hoses and packaging should be sorted,  
taken to the local recycling centre and

7. Dress correctly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.  
They can be caught in moving parts. Rubber gloves  
and non-slip footwear are recommended when working  
outdoors. If you have long hair, wear a protective hair  
covering.  
General safety instructions  
To use this tool properly, you must observe the safety  
regulations, the assembly instructions and the operating  
instructions to be found in this Manual. All persons who use  
and service the machine have to be acquainted with this  
Manual and must be informed about its potential hazards.  
Children and infirm people must not use this tool. Children  
should be supervised at all times if they are in the area in  
which the tool is being used. It is also imperative that you  
observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your  
area. The same applies for general rules of occupational  
health and safety.  
8. Use safety accessories. Safety glasses and earmuffs  
should always be worn. A face or dust mask is also  
required if the cutting operation creates dust.  
9. Do not abuse the power cord. Never pull the cord to  
disconnect the tool from the power point. Keep the cord  
away from heat, oil and sharp edges.  
10. Do not overreach. Keep your footing secure and

12. Disconnect idle tools. Switch off the power and  
disconnect the plug from the power point before  
servicing, when changing accessories such as blades,  
bits and cutters, and when the tool is not in use.  
3. Keep visitors away from the work area. All visitors and  
onlookers, especially children and infirm persons, should  
be kept well away from where you are working. Do not  
let others in the vicinity make contact with the tool or  
extension cord.  
13. Avoid unintentional starting. Always check that the  
switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the tool  
to the power supply. Do not carry a plugged in tool with  
your finger on the switch.  
4. Store tools safely. When not in use, tools should be  
stored in a dry, high place or locked up out of the reach  
of children.  
14. Use outdoor rated extension cords. When a tool  
is used outdoors, use only extension cords that are  
intended for outdoor use and are so marked.  
5. Do not force the tool. The tool will do the job better and  
safer working at the rate for which it was designed.  
15. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common  
sense. Do not operate a power tool when you are tired  
or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  
6. Use the correct tool for the job. Do not force small  
tools or attachments to do the job best handled by a  
heavier duty tool. Never use a tool for a purpose for  
which it was not intended. For instance, do not use  
circular saws to cut tree limbs or logs.  
16. Check for damaged parts. Before further use of the  
tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be  
carefully checked to determine if it will operate properly

and perform its intended function. Check for alignment  
of moving parts, free running of moving parts, breakage  
of parts, proper mounting and any other conditions  
that may affect the operation of the tool. A guard or  
other part that is damaged should be properly repaired  
or replaced by an authorised service facility, unless  
otherwise indicated in this Instruction Manual.  
4. Use only outdoor rated extension leads that are so  
marked. Keep the extension cord away from heat, oil  
and sharp edges.  
5. Do not operate the tool near people, especially children  
or pets. Turn it off if they get too close. Maintain a safe  
distance of at least 5m from other people when using  
the tool.  
Defective switches must be replaced by an authorised  
service facility. Do not use a tool if the switch does not  
turn the tool on and off correctly.  
6. Never direct the blower tube towards bystanders or pets.  
Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders or pets.  
7. Do not handle the plug or the tool with wet hands and do  
not use the tool in the rain.  
17. Use only approved parts. When servicing, use only  
identical replacement parts. Use an authorised service  
facility to fit replacement parts.  
8. Ensure that the extension lead is secured in a manner  
that prevents it form disconnecting from the plug whilst  
in use.  
Additional safety Instructions  
1. This appliance is not intended for he use by young and  
infirm person unless have been adequately supervised  
by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the  
appliance safely.  
9. Keep all the air intakes and the blower tube free of dust,  
lint, hair and other material that may cause a reduction in  
air flow.  
10. Keep a balanced and stable stance while using the tool.  
Young children should be supervised to ensure that they  
do not play with the appliance.  
11. Do not switch on the tool in enclosed or poorly  
ventilated spaces or in the presence of inflammable  
and/or explosive substances such as liquids, gasses  
and powders.  
2. Before use check the supply and extension cord of signs  
of damage or aging. If the cord becomes damaged during  
use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO  
NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING  
THE SUPPLY. Do not use the appliance if the cord is  
damaged or worn.  
12. Only operate the tool during broad daylight or with  
adequate artificial light.  
13. When the tool is not in use, store it in a dry place and  
out of reach of children.  
Additional safety rules for blowers  
14. After use, disconnect the tool from the power supply  
and check for damage. If you have the slightest doubts,  
contact an authorised service centre.  
1. Always wear adequate protective clothing when operating  
the tool to avoid injuries to face, eyes, hands, feet, head  
or hearing. Use safety glasses or a face shield, high  
boots or sturdy shoes, long trousers, work gloves, a hard  
hat and ear defenders.  
15. Only use the tool according to the instructions given in  
this manual.  
16. Check regularly that the screws are tight.  
2. Do not start the tool when it is upside down or when it is  
not in the operating position.  
17. Use only spare parts and accessories recommended by  
the manufacturer.  
3. Switch the motor off and remove the plug when the tool  
is not being used, left unattended, being cleaned, being  
moved from one place to another or when the extension  
cord is entangled or damaged.  
18. Do not try to repair the tool or access internal parts.

19. Do not get distracted and always concentrate on what  
you are doing. Use common sense. Never operate the  
tool when you are tired, sick or under the influence of

Unpacking  
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely  
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.  
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the  
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.  
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.

Assembly  
Switching on and off  
1. Fit the blower tube (4) onto the motor housing.  
1. To switch on, move the switch (3) to the “I” position.  
2. To switch off, move the switch (3) to the “0” position.  
2. Push the blower tube onto the housing depress the  
locking button and slide the tube until the lock button  
locates into hole.  
WARNING. The tool runs for approximately 5 seconds after  
it has been switched off. Let the motor come to a complete  
standstill before setting the tool down.  
3. To remove tube depress the lock button and slide the  
tube off the housing neck  
Operation  
Use of extension cord  
WARNING. A damaged  
1. Hold the blower at an angle  
of approximately 45 degrees  
and sweep from side to side  
with the nozzle end about 5 to  
10cm above the ground.  
extension cord can cause electric  
shock or a fire. Please inspect  
the extension cord periodically.  
The tool must not be used if the  
cord is damaged in any way.  
Replace a damaged extension  
cord before use.  
2. Slowly advance keeping the  
accumulated pile of debris in  
front of you.  
3. If the air flow is too strong, lift the unit a little higher  
from the debris or blow from a greater distance from  
the debris.  
1. Use a heavy duty extension cord, suitable for outdoor  
use and so marked. An ordinary duty extension cord will  
cause loss of power and may overheat.  
WARNING. Flying debris can cause serious personal injury  
to the operator, bystanders or pets. Keep bystanders and  
pets at least 5m away from the area of work and always  
wear suitable eye and ear protection, long pants and sturdy  
shoes or boots whilst operating the tool.  
2. Keep the extension cord behind you, away from the area  
of operation.

Maintenance  
1. Store the tool, instruction manual and accessories in a  
secure, dry place. In this way you will always have the  
information ready to hand.  
2. Keep the tool’s air vents unclogged and clean at all times.  
3. Remove dust and dirt regularly. Cleaning is best done  
with a rag or brush.  
4. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.  
CAUTION. Do not use cleaning agents to clean the plastic  
parts of the tool. A mild detergent on a damp cloth is  
recommended. Water must never come into contact with  
the tool.  
Storage  
Store the blower away from direct sunlight.
