READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START INSTALLING THIS RANGEHOOD
WARNING: - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE: a) Never leave surface units unattended at high
settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium setting. b)
Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or when flambeing food (i.e. Crepes Suzette, Cherries Jubilee, Pepper-
corn Beef Flambé). c) Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter. d)
Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface element.
WARNING: - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE, OBSERVE
THE FOLLOWING: SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. BE
CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the flames do not go out immediately EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN - You may be burned. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels - a
violent steam explosion will result. Use an extinguisher ONLY if: 1. You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher, and
you already know how to operate it. 2. The fire is small and contained in the area where it started. 3. The fire department
is being called. 4. You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.
ALL WALL AND FLOOR OPENINGS WHERE THE RANGEHOOD IS INSTALLED MUST BE SEALED.
This rangehood requires at least 24" of clearance between the bottom of the rangehood and the cooking surface or countertop.
This minimum clearance may be higher depending on local building code. For example, for gas ranges, a minimum of 30" may
be required. The maximum depth of overhead cabinets is 13". Overhead cabinets on both sides of this unit must be a minimum
of 18" above the cooking surface or countertop. Consult the cooktop or range installation instructions given by the manufacturer
before making any cutouts. MOBILE HOME INSTALLATION The installation of this rangehood must conform to the Manufactured
Home Construction and Safety Standards, Title 24 CFR, Part 3280 (formerly Federal Standard for Mobile Home Construction and
Safety, Title 24, HUD, Part 280). Four wire power supply must be used and the appliance wiring must be revised. See Electrical
Requirements.

FICHE TECHNIQUE ÉLECTRIQUE
Une ventilateur à évacuation extérieure doit être
raccordée à l'extérieur.
Leraccordementélectriquedoitsefaireavecuncircuitséparé
de 15 ampères fusible à 120V, 60 Hz, courant alternant. On
recommande un coupe-circuit. La taille du fusible doit se
conformer aux codes municipaux suivant la spécification
électrique sur la plaque intérieure. Le diamètre du fil
devra aussi se conformer aux règlements du code national

UNPACK THE RANGEHOOD
Remove the rangehood from the carton and place on a flat surface for assembly. Before discarding the packaging, check to make
sure that no mounting hardware or parts are missing. DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC COVERING ON THE CHIMNEYS AT
THIS TIME! This plastic covering protects the chimney from scratches during installation.
For safe packaging, the entire chimney section of the hood is shipped assembled. It must be disassembled completely for
installation. Disassemble packaged chimney components by sliding apart the chimney covers (B and C in FIGURE 1). Remove
the LOWER CHIMNEY COVER (B) from the CHIMNEY SUPPORT (F) by removing the 2 philips screws on the outside bottom
of the chimney cover. Remove the UPPER CHIMNEY COVER (C) from the CHIMNEY SUPPORT (F) by removing the 2 philips
screws on the outside top of the chimney cover.
PREPARING TO ATTACH THE CHIMNEY
CALCULATE THE DUCTRUN LENGTH
The rangehood attaches to the ceiling by a
metal support structure (F in FIGURE 1). This
support must be attached to the ceiling before
the canopy is attached. This structure must
be firmly attached to the ceiling.
The ductrun should not exceed 35 equivalent
feet if ducted with the required minimum of 6"
roundduct.Calculatethelengthoftheductwork
by adding the equivalent feet in FIGURE 2 for
each piece of duct in the system. An example
is given in FIGURE 3.

covering over cooktop,
set-in range or countertop

4. Determine and make necessary cuts for the ductwork. The duct
openingisshownonthemountingtemplate(LinFIGURE6). Install
ductwork before mounting the support.

MAKE THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Remove the cover from the field wiring compartment. DO NOT
turn on the power until installation is complete! Connect
the Power Supply Cable to the rangehood. Connect the Green
(Green and Yellow) ground wire under the Green grounding
screw. Attach the White lead of the power supply to the White
lead of the rangehood with a twist-on type wire connector.
Attach the Black lead of the power supply to the Black lead of
the rangehood with a twist-on type wire connector.

INSTALLING THE RANGEHOOD
1. The UPPER CHIMNEY
COVER (C in FIGURE 10)
attaches using two screws
provided(GinFIGURE10).
If using the High Ceiling
Chimney Kit, use the
UPPERCHIMNEYCOVER
supplied with the kit. Slide
up and attach the UPPER
CHIMNEY COVER.
6. Determine the proper location for the Power Supply Cable as
indicatedonthetemplate. Usea11/4"DrillBittomakethishole. Run
the Power Supply Cable. Use caulking to seal around the hole. DO
NOTturnonthepoweruntilinstallationiscomplete!Aknockoutis
provided at the top of the CHIMNEY SUPPORT (D in FIGURE 8).
7. Forductedinstallations,placetheroundDAMPER (NinFIGURE
1) into the exhaust opening of the rangehood and press down.
2. Attachtheductworktothe
DAMPER (N in FIGURE 1).
Make sure to seal all joints
with duct tape to prevent
leaks.
3. The LOWER CHIMNEY
COVER (B in FIGURE
10) attaches using two
screws provided (G in
FIGURE 10). Install the

8. Attach the CHIMNEY SUPPORT (D in FIGURE 8) to the ceiling.
Makesurethatthesupportisfirmlyattachedtotheceiling. Determine
thedesiredlengthofthesupportstructureandadjustthelengthofthe
supportbyremovingthefourscrews(indicatedinFIGURE8)witha
flat head screwdriver. Once the length of the support is determined,
install and tighten the four screws.
For ductless installations, line up the DUCTLESS DIVERTER
EXTENSIONS HORIZONTAL (B in FIGURE 9) with the holes
in the LOWER CHIMNEY COVER (D in FIGURE 9) and snap
in the VENT GRIDS (C in FIGURE 9).

Two people must hold the canopy in place while the third person installs the screws that attach the canopy to the chimney.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for injury or damage caused by improper installations.
For ductless installations, install the CHARCOALFILTER (F in
FIGURE 9) behind the center grease filter opening by inserting
and locking into place.
4. From below, attach the CANOPY SECTION (A in FIGURE
11) to the assembled chimney support using the four bolts
provided (E in FIGURE 11).

5. Connect the CONTROL CABLES together as indicated in
A in FIGURE 12. Connect the LIGHT CABLES together as
indicated in B in FIGURE 12. Insert the connected CONTROL
CABLES(AinFIGURE12)intotheblackplasticCONNECTOR
BOX (C in FIGURE 12) by connecting the two black plastic
pieces using the four screws provided. Using the two longer
screws provided, attach the assembled CONNECTOR BOX to
the METAL FLANGE (D in FIGURE 12).
6. Install the grease filters using two hands by first pulling and

protrude from the filter (as in FIGURE 14). Insert the opposite
end of the filter into the retaining channel. Insert the knob end
next, then turn knob to the right to lock the filter into place.

7. Turn the power supply on. Turn on blower and lights. If the
rangehood does not operate, check that the circuit breaker is
not tripped or the house fuse blown. If the unit still does not
operate, disconnect the power supply and check that the wiring
connections have been made properly.

USE AND CARE INFORMATION
WARRANTY & SERVICE
This rangehood system is designed to remove smoke, cooking
vapors and odors from the cooktop area.
All Faber products are warranteed against any defect in ma-
terials or workmanship for the original purchaser for a period
of 1 year from the date of original purchase. This warranty
covers labor and replacement parts. The warranty does not
cover consumable parts such as filters and light bulbs. This
warranty does not apply if this product has been subjected to
faulty installation, misuse, or neglect. This warranty excludes
any consequential expense or damage resulting from any use
or malfunction of the product. All implied warranties are limited
to the duration of this warranty.
Rangehood Control Panel
The control panel is located on the front edge of the rangehood
canopy. The position and function of each control button are
indicated in FIGURE 15.
To obtain warranty service, contact the dealer from whom you
purchased the rangehood, or the local Faber distributor. If you
cannot identify a local Faber distributor, contact us at (508)
358-5353 for the name of a distributor in your area.

Light On/Off Button ( L )
On/Off switch for the halogen lights. Push the button in to turn
the light ON, push again to turn the light OFF.
Blower Indicator Light ( I )
Lights up to indicate blower is ON.
Blower On/Off and Speed Buttons ( 1, 2, 3 )
Push button (1) to turn ON and OFF the blower. This button
must be pushed in for the blower to operate regardless of
speed chosen. Button (1) operates the blower on LOW speed.
Push button (2) for MEDIUM speed. Push button (3) for HIGH
speed.
For Best Results
Start the rangehood several minutes before cooking to develop
proper airflow. Allow the unit to operate for several minutes
after cooking is complete to clear all smoke and odors from
the kitchen.
Cleaning
Thestainlesssteelgreasefiltersshouldbecleanedfrequentlyin
hot detergent solution or washed in the dishwasher. Stainless
steelcleanershouldbeusedonstainlessrangehoods. Abrasives
and scouring agents can scratch stainless steel finishes and
should not be used to clean finished surfaces.
Replacing the Lamps
Before attempting to replace the lamps, make sure that the
light switch is turned off. Remove the 2 screws (as indicated
in FIGURE 16) that hold the light support and gently pull the
support down from the hood. Remove the lamp from the light
support and replace with new lamp. Replace the light support
and fix it into place with the 2 screws.

Retirer la hotte de la boîte et la déposer sur une surface plane pour lʼassemblage. Avant de jeter lʼemballage, sʼassurer quʼil ne
manque pas de pièces ni de ferrures. NE PAS RETIRER LE PLASTIQUE PROTECTEUR! Ce plastique empêche tout dommage
pouvant survenir pendant lʼinstallation.
Séparer le COUVERCLE CHEMINÉE SUPÉRIEURE (C de la FIGURE 1) et le COUVERCLE CHEMINÉE INFÉRIEURE (B de la
FIGURE 1) du TREILIS (F de la FIGURE 1) en dévissant les quatre vis.
INSTALLATION DU SUPPORT
CALCUL DE LONGUEUR DU CONDUIT
La longueur du conduit ne doit jamais excéder
35pisʼilsʼagitdeconduitrondde6po. Calculer
la longueur du conduit en ajoutant lʼéquivalent
en pied de la FIGURE 2 pour chaque pièce du
conduit du système. Un exemple est donné
à la FIGURE 3.
La hotte se fixe au plafond à lʼaide dʼun
support métallique (F de la FIGURE 1). Ce
support doit être fixé au plafond avant que
la hotte ne soit installée au support. Puisque
cette structure supporte le poids de la hotte,
elle doit être fixée fermement au plafond.

(E de la FIGURE 11) la HOTTE (A de la FIGURE 11) au treillis
prévu.

6. Installer les filtres. Note : Lors de lʼinstallation du filtre,
tirer/faire tourner le bouton avec une main, et tenir le filtre en
place avec lʼautre main pour quʼil ne tombe pas sur la table de
cuisson. Saisir lʼun des filtres de telle sorte que le bouton soit
orienté vers le bas et vers lʼarrière de la hotte (de la FIGURE
14). Insérer lʼextrémité du filtre ne comportant pas le bouton
dans la rainure de retenue à lʼavant de la hotte. Tirer sur le
bouton et le tourner vers la gauche (sens antihoraire) de telle
sorte que le levier de verrouillage ne fasse pas saillie hors du
filtre. Insérer lʼextrémité comportant le bouton dans la rainure
de retenue à lʼarrière de la hotte. Tourner le bouton vers la
droite (sens horaire) pour verrouiller le filtre en place.
5. Connecter le CONNECTEUR DES COMMANDES (A de
la FIGURE 12) et le CONNECTEURE DES SPOTS (B de la
FIGURE 12). Insérez le CONNECTEUR DES COMMANDES
(A de la FIGURE 12) dans la BOÎTE DE CONNECTEUR
en plastique noire (C de la FIGURE 12) en reliant les deux
morceaux en plastique noirs à l'aide des quatre vis fournies.

GARANTIE ET SERVICE
Cette hotte est conçue pour enlever la fumée, les vapeurs de
cuisson et les odeurs de la cuisine.
Faber garantit à lʼutilisateur-acheteur dʼorigine que les produits
Faber vendus neufs par nous sont sans vice de matériel et de
main-dʼoeuvre dʼorigine pour une période dʼun an à partir de la
date dʼachat. La garantie couvre la main-dʼoeuvre et les pièces
de remplacement. Par contre, elle ne couvre pas les pièces
reliées à lʼusure normale de lʼappareil (exemple: les filtres et
les ampoules). La garantie ne sʼapplique pas si le produit a
été mal installé, utilisé dʼune manière inadéquate ou négligé.
Cette garantie exclue toutes les dépenses consécutives dûes
à des dommages résultant dʼun mauvais fonctionnement du
produit. Laprésente garantie remplace toutesautresgaranties
et déclarations expresses.

Le panneau de commandes est situé sur le devant de la hotte.
La position et la fonction de chaque bouton sont indiquées à
la FIGURE 15.
Afin dʼobtenir un service sous garantie, communiquer avec le
marchand où la hotte a été achetée ou le distributeur Faber
de la région. Si lʼon ne peut trouver de distributeur Faber,

Nettoyage
Lesfiltresàgraisseenmétaldevraientêtrenettoyésfréquemment
dans une solution dʼeau chaude et de détergent ou mettre au
lave-vaisselle. Utiliser un nettoyant pour lʼacier inoxydable
sur les hottes en acier inoxydable. Ne pas utiliser de produits
abrasifs ou de récurants, car ils peuvent égratigner le fini en
acier inoxydable et ils ne devraient pas être employés pour
nettoyer les surfaces de finition.
Remplacement de la lumière halogène
Avant dʼessayer de remplacer les ampoules, sʼassurer que
lʼinterrupteur soit hors circuit. Retirer les deux vis (de la
FIGURE16). Retirerlʼampouleetlaremplacerparunenouvelle
ampoule.
