAN (50) à GAUCHE, vous pourrez surveiller le signal cue

assigné. Le fait de la déplacer à DROITE, surveillera la sortie PGM (programme).

LECTURE ROBO:

1. Le bouton ROBO PLAY (58) (LECTURE ROBO) en position OFF (arret) (le ROBO

PLAY INDICATOR - INDICATEUR DE LECTURE ROBO sera OFF) et l’interrupteur

MODE SELECTOR (53) soit en mode SINGLE soit REPEAT, le fait d’appuyer sur le

bouton START/STOP (55) fera jouer l’échantillon en même temps que la source

choisie.

2. Quand le bouton ROBO PLAY est en position ON (marche) le ROBO PLAYER

INDICATOR s’illumine en ROUGE), mettant l’échantillonnage en marche met la

source choisie en sourdine. Quand l’échantillon prend fin, la source se rallume

automatiquement.

13.AFFICHAGE: L’AFFICHAGE (51) indique soit les niveaux gauche et droit de la

sortie MASTER.

PMX-1800 SEULEMENT:

1. SECTION ÉCHO: L’écho peut être appliqué en appuyant sur ÉCHO (52) (le DEL

s’allumera). Vous pouvez ajuster les paramètres LEVEL (53), REPEAT (54) et

DELAY (55) de l’echo en utilisant les commandes ECHO. Pour mettre l’écho au

repos, appuyez de nouveau sur la touche ECHO (52) (le DEL s’éteindra).

PILE DE SECOURS:

PILE DE SECOURS: Le PMX-2400 est muni d’une pile de secours pour conserver

les échantillons. Pour activer cette caractéristique, il est nécessaire de brancher une

pile de 9 volts (non comprise) au BATTERY HOLDER (59) (PORTE-PILE) situé sur

le panneau arrière. Ceci vous permet de mettre des échantillons en mémoire et

quand l’appareil est débranché. la pile de secours conservera les échantillons pour

un usage ultérieur.

2. SECTION D’EFFETS SONORES: Six effets sonores distincts (EXPLOSION

ATOMIQUE SIRÈNE, PAF, MITRAILLETTE, URGENCE et OVNI) peuvent être

ajoutés à votre mélange en appuyant sur les touches de commande SOUND

EFFECTS (56). Le volume des effets peuvent être ajusté à l’aide de la commande

EFFECTS LEVEL CONTROL (57). Le ton des effets peut être augmenté ou réduit à

l’aide de la commande EFFECTS SPEED CONTROL (58).

SI L’APPAREIL EST DÉBRANCHÉ SANS PILE CONNECTÉE, TOUS LES ÉCHANTILLONS

SERONT PERDUS.

INDICATEUR DE PILE FAIBLE: Un indicateur de pile faible est compris dans le

PMX-2400. Quand vous changez la pile, assurez-vous que l’appareil est branché et

que le courant est ON (SOUS TENSION). Le défaut de se conformer à ceci

résultera en une perte de mémoire. L’indicateur de pile faible est ON (SOUS

TENSION) quand la DEL du bloc mémoire choisie clignote. La DEL clignotera aussi

si aucune pile n’est branchée à l’appareil.

SUGGESTION: VOUS POUVEZ ENREGISTRER UN ÉCHANTILLON AVEC LA COMMANDE DE

PITCH DANS N’IMPORTE QUELLE POSITION. QUELQUE SOIT CETTE POSITION, CELE

DEVIENDRA UN SON NORMAL. SI VOUS COMMENCEZ À ENREGISTRER UN ÉCHANTILLON

AVEC LA COMMANDE DE PITCH RÉGLÉE AU MINIMUM (CECI DEVIENT ALORS VOTRE

SON NORMAL), EN AUGMENTANT LE SON AU MAXIMUM, L’EFFET DU SON DOUBLERA EN

VITESSE. ENREGISTRER AU MAXIMUM ET ABAISSER AU MINIMUM FERA EXACTEMENT

L’OPPOSÉ.

4. Le PMX-2400 est muni d’une commande d’échantillonnage de PITCH (54) (son).

Pour obtenir un échantillon parfait, régler la commande en position centrale et

enregistrer l’échantillon. Pendant la lecture, le fait de lever ou d’abaisser la

commande augmetera ou diminuera le ton de la lecture échantillon. La position

centrale restera comme son normal.

5. Le fait de tapoter doucement le bouton START/STOP (55) (marche/arret) fait

débuter le processus d’échantillonnage (le SAMPLER INDICATOR s’allumera en

ROUGE). Le fait de tapoter le bouton START/STOP (55) une deuxième fois met fin

à l’échantillon (le SAMPLER INDICATOR s’éteindra. Si vous ne tapotez pas

doucement le bouton START/STOP (55) une deuxième fois, le processus

d’échantillonnage s’arrêtera automatiquement au bout de 2, 4 ou 12 secondes

suivant la MEMORY BANK (52) qui a été choisie.

RE-PASSAGE D’ÉCHANTILLON:

1. Mettre l’interrupteur MODE SELECTOR (53) (sélecteur de mode) en position

SINGLE (simple) ou REPEAT (repeter).

2. Choisir le bloc de mémoire que vous voulez jouer en appuyant sur le bouton

approprié MEMORY BANK (52).
