caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities ensure that these
are connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust-related hazards.
Safety instructions
WARNING. Read and understand all instructions. Failure
to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term “power tool”
in all of the warnings below refers to your mains-operated
(corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless)
power tool.
Save these instructions
Work area
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
Power tool use and care
Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power
tool for your application. The correct power tool will do
the job better and safer at the rate for which it was
designed.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.

sunlight, high ambient temperature and damp, wet or
high humidity conditions.
Do not smoke while refuelling. This is potentially
dangerous as it may ignite the fuel and cause an
explosion.
Take care not to spill fuel. When refuelling the line
trimmer ensure that the motor has been switched off.
Prevent the spilling of fuel as this may also ignite with
the hot motor. Never refuel whilst the engine running.
Be careful where you store the line trimmer. Store
the line trimmer in a dry area away from flammable
liquids.
Turn tool off completely before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk
of starting the power tool accidentally.
Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool
for operations different from intended could result in a
hazardous situation.
Keep your distance. The line trimmer emits exhaust
fumes. Ensure bystanders keep a safe distance.
Ensure you use oil-mix fuel. Ensure that you mix
40 parts unleaded fuel to 1 part 2-stroke oil. If not,
the engine will overheat and cause damage to your
line trimmer.
Never fill fuel tank indoors. Never fill fuel tank when
engine is running or hot. Do not smoke when filling
fuel tank.
Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your petrol line trimmer is faulty or that a part is
missing. If you find anything wrong, do not operate the
tool until the parts have been replaced or the fault has
been rectified. Failure to do so could result in serious
personal injury.
Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
personnel using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.

Each time the head is bumped it releases approximately
2cm of line. The cut off knife (2) on the blade guard will
automatically cut off any excess line. For best results tap
the head on hard soil or bare ground.
Do not hit stones (even small ones), piles of earth, and
small pieces of wood or anything else that could be
hidden or poorly visible in the grass. If you hit a large
object by accident, or if you block the cutting tool due to
overloading or having the cutter jammed with grass, you
must stop the engine.
NOTE. All protective devices of the machine as well
as protective equipment must be maintained in good
operation condition during the period of use.
WARNING. The engine of the petrol line trimmer must be
at a complete stop during assembling, repair and cleaning
operations that could be necessary.
Petrol line trimmer transmit vibrations to the operator
during use. These vibrations can generate increased
fatigue. For this reason, we recommend taking regular
breaks during work. We also recommend taking a break
after a few hours of work to rest the engine. If abnormal
noise or vibration occurs during operation, turn the line
trimmer off immediately and have the problem corrected.
Running in the engine
1. During the first ten hours of work, run the engine at a
moderate RPM.
2. We advise you in any case not to maintain your engine at
a high speed as the different components must settle with
each other during the process of running in the engine.
3. It is at the end of the running in period that the engine
will reach its maximum power.
4. After the first two hours of work, stop and make sure
that all nuts and screws are securely fastened, and
tighten them if necessary.
Use of the petrol line trimmer
This petrol line trimmer is only made to cut grass, small
bushes, and shrubs.
Always use the shoulder strap, when using the tool to
avoid serious personal injury.
Perform a few accelerations of the motor without
reaching maximum speed and without working to make
sure that everything is in good working order.
Start the engine only when you are close to the
working area.
Place yourself in a well balanced position, stable on
both feet.
Maintenance
Air filter
Grass cutting
Accumulated dust in the air filter will reduce engine
efficiency. Increase fuel consumption and allow abrasive
particles to pass into the engine. Remove the air filter as
often as necessary to maintain a clean condition.
Remove filter cover (12) by
pressing in the sides and
lifting it off.
Light surface dust can readily
be removed by tapping
the filter.
Cut the grass like you are in a corridor about 1.5m wide.
Move step by step, moving the machine from left to right
and vice-versa. Make sure at each step that you are still
well balanced on your feet.
The line trimmer has a bump feed mechanism which
releases line without having to stop the engine. To release
additional line lightly tap the cutting line and spool
assembly (1) on the ground while operating the unit at
high speed.
NOTE. Always keep the trimming line fully extended. Line
release becomes more difficult as the cutting line becomes
shorter.
Heavy deposits should be
washed out in suitable
detergent.
10
Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.
Squeese out the remaining water an allow the filter to
completely dry.
Add a drop of thin oil to the filter and replace it.
Fuel Filter
Fuel tank (7) is fitted with a
filter.
Filter is situated at the free
end of fuel pipe and can be
picked out through fuel port
with a piece of hooked wire or
the like.
3.Clean and adjust the spark plug gap to 0.6 - 0.7mm.
Replace any damaged or visibly worn plug with a
TORCH L8RTC or equivalent spark plug, as listed in the
specifications table.
4.Install the spark plug finger tight in the cylinder head,
then tighten it firmly with the spark plug wrench.
Servicing
It is recommended once you first use your petrol line
trimmer to get it serviced after 15 hours of use.
From thereafter, service the petrol line trimmer every
2 years.
Check the fuel filter
Storage and maintenance after use
When you finish working, clean the petrol line trimmer
completely, making sure there is no grass or dirt
wrapped in the cutting tools, and put it back into its
package in order to avoid its hurting you or other people
during transport.
Be aware to not hit or cut the fuel tank (7) while
you put it onto the ground. Do not let the petrol line
trimmer fall down to the floor or it may damage the
machine.
periodically. Do not allow dust
to enter the fuel tank. Clogged filter will cause difficulty
when starting engine or abnormalities in engine
performance.
When the filter is dirty, replace the filter.
When the inside of the fuel tank is dirty, it can be
cleaned by rinsing the tank out with petrol.
Checking the spark plug
Check the spark plug every 10-15 hours of use.
1.Remove the spark plug cover.
Store the petrol line trimmer away from direct sunlight.
Do not store in a nylon bag as this can encourage the
formation of mould.
At the end of the season, give the petrol line trimmer an
overall cleaning and a thorough check.
2
2
Do not leave the petrol line trimmer resting on the floor
for extended periods as it could cause the shape of the
guard to alter, posing a safety risk. Hang it off the floor
by the top handgrip.
Whenever the machine is not used for a long period of
time, proceed as follows:
Empty the fuel tank completely.
Protect all metal engine parts from corrosion by coating
them with oil.
2.Use the spark plug wrench
to remove the spark plug,
by turning it counter-
clockwise.
11
