GeneralꢀOperation
Press RELEASE and pull away from the left side to remove.
To re-install, insert right side of faceplate first then push
left side to secure.
FaceplateꢀRemoval
Press or any other button (except EJECT) to turn the unit
on. Press to turn the unit off.
PowerꢀOn/Off
Mode
Press MODE to select between AM/FM, CD player, auxiliary,
USB and SD card. Modes of operation are shown in the
display.
NOTE: CD, SD and USB modes will not appear unless a CD,
SD Card or USB device is inserted.
The MDM300 a 3.5 mm auxiliary input port on the front panel
of the unit for connecting an audio device, MP3 player, etc.
Press MODE to select auxiliary input mode.

Adjust volume using volume knob (0-47).
Volume
Press LOUD to activate the Loudness function. Activating
Loudness will enhance the bass and treble frequencies
when listening to music at low volumes.

Press DISP to show the clock. During playback of MP3/WMA
files, ID3 tag information, elapsed time, track number and
file/folder names will automatically alternate on the display.
Press RESET upon initial installation or if abnormal
operation occurs. Reset button is located behind the front
panel.

SetupꢀMenu
With the unit on, press and hold DISP until the clock begins
to flash, then release. Turn the volumeꢀknob to the right to
adjust the hours or to the left to adjust the minutes.
The clock will display 12-hour AM/PM time in USA frequency
spacing mode (PM 10.00). In European frequency spacing
mode, the clock will display 24-hour time (22.00).
Press and hold the volumeꢀknob for more than 3 seconds
to access the setup menu. Press volumeꢀknob momentarily
to select between the menu functions and rotate the volumeꢀ
knob left/right to adjust or activate the desired function.

Bandꢀ Press BAND to select between FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1 and

StoringꢀandꢀRecallingꢀ Up to 18 FM stations and 12 AM stations can be stored. To
StationꢀPresets store a station, select the desired band and station. Press
and hold the desired preset button (1-6) for more than
2 seconds. When stored, the preset number will appear in
the display. The station can be recalled anytime by pressing
the corresponding preset button.
AutomaticallyꢀStoreꢀ Press AMS for more than 2 seconds to automatically store

After the six strongest stations are set, a scan of each

Stereoꢀ/ꢀMono Press MONO to select Mono or Stereo operation. Selecting
MONO can improve listening in areas with a weak FM
signal.

InsertꢀCD With the label facing up, insert a standard size CD into the
CD slot. The CD will automatically begin playback.

within 10 seconds, the unit will reload the disc. The unit
does not have to be turned on to eject CD.

Compatibility
Some CD-Rs and CD-RWs may be incompatible with this
unit, depending on media type and recording method. In
addition, the following CDs may be incompatible with this
unit:
CDs exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight
for extended periods of time, CDs recorded in which a
recording session failed or a re-recording was attempted
and, or encrypted or copy-protected CDs which do not
conform to the audio CD-DA red book recording standard.

When an MP3/WMA encoded disc is first inserted,
“LOAD" will appear in the display. Depending on the number
of files and folders, this may take several seconds.
DisplayingꢀInformation ID3 tag and file/folder information will automatically be
displayed during playback. Press BAND to manually select
and display the song information.
CharacterꢀSupport Maximum character display information
• Track name – 64 character maximum
• Directory name – 64 character maximum
• *Song title – 64 character maximum
• *Artist name – 64 character maximum
• *Album name – 64 character maximum
*Song title, artist name and album name will only be
displayed if included with the MP3/WMA file.
When referring to MP3/WMA playback, the following terms

ConnectingꢀaꢀUSBꢀDevice To play MP3/WMA files from most USB mass storage
(soldꢀseparately) devices, line up the USB connector and insert the USB
device into the USB port.
InsertingꢀanꢀSDꢀCard To play MP3/WMA files from an SD Card, insert the card
(soldꢀseparately) horizontally with the label facing up into the SD Card slot
located behind the front panel.
PlayingꢀMusic When a USB device is first connected, “LOAD” will appear in
the display and playback will begin momentarily. To begin
playing music from an SD Card, press MODEꢀto select SD
mode and begin playback. Depending on the number of files

TimeꢀSearch Press AMS until "TIME SCH" appears. Turn the volumeꢀknob
left/right to choose the desired elapsed time in the current
song. Press AUDIO to begin playback from the displayed
elapsed time.
TrackꢀSearch Press AMS until "TRK SCH" appears. Turn the volumeꢀ
knob to choose the first digit in the track number. After
one second, the first digit is saved. Turn theꢀvolumeꢀknob
to choose the second digit, repeating the process until the
desired track number is shown. Press AUDIO to begin
playback for the displayed track.
Example: To choose track 100, press AMS until "TRK SCH"
appears, then turn the volumeꢀknob until "1" appears. Wait
one second, then choose "0", Wait one second, then choose
"0". Press AUDIO to begin playing track number 100.
FileꢀSearch Press AMS until "FILE SCH" appears. Turn the volumeꢀknob
to cycle through all the songs on the device. The songs will
be listed in the order that they are copied to the device.
Press AUDIO to begin playback when the desired song is
displayed.
CharacterꢀSearch Press AMS until "CHAR SCH" appears. Turn the volumeꢀ
knob to choose the first character in the song name. Once
the first character is chosen, wait one second, then press
AUDIO to search for all songs that begin with that letter. A
list of songs with names beginning with the chosen letter
will be available. Turn the volumeꢀknob to cycle through
these songs, and press AUDIO to begin playback.
Example: Choose "B" then press AUDIO to display all the
songs that have names beginning with B.
