MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE DISC
A defective or soiled disc inserted into the unit can cause sound to drop out during
playback.
Handle the disc by holding its inner and outer edges.
• Do NOT touch the surface of the unlabeled side of the disc.
• Do NOT stick paper or tape on the surface.
• Do NOT expose the disc to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
• NEVER use solvents such as benzine or alcohol to clean the disc.
• Clean the disc before playback. Wipe the disc from the center
outward with a cleaning cloth.
• Do NOT use irregular shaped discs
(example : heart shaped, octagonal, etc.).
They may cause malfunctions.
CLEANING THE UNIT
• Be sure to turn the unit off and disconnect the AC power cord before maintaining the unit.
• Wipe the unit with a dry soft cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty,
wipe clean with a cloth that has been dipped in a weak soap-and-water solution and
wrung out thoroughly. Wipe with a dry cloth.
• Never use alcohol, benzine, thinner, cleaning fluid or other chemicals. Do NOT use compressed
air to remove dust.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Before transporting the unit, remove the disc from the disc compartment.

GETTING STARTED
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
• Point the remote control at the remote sensor located on the unit.
• When there is a strong ambient light source, the performance of the infrared remote sensor
may be degraded, causing unreliable operation.
• The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).
TO INSTALL THE BATTERIES
1. Open the battery door.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the batteries become weak, the operating distance of the remote control is greatly
reduced and you will need to replace the batteries.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
NOTES
• If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid
damage caused by battery leakage corrosion.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix ALKALINE, standard (CARBON-ZINC) or
rechargeable (NICKEL-CADMIUM) batteries.
• Always remove batteries as soon as they become weak.
• Weak batteries can leak and severely damage the remote control.
WARNING :
• Do not dispose batteries in a fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
• Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

CONNECTING A TV ANTENNA / CABLE / SATELLITE
To view television channels correctly, a signal must
be received from one of the following sources:
- An indoor or outdoor aerial antenna
- A cable system
- A satellite system
NOTE
For receiving over-the-air TV broadcasts, we
recommend that you use an external fixed antenna.
Should you require the use of a temporary antenna,
please ensure that you purchase an antenna with
sufficient ability to receive in weak signal areas.
Only when you are in close proximity to a transmitter
will a temporary antenna reproduce a signal as
strongly as a fixed antenna.

CONNECTING A HIGH-DEFINITION (HD) SOURCE USING COMPONENT CONNECTION
High-Definition (HD) Devices with component video output must be connected to the YPbPr input.
Connect the component video cable and audio cable (not included) as shown.
Make sure you connect the component video cable and audio cable from the other equipment
(COMPONENT OUT and AUDIO OUT) to this unit (COMPONENT IN and AUDIO IN).
NOTE
When connecting a DVD player to the television,
the picture resolution is solely dependent upon
the resolution supported by the DVD player attached.
DVD player resolutions vary from 480i to 1080i,
and this television can support DVD players up to
a maximum resolution of 1080i.

CONNECTING A HIGH-DEFINITION (HD) SOURCE USING HDMI CONNECTION
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) supports both video and audio on a single digital connection
for use with DVD players, DTV, set-top boxes and other digital AV devices. HDMI was developed to provide
the technologies of High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) as well as Digital Visual Interface
(DVI) in one specification. HDCP is used to protect digital content transmitted and received by
DVI-compliant or HDMIcompliant displays.
HDMI has the capability to support standard, enhanced or high-definition video plus standard to
multi-channel surround-sound audio. HDMI features include uncompressed digital video, a bandwidth of
up to 2.2 gigabytes per second (with HDTV signals), one connector (instead of several cables and
connectors), and communication between the AV source and AV devices such as DTVs.

CONNECTING THE POWER CORD
You can power your TV unit by plugging the detachable AC power cord into the AC socket on the back of
the unit and into a wall AC power outlet. Check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local
voltage. Make sure that the AC power cord is fully inserted into the unit.
NOTE
• Insert the power plug fully into the socket outlet.
(If the power plug is loose, it could generate heat and
cause fire.)
• Ensure that the power plug is easily accessible.
• Ensure the earth pin on the power plug is securely
connected to prevent electrical shock.
• An apparatus with CLASS I construction shall be
connected to a power socket outlet with a protective
grounding connection.
• Do not touch the power plug with a wet hand.

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
INSTALLING / REMOVING THE BASE STAND
WARNING: The LCD Display is very fragile, and must be protected at all times when removing the base
stand.
Be sure that no hard or sharp object, or anything that could scratch or damage the LCD display, comes into
contact with it. Do NOT exert pressure on the front of the unit at any time because the screen could crack.
1. Disconnect all cables or cords connected to the unit.
2. Lay the unit down on a flat surface with the back side facing up. Please make sure to place a soft
cushioned material (such as a pillow or thick piece of foam) beneath the screen.
3. To remove the base stand, loosen screws off the holes then pull downwards to release
the base stand.
4. To install the base stand, put the stand into the hole at the bottom of the TV then insert screws to the
holes and tighten.
MOUNTING ON THE WALL
This unit is VESA-compliant, and is designed to be wall-mounted with a VESA-compliant 3” x 3”
(75mm x 75mm) mounting kit designed for flat-panel TVs (not supplied). Mount this unit according to
the instructions included in the mounting kit.
NOTE
Remove the base stand before mounting the unit on the wall.

INITIAL SETUP
PUTTING THE UNIT ON A PROPER PLACE
When you turn on your television set for
the first time, be sure to place it on a solid
stable surface.
To avoid danger, do not expose the TV
to water, or a heat source
(e.g. lamp, candle, radiator).
Do not obstruct the ventilation grid
at the rear and be sure to leave sufficient
gaps around the unit.

on a disc. Most discs have these numbers record
on them, but some do not.
When the symbol appears on the screen,

This occurs because the DVD manufacturer
determines the specific functions.
Certain functions may not be available on
some discs. Be sure to read the documentation
provided with the DVD.

CD/DVD OPERATION
This owner’s manual explains the basic instructions of this unit. Some DVDs are produced with
limited operation during playback. For example, many DVDs do not allow users to skip government
warnings, or in some cases previews or other features. This is not a defect in the unit. Refer to
the instruction notes of discs.

not permitted by the unit or disc.
BASIC OPERATIONS
TURN ON AND OFF THE DVD FUNCTION
Turn on the LCD TV and then press the TV / AV button repeatedly to select DVD mode.
INSERT DISC TO DVD
Insert the Disc to the Disc door (label side of the disc has to face towards front of the unit), the player
will load the disc automatically. There will have an on screen indication “CLOSE” then “READ”. After
loading the disc content, it will switch to play mode automatically. If the disc is already placed inside,
the disc will be read automatically.
NOTE: For some discs, after loading the content of the disc, need to press the or select from the disc menu
to start.
Please make sure when inserting the Disc, the label side of the disc should be facing you when inserting
the Disc incorrectly, you may damage the DVD mechanism.
PLAYING A PICTURE FILE DISC
This unit can play JPG files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs.
1. Hold the disc by its edge and gently push it into the door, with the label side facing the front.
2. The unit will load the disc and automatically display the contents of the disc on the screen, while also
beginning to play the picture file. These files will then be played back one by one.
3. Press the button to go to the folder list.
4. Press the or button to highlight a file to play. Press the button
to start playback.
PAUSING /PLAYING PLAYBACK
Press the button
to switch between pausing and playing.
STOPPING PLAYBACK
Press the button at the location where you want to interrupt playback. To resume playback at the
position where the disc was stopped, press the button

If you press the button twice, the unit's memory will be cleared and pressing the button

• Press again to cancel, or Press the VOL + button to cancel and adjust the volume.
• In case there is no audio output, try to press the MUTE button to cancel mute.
ZOOM
• Press the ZOOM button to zoom in the picture.
• There are 6 zoom modes, press the ZOOM button to toggle between different zoom modes in sequent.

A - B
• In normal Playback, fast forward or fast reverse, press the A-B button at where you want to
start the repeat portion. There will have an on screen indication “REPEAT A “.
• In normal Playback, fast forward or fast reverse, press the A-B button again at where you want to
stop the repeat portion. There will have an on screen indication “REPEAT A B“.
• The repeat function started to playback the portion from A to B automatically.
• Press the A-B button again to cancel. There will have an on screen indication “A B CANCEL”.
NOTE:
For Super VCD, VCD & CD discs, repeat A-B is only function within the same track. When playing the
others, repeat A-B will cancel automatically.
For Super DVD discs, repeat A-B is only function within the same Title /Chapter. When playing the
others, repeat A-B will cancel automatically.
PROGRAM
Using Program playback, you can select max. 16 tracks from the disc to playback in programmed order.

To clear the program by moving to <CLEAR> by the navigation buttons, press the ENTER button.

FAST FORWARD / FAST REVERSE
1.Press the or button when a disc is playing.
Each time the or button is pressed, the speed of fast scan changes in the following sequence:
FORWARD X 2 ---> FORWARD X 4 ---> FORWARD X 8 ---> FORWARD X 20 ---> PLAY
BACKWARD X 2 ---> BACKWARD X 4 ---> BACKWARD X 8 ---> BACKWARD X 20 ---> PLAY

SLOW-MOTION PLAY (DVD)
1. Press the SLOW button on remote control in the play mode. Each time the SLOW button is pressed,
the speed of slow-motion playback changes in the following sequence:
SF 1/2 ---> SF 1/3 ---> SF 1/4 ---> SF 1/5 ---> SF 1/6 ---> SF 1/7 ---> PLAY
2. Press the
button to return to the normal playback speed.
NOTE: During Slow motion, the sound will be off.
SUBTITLE SELECTION (DVD)
1. While a DVD is playing, press the SUBTITLE button to display the current the language setting,
as shown in the example.
2. Press the SUBTITLE button repeatedly to select the desired subtitle language.
NOTE
• If only one language is recorded, the language does not change.
• About two seconds later, playback continues with the new subtitle you selected.I
• If no button is pressed within a few seconds, playback continues without changing the current subtitle.
• The number of languages recorded differs depending on the disc.
• This function can only be used for discs on which subtitles have been recorded in multiple languages.
LANGUAGE SELECTION (DVD)
On some discs, the sound is recorded in two or more formats. Follow the directions below to select the
preferred language and sound system.
1. While a disc is playing, press the LANGUAGE button to show the current audio format number.
2. Press the LANGUAGE button repeatedly to select the desired audio format.

• If only one audio format is recorded, the number does not change.
• About two seconds later, playback continues in the new audio format.
ANGLE SELECTION (DVD)
Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot from a number of different angles. For these
discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these different angles.
1. While you are playing a DVD with different angles recorded, press the ANGLE button to view
the number of the current angle available.
2. Press the ANGLE button repeatedly to change the scene to the next angle in those recorded.
• About two seconds later, playback continues from the new angle you selected.
• If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, playback continues without changing the current angle.

LOCATING A SPECIFIC TITLE (DVD)
If a DVD contains title numbers, you can locate a specific title by directly selecting a title number.
1. Press the GOTO button.
2. Press the or button to highlight a specific
field and press the corresponding number
button(s) for the title you want.
3. Press the ENTER button to confirm. The Unit will start playback about 3 seconds later.
LOCATING A SPECIFIC CHAPTER / TRACK
If you know the chapter / track number you want to play, you can locate a
specific chapter / track by directly selecting a chapter / track number.
1. Press the GOTO button to search for your desired chapter / track.
2. Press the or button to highlight a chapter / track and press the corresponding number button(s)
for the chapter / track you want.
3. Press the ENTER button to confirm. Playback starts from the selected chapter / track.
LOCATING A SPECIFIC TIME
You can move to a specific location by entering its corresponding time (hours, minutes, seconds)

AUDIO SETUP
1. Press the D.SETUP button to activate the DVD
player OSD menu.
