OPERATION
TOASTING BREAD
TOASTING OTHER PRODUCTS
Dualit conveyor toasters are equipped
with a rotary power saver switch. Turn
clockwise or counterclockwise to obtain
the following positions:
The Dualit conveyor toaster is a versatile
machine which can be used for toasting
or warming a variety of bread products.
You can use the conveyor toaster to warm
or toast other bread type products such
as buns, muffins, bagels and crossiants.
Follow the instructions to achieve best
toasting results:
1. Adjust the top and bottom element
temperatures to required settings.
Ensure any food product used with the
conveyor is less than 30mm thick. If
larger it may get stuck inside the
toaster.
FULL POWER
When in this position
your equipment is at
full power and ready to 1. Turn the power saver to FULL POWER.
use.
2. Set the conveyor speed to 5.
Two off positions are
OFF ROTARY
provided so that a
single rotation to either
direction will shut the
unit off.
3. The toaster is equipped with separate
top and bottom heat controls. For
toast we recommend setting them
both to 10 (HIGH).
2. For buns and bagels and other items
requiring only one side toasting , set
the top element to 10 (High) and
the bottom to 5 (Medium). Don’t
forget, any change to the heat setting
will take a few minutes to take effect.
STANDBY
The standby position
reduces the power
consumption by 75%.
Using this position
4. Allow a warm-up time of 5 to 10
minutes to allow the toaster to reach
optimum operating temperature.
3. Adjust the speed as in previous section
to vary the browning.
during quiet times

conveyor belt to test the settings.
will save electricity and
keep the toaster warm.
Use this whenever you
know the toaster is not
required for the next 10
4. Products flip over when coming off the
conveyor belt

CLEANING PROCEDURES
HEAT LIMIT SWITCH (RESET)
TROUBLESHOOTING
Your Dualit conveyor toaster is equipped
with an automatically activated heat limit
switch that interrupts the heater tube
connections if the ambient temperature in a) The speed setting should be set at the
the control box exceeds 190°F (88°C).
2. My toast is burning or is
underdone?
To clean the conveyor belt: set the
power saver in the FULL POWER
position, turn the top and bottom
heat control to the OFF position.
half way mark; this can be adjusted to
taste, and will take a matter of seconds to
settle.
For a lightly soiled conveyor belt, turn
conveyor speed control to the slowest
setting (2) and wipe with a damp
cloth.
This switch can be reset manually by
pushing the red button on the bottom of
the toaster.
If toasting is too light, turn conveyor
speed control counter-clockwise to a
lower speed
For a heavily soiled conveyor belt,
turn conveyor speed control to
slowest setting (2) and wipe with a
dry, light abrasive pad.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE UNIT
WITHOUT CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE. THE
UNIT WILL OVERHEAT AND ACTIVATE
THE HEAT LIMIT SWITCH.
If toasting is too dark, turn conveyor
speed control clockwise to a faster speed
After the unit cools, disconnect unit
from power, remove interior crumb
tray and clean. Slide crumb tray back
into position after cleaning.
b) Allow at least 10 minutes for the
conveyor to heat up and settle from
switch on.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. My toast is unevenly toasted?
c) If the toaster has been left on full
power without bread passing through it,
the first slices through will burn due to
the build up of heat. When the toaster is
in an idle period it is advised that the
toaster be turned to the ¼ power setting.
This will prolong the life span of the
elements and reduce the chances of
un-even toasting when used again after
the idle period.
Wipe exterior surface of unit using a
damp cloth once the machine has
cooled.
a) Ensure that heat regulators are set to
the highest setting possible and the
switch cannot turn any further. Any
adjustment to the heat settings will take
time to settle and as such these controls
should not be adjusted whilst making
toast.
Never allow a build up of crumbs
in the tray as this may cause fire.
Clean on a daily basis.
Ensure the cooling fan is clear of dust
and grease. CLEAN WEEKLEY.
For best results set the heat regulators
both to full, and the speed to 5. Vary the
speed to achieve desired brownness.

may cause fire.
3. My conveyor is overheating?
5. Where do I position the conveyor
toaster?
a) If the conveyor belt continues to run
and the elements have cut out, check the
cooling fan is running and free of dust
and dirt as the heat limit switch may have
tripped.
It has not been modified.
You supply your receipt to show
when you bought your toaster.
a) Ensure there are no shelves or units
directly above the conveyor.
Elements are guaranteed for 3
months from date of purchase for
parts & labour, thereafter parts only.
If the fan is dirty, isolate from the power
and clean with a soft brush, leave for ten
minutes for the toaster to cool and push
the reset button to begin toasting again.
(Allow time for the toaster to heat up
again)
b) Allow ample clearance around the
conveyor, minimum 80mm at rear and
30mm at sides. This ensures air can
circulate around the conveyor and keep it
at optimum operating temperature.
The guarantee does not affect your
statutory rights.
c) Do not cover or obstruct the fan.
b) The toaster will also overheat if the
crumb tray is not in position when in use.
This acts as heat screen and helps protect
the internal components vital to the
running of the toaster.
If over one year, contact Dualit for
recommended repair agents.
6. My elements have gone white?
Further advice on using your Dualit
conveyor toaster and other products in
the Dualit range is available from:
a) Dualit conveyors use silica glass tube
elements. These may go white over time.
Deposits of starch from the bread may
build up on the element. This in not
harmful in any way nor does it effect the
toasting performance.
c) Allow a clearance of 80mm from the
rear of the machine and 30mm gap
between machines if two or more
