Notes

• This equipment may not be used on coin service

provided by the telephone company.

• Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore,

you may not be able to use your own telephone

equipment if you are on a party line. Check with your

local telephone company.

• Notice must be given to the telephone company upon

permanent disconnection of your telephone from your

line.

• If your home has specially wired alarm equipment

connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation

of this product does not disable your alarm equipment.

If you have questions about what will disable alarm

equipment, consult your telephone company or a

qualiﬁed installer.

2 Rights of the Telephone Company

Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which

may harm the telephone network, the telephone company

shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary

discontinuance of service may be required. Where prior

notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant

such action, the telephone company may temporarily

ꢁ

discontinue service immediately. In case of such

temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must:

(1) promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance;

(ꢀ) afford you the opportunity to correct the situation; and

(ꢁ) inform you of your right to bring a complaint to the

Commission pursuant to procedures set forth in Subpart E

of Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.

The telephone company may make changes in its

Introduction

instructions that should always be

followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT SAFETY

operate on electricity, you should have at

least one phone in your home that isn’t

cordless, in case the power in your home

goes out.

Installation

Digital Security System

Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to

protect against false ringing, unauthorized access, and

charges to your phone line.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless

telephones operate at frequencies that

may cause or receive interference with

nearby TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To

minimize or prevent such interference, the

base of the cordless telephone should not

be placed near or on top of a TV, microwave

ovens, or VCR. If such interference continues,

move the cordless telephone farther away

from these appliances.

Certain other communications devices

may also use the 2.4 GHz frequency for

communication, and, if not properly set,

these devices may interfere with each

other and/or your new telephone. If you are

concerned with interference, please refer

to the owner’s manual for these devices

on how to properly set channels to avoid

interference. Typical devices that may use

the 2.4 GHz frequency for communication

include wireless audio/video senders,

wireless computer networks, multi-handset

cordless telephone systems, and some long-

range cordless telephone systems.

Important Installation Guidelines

• Avoid sources of noise and heat, such as motors,

ﬂuorescent lighting, microwave ovens, heating

appliances and direct sunlight.

• Avoid areas of excessive dust, moisture and low

temperature.

• Avoid other cordless telephones or personal

computers.

• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning

storm.

• Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless

the jack is speciﬁcally designed for wet locations.

• Never touch non-insulated telephone wires or

terminals, unless the telephone line has been

disconnected at the network interface.

• Use caution when installing or modifying telephone

lines.

Installing the Phone

Installing the Handset Battery

NOTE: You must connect the handset battery

before use.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of ﬁre or

personal injury, use only the Thomson Inc.

approved Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery

model 5-2459 or Nickel Metal Hydride

battery model 5-2522 that is compatible

with this unit.

1. Locate battery and battery door which are packaged

together inside a plastic bag and are separate from

the handset.

ꢀ. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the

handset.

ꢁ. Plug the battery pack cord into the jack inside the

compartment.

the connector is keyed and can be inserted

5. Close the battery compartment by pushing the door

up until it snaps into place.

Base Station

1. Choose an area near an electrical outlet and a

telephone wall jack (RJ11C), and place your cordless

telephone on a level surface, such as a desktop or

tabletop, or you may mount it on the wall.

ꢀ. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL

LINE jack on the bottom of the base and the other end

into a modular jack.

ꢁ. Plug the AC power converter into the electrical outlet

and the DC connector into the jack on the bottom of

the base.

ꢂ. Set the ringer switch (on the handset) to ON, and place

the handset in the cradle on the base.

5. The charge/in use indicator turns on, verifying the

battery is charging. The unit will take ꢀ0 seconds to

use. If you don’t properly charge the phone, battery

performance is compromised.

CAUTION: To reduce risk of personal injury,

ﬁre, or damage use only the 5-2617 or

5-2748 power adaptor listed in the user’s

guide. This power adaptor is intended to

be correctly orientated in a vertical or

ﬂoor mount position.

Wall Mounting

If you want to mount the phone on a wall, slip the

mounting holes (on the back of the base) over the wall

plate posts, and slide the unit down into place. (Wall

plate not included.)

Handset Setup

There are ﬁve programmable menus available: Language,

Local Area Code, Ringer Tone, Tone/Pulse and Factory

Default. When you program these settings, make sure the

phone is OFF (not in talk mode). Pressing the TONE*/exit

button will remove you from the menu selection process

without changing the feature you are in.

Display Language

1. Press the ﬂash/program button until 1ENG 2FRA 3ESP

shows in the display.

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button or the handset

number pad to select 1 (English), ꢀ (French), or ꢁ

(Spanish). The default setting is 1ENG.

ꢁ. Press the ﬂash/program button to conﬁrm and to

advance to the next menu feature.

Local Area Code

If you enter your local ꢁ-digit area code in the area code

menu, your local area code does not display on the

Caller ID (CID) list. Instead, you only see the local 7-digit

number. Calls received from outside your local area code

will display the full 10-digit number.

1. Press the ﬂash/program button until AREA CODE - - -

shows in the display. The default setting is - - -.

ꢀ. Use the handset number pad to enter your ꢁ-digit

area code.

NOTE: If you make a mistake, press the

delete/channel button to erase the incorrect

area code and repeat step 2.

ꢁ. Press the ﬂash/program button to conﬁrm and to

advance to the next menu feature.

Ringer Tone

1. Press the ﬂash/program button until RINGER TONE

shows in the display.

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button or the handset

number pad (1-ꢁ) to enter your selection from Ringer

Tone 1, ꢀ, or ꢁ. The default setting is RINGER TONE 1.

ꢁ. Press the ﬂash/program button to conﬁrm and to

advance to the next menu feature.

Tone/Pulse

1. Press the ﬂash/program button until 1 TONE 2 PULSE

shows in the display.

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button or the handset

number pad to enter your selection. The default

setting is 1 TONE.

ꢁ. Press the ﬂash/program button to conﬁrm and to

advance to the next menu feature.

Factory Default

This feature allows you to restore the unit’s original

features.

1. Press the ﬂash/program button until DEFAULT shows

in the display.

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to scroll to YES o NO.

The default setting is NO.

ꢁ. Press ﬂash/program to conﬁrm. You will hear a

conﬁrmation tone.

Cordless Phone Basics

Making a Call

1. Press the talk/call back button and dial the desired

number.

-OR-

To perform preview dial, dial the number ﬁrst then

press the talk/call back button.

ꢀ. To hang up, press the talk/call back button or place

the handset in the cradle.

Receiving a Call

1. To answer a call press the talk/call back button on the

handset before you begin speaking.

ꢀ. To hang up, press the talk/call back button or place

the handset in the cradle.

Redial

Press the redial button to quickly dial the last number

you called (up to ꢁꢀ digits).

If you get a busy signal, and want to keep dialing the

number, press redial to dial the number again.

In Use Indicator

When the charge/in use indicator on the base is lit, the

handset is either in use or charging. The charge/in use

indicator on the base and the incoming-call-alarm at the

base front cradle ﬂash when you receive a call.

Flash

If you subscribe to the combined Call Waiting Caller

ID service from your local telephone company you

will receive Caller ID information (if available) on Call

Waiting calls. During a phone call, you will hear a beep

to indicate another call is waiting on the line and Caller

ID information for the waiting call shows on the handset

display. To connect the waiting call, press the ﬂash/

program button on the handset and your original call is

put on hold. You may switch back and forth between the

two calls by pressing the ﬂash/program button.

TIP: Do not use the talk/call back button to

activate custom calling services such as call

waiting, or you’ll hang up the phone.

Volume

When the phone is ON, press the CID/vol (5 or 6) on the

handset to adjust the volume of the handset’s earpiece.

There are four settings. Press the CID/vol 5 to increase

the volume and CID/vol 6 arrow to decrease the volume.

You will see the volume setting on the handset display.

VOL ꢂ is the maximum and VOL 1 is the minimum.

Channel Button

While talking on the phone, you might need to manually

change the channel in order to reduce static caused

by appliances, such as baby monitors, garage door

openers, microwave ovens, or other cordless phones.

Press and release the delete/channel button to move to

the next clear channel.

Temporary Tone

This feature is useful only if you have pulse (rotary)

service. Temporary Tone Dialing enables pulse (rotary)

service phone users to access touchtone services

offered by banks, credit card companies, etc.

For example, when you call your bank you may need to

enter your bank account number. Temporarily switching

to touchtone mode allows you to send your number.

1. Dial the telephone number and wait for the line to

connect.

ꢀ. When your call is answered, press the TONE*/exit

button on the handset to temporarily change from

pulse dialing to tone dialing.

ꢁ. Follow the automated instructions to get the

information you need.

ꢂ. Hang up the handset and the phone automatically

returns to pulse (rotary) dialing mode.

Exit

Press the TONE*/exit button to cancel any command you

initiated.

Ringer On/Off

1. Press ringer button to enter the ringer on/ off setting

menu and current setting will show in display.

ꢀ. Press ringer button again to select the setting and you

will hear the conﬁrmation tone.

NOTE: If you turn the ringer OFF, RINGER OFF

shows in the display.

ꢀꢂ

Paging the Handset

This feature helps to locate a misplaced handset.

Press the page button on the base. The handset will beep

for about two minutes or until you press talk/call back on

the handset or press the page button on the base.

NOTE: You can still page the handset if the

ringer is turned off. If the battery is dead, the

Paging feature will not work.

Volume Boost

During a conversation, you may increase the volume by

pressing the Vol Boost button, AUDIO BOOST will show in

display. The volume will return to its original setting when

you hang up the phone or if you press the vol Boost

button again during conversation.

NOTE: The Volume Boost feature can be

turned on at any Volume Level setting during

conversation. Also, the volume level can still

be adjusted after the Audio Boost Feature is

enabled by using the CID/vol (5 or 6) button.

Caller ID (CID)

IMPORTANT: In order to use this unit’s Caller

ID features, you must subscribe to either the

standard Name/Number Caller ID Service

or Call Waiting Caller ID Service. To know

who is calling while you are on the phone,

you must subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID

Service.

This unit receives and displays information transmitted

by your local phone company. This information can

include the phone number, date, and time; or the name,

phone number, date, and time.

Call Waiting Caller ID

Provided you subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID service

from your phone company; if you receive an incoming

call and you are already on the phone, a beep indicates

the presence of a Call Waiting call on the line. Only the

handset that is in use at the time of the call will display

and store the Call Waiting Caller ID information.

• When you hear the call waiting beep in the handset

receiver, press the ﬂash/program button to put the

current call on hold and answer the incoming call.

Press ﬂash/program again to return to the original call.

Receiving CID Records

When you receive a call, the Caller ID information is

transmitted between the ﬁrst and second ring. The Caller

ID information appears on the display while the phone

rings, giving you a chance to monitor the information

and decide whether or not to answer the call.

Storing CID Records (In CID Memory)

If you are not at home or cannot answer, your

telephone’s Caller ID memory stores the data for the

ꢂ0 most recent calls you received so you can see who

called while you were unavailable. When the ꢂ1st

call is received, the oldest Caller ID record (1st call) is

automatically deleted.

You may review the stored information at any time. Calls

received since your last review show as NEW in the

display. Calls that have not been previously reviewed but

were received from the same number more than once

show as REPT in the display.

Reviewing CID Records

As calls are received and stored, the display is updated

to let you know how many calls have been received. To

scroll CID records:

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Press the CID/vol (6) button to review the newest CID

record.

ꢁ. Press the CID/vol (5) button to review the oldest CID

record ﬁrst.

Dialing a CID Number

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to display the desired

record.

ꢁ. Press the talk/call back button. The number dials

automatically.

NOTE: Depending on (a) how the incoming

caller’s phone number is formatted when

it is received, and (b) whether or not you

previously pre-programmed your local area

code into the set up menu, you may need to

adjust the format of the incoming caller’s

stored phone number before making the

call, press the format button to adjust the

number, and try again.

Storing CID Records in Internal Memory

You may also store CID information in the phone’s

internal memory.

NOTE: It is important that you format CID

records correctly BEFORE storing in internal

memory as you cannot reformat CID records

stored in memory.

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to scroll to the

desired CID record.

ꢁ. Press the mem button.

ꢂ. Use the touch-tone pad to enter a memory location

(0-9) to store the number in that memory location. You

will hear a conﬁrmation tone.

NOTE: If the memory location is occupied,

REPLACE MEMO? is displayed, and you must

conﬁrm replacement by pressing the mem

button.

NOTE: Press the TONE*/exit button once

to keep the previous setting (making no

changes) and return to the menu.

NOTE: If the selected CID record contains

any information that is non-numeric, the

unit will not allow this record to transfer to

the internal user memory. The handset will

display UNABLE TO STORE.

To Replace a Stored CID Record

1. Repeat steps 1 through ꢁ in Storing CID Records in

Internal Memory. After you enter the memory location,

REPLACE MEMO? shows in the display.

ꢀ. Press the mem button again, and the new CID record

replaces the old memory in that location. You will hear

a conﬁrmation tone.

Deleting a CID Record

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to display the CID

record you want to delete.

ꢁ. Press delete/channel. The display shows DELETE CALL

ID?.

ꢁ1

ꢂ. Press delete/channel again to erase the record and

the next Caller ID record shows in the display. You will

hear a conﬁrmation tone.

NOTE: Press the TONE*/exit key to return to

the standby mode.

Deleting All CID Records

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to display any Caller

ID record.

ꢁ. Press and hold the delete/channel button until DELETE

ALL? shows in the display.

ꢂ. Press delete/channel again to erase all records. You

will hear a conﬁrmation tone. The display shows NO

CALLS.

NOTE: Press the TONE*/exit key to return to

the standby mode.

Memory

Each handset can store up to ten ꢀꢂ-digit numbers with

up to 15-character names in memory for quick dialing.

This memory feature is in addition to the CID memory

log, which stores up to ꢂ0 CID records in each handset.

Storing a Name and Number in Memory

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).

ꢀ. Press the mem button.

ꢁ. Press the desired memory location (0 through 9) or

use CID/vol (5 or 6) to scroll to the desired memory

location.

NOTE: If the memory location is occupied, the

memory location number and stored name

and telephone number shows in the display.

If the memory location is empty. EMPTY

shows in the display.

ꢂ. Press the mem button again. The display shows

ENTER NAME.

NOTE: If you don’t want to enter the name,

skip step 5.

ꢁꢁ

5. Use the touch-tone pad on the handset to enter the

name (up to 15 characters) and press the mem button

to save. More than one letter is stored in each of the

number keys. For example, to enter the name Bill

Smith, press the ꢀ key twice for the letter B. Press the

ꢂ key ꢁ times for the letter I. Press the 5 key ꢁ times

for the letter L. Wait for one second. Press the 5 key ꢁ

times for the second letter L. Press the 1 key to insert a

space between the L and the S. Press the 7 key ꢂ times

for the letter S; press the 6 key once for the letter M;

press the ꢂ key ꢁ times for the letter I; press the 8 key

for the letter T; press the ꢂ key twice for the letter H.

NOTE: If you make a mistake press the

delete/channel button to backspace and

erase the wrong character(s) or number(s).

Inserting a Pause in the Dialing Sequence

of a Stored Number

If a pause is needed to wait for a dial or access tone,

press the # button to insert a delay in dialing sequence

of a stored number (for example, after you dial 9 for

an outside line, or to wait for a computer access tone).

Pause shows in the display as a P, and each pause

counts as one digit in the dialing sequence.

Changing a Stored Number

1. Repeat steps 1 through 7 in Storing a Name and

Number in Memory.

ꢀ. Press the mem button, and REPLACE MEMO? shows in

the display.

ꢁ. Press the mem button to store the number. You will

hear a conﬁrmation tone.

Reviewing and Deleting Stored Numbers

1. To review stored numbers, press the mem button,

and use the CID/vol (5 or 6) button to scroll to the

memory location, or press the corresponding number

key for a desired memory location (0-9).

channel button. The display shows DELETE? .

Dialing a Stored Number

Chain Dialing from Memory

Use this feature to make calls which require a sequence

of numbers, such as calling card calls to a frequently

called long distance number. Each part of the sequence

is dialed from memory. The following example shows you

how to use chain dialing to make a call through a long

distance service:

Changing the Battery

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of ﬁre or

personal injury, use only the Thomson Inc.

approved Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery

model 5-2459 or Nickel Metal Hydride

battery model 5-2522, that is compatible

with this unit.

1. Make sure the telephone is OFF (not in TALK mode)

before you replace battery.

ꢀ. Remove the battery compartment door.

ꢁ. Disconnect the cord attached to the battery pack and

remove the battery pack from the handset.

ꢂ. Insert the new battery pack and connect the cord to

the jack inside the battery compartment.

5. Put the battery compartment door back on.

6. Place handset in the base to charge. Allow the

handset battery to properly charge (for 16 hours)

prior to ﬁrst use or when you install a new battery

pack. If you do not properly charge the phone,

battery performance will be compromised.

• Do not burn, disassemble, mutilate, or puncture. Like

other batteries of this type, toxic materials could be

released which can cause injury.

• To reduce the risk of ﬁre or personal injury, use only

the Nickel-Cadmium or Nickel-Metal Hydride

battery listed in the User’s Guide.

• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

• Remove batteries if storing over ꢁ0 days.

Caller ID Solutions

No Display

• The battery must be fully charged. Try replacing the

battery.

• Make sure that the unit is connected to a non-

switched electrical outlet. Disconnect the unit from

the wall and plug it in again.

• You must be subscribed to Caller ID service from your

local telephone company in order to receive Caller ID

records.

Caller ID Error Message

• This message indicates either the presence of noise

on the line, or that an invalid message has been sent

from the telephone company.

Cordless Phone Solutions

No dial tone

• Check installation:

Make sure the base power cord is connected to a

working electrical outlet.

Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the

base unit and the wall phone jack.

• Connect another phone to the same modular jack; if

the second phone doesn’t work, the problem might

be with your wiring or local service.

• The handset may be out of range of the base. Move

closer to the base.

• Make sure the battery is properly charged (for 16

hours).

• Ensure the battery pack is installed correctly.

• Did the handset beep when you pressed the talk/

call back button? Did the in use/charge indicator

come on? The battery may need to be charged.

• Place the handset in the base for at least ꢀ0 seconds.

Handset does not ring

• Make sure the RINGER switch on the handset is

turned ON.

• Move closer to the base. The handset may be out of

range.

• You may have too many extension phones on your

line. Try unplugging some phones.

• Check for a dial tone.

an electrical outlet with another household appliance.

• You’re out of range of the base.

To keep your telephone working and looking good, follow

What your warranty covers:

Sistema Digital de Seguridad

Su teléfono inalámbrico usa un sistema de seguridad digital

para evitar el timbrado falso, el uso no autorizado y cargos a

su línea telefónica.

NOTA SOBRE LA INSTALACIÓN: Algunos teléfonos

inalámbricos operan a frecuencias que pueden

causar o recibir interferencia con aparatos de

televisión, hornos de microondas, hornos, o

videocaseteras que se encuentren cerca de este

aparato. Para minimizar o evitar dicha interferencia,

la base del teléfono inalámbrico no debe ser

colocada cerca o encima de la televisión, de un

horno de microondas, o de la videocasetera. Si dicha

1. Localice la puerta de la batería y la batería que vienen

empacadas juntos dentro de una bolsa de plástico y están

separados del auricular.

ꢀ. Localice el compartimento de la batería en la parte

posterior del auricular.

ꢁ. Conecte el cable de la batería en el conector dentro del

compartimento. REGISTRAR aparezca en la pantalla.

1. Escoja un área cerca de un enchufe eléctrico y un

enchufe modular telefónico (RJ11C), y coloque su teléfono

inalámbrico sobre una superﬁcie plana y nivelada como

una mesa o un escritorio, o usted puede montarlo sobre la

pared.

ꢀ. Conecte un extremo de la línea telefónica dentro del

enchufe marcado TEL LINE en la parte inferior de la base y

el otro extremo dentro de un enchufe modular de pared.

ꢁ. Conecte el convertidor de la corriente eléctrica AC dentro

del enchufe eléctrico y el conector DC dentro del enchufe

en la parte inferior de la base.

ꢂ. Seleccione el conmutador de timbre (en el auricular) en

ON, y coloque el auricular en la base.

5. El indicador del en uso /carga se ilumina para veriﬁcar que

el aparato está cargando. La unidad tardará ꢀ0 segundos

para registrar y veriﬁcar su código de seguridad.

6. Deje que el teléfono se cargue durante 16 horas

antes de utilizarlo por primera vez. Si usted no carga

adecuadamente el teléfono, el funcionamiento de la

batería podría deteriorarse.

CUIDADO: Para reducir el riesgo de lesión

personal, fuego, o daño use solamente el

adaptador de corriente 5-2617 ó 5-2748 listado

en la guia del usuario. Este adaptador de

corriente es diseñado para estar orientado

correctamente en una posición de montaje

vertical o en el piso.

Montaje en la Pared

Si usted desea montar el teléfono en una pared, deslice los

agujeros de montaje (en la parte posterior de la base) sobre

los postes de la placa de pared, y deslice hacia abajo la

unidad en su sitio. (No se incluye la placa para la pared).

Programación

Hay cinco menús disponibles: Idioma de la Pantella, Clave de

Área, Tono del Timbre, Tono/Pulso, o Programacion de Fábrica.

Cuando se programe estas opciones, asegúrese de que el

teléfono esté en OFF (no en el modo hablar). Presionar el

botón TONE*/exit lo hará salir del proceso de selección de

menú sin cambiar la característica en la que usted está.

Idioma en Pantalla

1. Presione el botón ﬂash/program hasta que 1ENG 2FRA

Código de Area Local

Si usted ingresó un código de área local de tres dígitos en

el menú del código de área, su código de área local no se

muestra en la lista del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas (CID). En su

lugar, usted solamente verá el número de siete dígitos local.

Las llamadas recibidas de fuera de su código de área local

mostrarán el número de 10 dígitos completo.

1. Presione el botón ﬂash/program hasta que AREA LOCAL

- - - se muestre en la pantalla. La selección de fábrica es

‑ ‑ ‑.

ꢀ. Use el teclado numérico del auricular para ingresar su

código de área de tres dígitos.

NOTA: Si comete un error, presione el botón

delete/channel para borrar el código de área

incorrecto y repita el paso 2.

Tono de Timbre

Para Hacer una Llamada

1. Presione el botón talk/call back y marque el número

Para efectuar una marcación de previsualización, marque

el número luego presione el botón talk/call back.

ꢀ. Para colgar, presione el botón talk/call back o coloque el

auricular en la base o en la base de carga.

Para recibir una Llamada

1. Para responder una llamada presione el botón talk/

call back en el auricular antes de comenzar a hablar.

Volver a Marcar

Presione el botón redial para volver a marcar rápidamente el

último número al que usted llamó (hasta ꢁꢀ dígitos).

Si usted obtiene una señal de ocupado, y quiere seguir

marcando el número, presione redial para marcar el número

directament.

Indicador en Uso

Cuando el indicador carga/en uso en la base esté iluminado,

el auricular está en uso o cargando. El indicador charge/in

use en la base y la alarma de llamada entrante al frente de

la base parpadean cuando usted recibe una llamada.

Flash

Si usted se suscribe al servicio combinado de Llamada en

Espera e Identiﬁcador de Llamada con la compañía de

telefonía local usted recibirá información de Identiﬁcador de

Llamada (si está disponible) en las llamadas con la opción

de Llamada en Espera. Durante una llamada telefónica,

usted escuchará un bip para indicar que otra llamada está

esperando en la línea y la información de Identiﬁcador de

Llamada para la llamada en espera se muestra en la pantalla

del auricular. Para conectar la llamada en espera, presione

el botón ﬂash/program en el auricular y su llamada original

es colocada en retención. Usted puede alternar entre las dos

llamadas presionando el botón ﬂash/program.

ꢀꢀ

TIP: No use el botón talk/call back para activar los

servicios de llamada personalizada tales como

llamada en espera, o usted colgará el teléfono.

Volumen

Cuando el teléfono esté en ON, presione CID/vol (5 o 6) en el

auricular para ajustar el volumen de escucha en el auricular.

Hay cuatro selecciones. Presione el botón CID/vol 5 para

aumentar el volumen y el botón CID/vol 6 para disminuir el

volumen. Usted verá la selección de volumen en la pantalla

del auricular.VOL ꢂ es el máximo y VOL 1 es el mínimo.

Botón de Canal

Mientras habla en el teléfono, usted tal vez necesite cambiar

manualmente de canal para reducir la estática causada

por electrodomésticos, tales como monitores de bebé,

mecanismos de apertura de puertas de garage, hornos de

microondas, u otros teléfonos inalámbricos. Presione y suelte

el botón delete/channel para moverse al siguiente canal

limpio.

Tono Temporal

La modalidad es útil solamente si usted tiene servicio

de pulsos (rotatorio). La Marcación de Tonos Temporal

permite a los usuarios de teléfonos de servicio por pulsos

(rotatorio) accesar a servicios activados por tonos ofrecidos

por bancos, compañía de tarjetas de crédito, etcétera.

ꢀꢁ

Por ejemplo, cuando usted llama a su banco usted puede

necesitar ingresar su número de cuenta bancaria. Alternar

temporalmente al modo de tonos le permite enviar su

número.

1. Marque el número telefónico y espere la conexión con la

ꢀ. Cuando su llamada sea respondida, presione el botón

TONE*/exit en el auricular para cambiar temporalmente

de marcación por pulsos a marcación por tonos.

regresa al modo de marcación por pulsos (rotatorio) .

Pasa Salir

Presione el botón TONE*/exit para cancelar cualquier

comando que usted inició.

Timbre On/Off

1. Presione el botón ringer para entrar al menú de

conﬁguración de timbre on/ off y la conﬁguración actual

se mostrará en pantalla.

ꢀ. Presione el botón ringer otra vez para seleccionar la

conﬁguración y usted escuchará al tono de conﬁrmación.

NOTA: Si usted apaga el timbre OFF, RINGER OFF

se muestra en la pantalla.

Búsqueda del Auricular

Esta opción le ayuda a localizar un auricular extraviado.

Presione el botón page en la base. El auricular emitirá un bip

por dos minutos o hasta que usted presione talk/call back en

el auricular o presione el botón page en la base.

NOTA: Usted puede todavía buscar el auricular

si el timbre está desactivado. Si la batería está

muerta, la opción de Búsqueda no funcionará.

Realce de volumen

Durante la conversación, usted puede aumentar el volumen

presionando el botón Vol Boost, AUDIO BOOST se mostrará

en la pantalla. El volumen regresará a su nivel original

cuando usted cuelgue el teléfono o si usted presiona el

botón Vol Boost otra vez durante la conversación.

NOTA: La característica de Realce de Volumen

puede ser activada en cualquier selección de Nivel

telefónico, fecha y hora. Cada auricular puede guardar en

memoria hasta ꢂ0 llamadas para ser revisadas después.

Suponiendo que usted está suscrito al servicio de

Identiﬁcador de Llamada en Espera a través de su compañía

telefónica; si usted recibe una llamada entrante y usted

está utilizando la GE multi ﬁja a mano el sistema, una señal

sonora indica que la presencia de Llamada en Espera

llamada invita la línea. La información de Identiﬁcador

de Llamada en Espera será exhibida y almacenada en la

historia de todos los auriculares en el sistema.

• Cuando usted escuche el tono de llamada en espera en

la bocina del auricular, prima el botón ﬂash/program para

poner la llamada actual en espera y poder contestar la

Recibir Archivos del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas

Cuando usted recibe una llamada, la información es

transmitida entre el primero y el segundo timbre. La

oportunidad de ver la información y decidir si quiere o no

contestar la llamada.

Almacenar Archivos del Identiﬁcador de

Llamadas (en la Memoria de CID)

Si usted no está en casa o no puede contestar, la

memoria del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas de su teléfono

automáticamente almacena la información de las ꢂ0 últimas

llamadas para que sepa quién llamó mientras usted no

estuvo disponible. Cuando la llamada número ꢂ1 es recibida,

el último archivo del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas (la primera

llamada) se borra automáticamente.

Usted puede revisar la información almacenada en cualquier

momento. Las llamadas recibidas desde la última revisión,

se mostrarán NUEVA en la pantalla. Llamadas que no han

sido revisadas previamente pero fueron recibidas desde el

mismo número más de una vez se muestran como REPT en

la pantalla.

Revisar los Archivos de Identiﬁcador (CID)

A medida que se reciben y se almacenan archivos del

Identiﬁcador de Llamadas, la pantalla se actualiza para

hacerle saber cuántas llamadas se han recibido. Para

recorrer los archivos del identiﬁcador de Llamadas:

Marcar un Número del Identiﬁcador de

Llamadas

1. Asegúrese que el teléfono esté desactivado OFF (no en el

modo hablar).

deseado.

automáticamente.

NOTA: Dependiendo de (a) cómo estaba

Almacenar Archivos del Identiﬁcador de

Llamadas en la Memoria Interna

Usted puede almacenar información del Identiﬁcador de

Llamadas en la memoria interna del teléfono.

NOTA: Es importante que usted formatee los

registros CID correctamente ANTES de almacenar

en memoria interna ya que usted no puede

reformatear registros CID almacenados en

memoria.

1. Asegúrese que el teléfono esté desactivado OFF (no en el

modo hablar).

ꢀ. Utilice los botones CID/vol (5 o 6) para llegar al archivo

deseado.

ꢁ. Presione el botón mem.

ꢂ. Utilice el teclado numérico para inscribir un número de

localización de memoria (0‑9) para almacenar el archivo

en la localización de memoria. Usted escuchará un tono

de conﬁrmación.

NOTA: Si esa localización de memoria está

ocupada, el aparato le pregunta REMPLAZAR

MEMO?, y usted debe conﬁrmar el reemplazo

oprimiendo el botón de mem.

NOTA: Presione el botón TONE*/exit una vez para

mantener la programación anterior (sin hacer

cambios) y regrese al menú.

NOTA: Si el registro CID seleccionado contiene

alguna información que no sea numérica,

la unidad no permitirá que este registro sea

transferido a la memoria del usuario interna. El

auricular mostrará NO PUEDE ALMACE.

Para Reemplazar un Registro CID Almacenado

1. Repita los pasos 1 al ꢁ en la sección Almacenar Archivos

del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas en la Memoria Interna.

Después de inscribir la localización de memoria, el

aparato le pregunta si quiere reemplazar el mensaje

REMPLAZAR MEMO? en la pantalla.

ꢀ. Oprima nuevamente el botón mem, y el archivo nuevo

del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas reemplaza al viejo en esa

localización de memoria. Usted escuchará un tono de

conﬁrmación.

1. Asegúrese que el teléfono esté desactivado OFF (no en el

modo hablar).

Memoria

Cada auricular puede guardar en memoria hasta 10

números de ꢀꢂ dígitos con nombres de hasta 15 caracteres

para marcación rápida. Esta opción de memoria es además

del registro en memoria CID, que almacena hasta ꢂ0

registros CID en cada auricular.

Almacenar un Nombre y Número en la

Memoria

1. Asegúrese que el teléfono esté desactivado OFF (no en el

modo hablar).

ꢀ. Presione el botón mem.

ꢁ. Oprima el número deseado de la localización de memoria

(0 al 9), o utilice los botones CID/vol (5 o 6) para llegar a

la localizaci’on deseada.

NOTA: Si la localización de memoria está

ocupada, el número de esa localización de

memoria y lo que contiene aparecerán en la

pantalla. Si la localización de memoria está vacía,

la indicación VACIO aparece en la pantalla

ꢂ. Presione nuevamente el botón mem. La pantalla le indica

que INSCRIBA NOMBRE.

NOTA: Si usted no quiere inscribir el nombre,

salte el paso 5.

5. Utilice el teclado numérico en el auricular para inscribir

el nombre (hasta 15 caracteres) y oprima el número de

la localización de memoria para salvar. Más de una letra

está almacenada en cada tecla numérica. Por ejemplo,

para inscribir “Bill Smith”, oprima la tecla del ꢀ dos veces

para la letra B. Oprima la tecla del ꢂ tres veces para la

letra I. Oprima la tecla del 5 tres veces para la L. Después

de un segundo, oprima la tecla del 5 tres veces para la

segunda L y oprima la tecla del 1 para inscribir un espacio

entre las letras L y S. Oprima la tecla del ꢃ cuatro veces

para la letra S. Oprima la tecla del 6 una vez para la M;

oprima el ꢂ tres veces para la I; oprima el 8 para la T; y el ꢂ

dos veces para la H.

NOTA: Si usted comete un error al marcar el

número, utilice el botón para borrar DELETE/

Channel para retrodeder, borrar el (los) número(s)

equivocado e inscribir el (los) número(s) o

carácter(es) correcto(s).

6. Presione el botón mem para salvar el nombre. La pantalla

le indica que inscriba el número telefónico INSCRIB NUM

TEL.

ꢃ. Utilice el teclado numérico para inscribir el número

telefónico que usted quiera almacenar (hasta ꢀꢂ dígitos).

NOTA: El sistema trata las PAUSAS como retrasos

o espacios en la secuencia de marcado.

8. Presione nuevamente el botón mem para almacenar el

número. Usted escuchará un tono de conﬁrmación.

Guardar el Ultimo Número Marcado

1. Repita los pasos del 1 al 6 de la sección “Almacenar un

Nombre y Número en la Memoria.”

ꢁ. Presione el botón mem para almacenar el número. Usted

escuchará un tono de conﬁrmación.

Para remplazar un número viejo que va a volverse a

marcar con uno nuevo:

Introducir una Pausa en la Secuencia de

Marcado de un Número Almacenado

Oprima el botón #PAUSEuna vez para introducir un retraso

en la secuencia de marcado de un número telefónico

almacenado cuando una pausa es necesaria para esperar

al tono de marcar (por ejemplo después de que usted marca

9 para obtener línea externa, o para esperar e tono de

acceso en una computadora). La pausa se representa en la

pantalla con una “P.” Cada pausa cuenta como 1 dígito en la

secuencia de marcado

Cambiar un Número Almacenado

1. Repita los pasos 1 al ꢃ de la sección “Almacenar un

Nombre y Número en la Memoria.”

ꢀ. Presione el botón mem. El aparato le pregunta si reemplaza

el mensaje REMPLAZAR MEMO?.

ꢁ. Presione nuevamente el botón mem para almacenar el

Revisar y Borrar Números Almacenados

1. Para revisar números almacenados, oprima el botón mem

y después utilice el botón CID/vol (5 o 6) para llegar a

la localización de memoria, u oprima la tecla del número

correspondiente de la localización de memoria (0‑9).

Marcado en Cadena desde la Memoria

Use esta función para hacer llamadas que requieren una

secuencia de números como el usar una tarjeta para llamar

por teléfono o un número de larga distancia al que usted

llama frecuentemente. Cada parte de la secuencia se marca

desde la memoria. El siguiente ejemplo le muestra cómo

puede usted utilizar el marcado en cadena para hacer una

llamada a través de un servicio de larga distancia:

carga adecuadamente el teléfono, el funcionamiento de

la batería podría deteriorarse.

No aparece nada en la pantalla

• Cargue (por 16 horas) o substituya completamente la

batería.

desactivarse con un apagador. Desconecte el cable de

corriente de la base y vuelva a conectarlo.

Incompleta del Identiﬁcador de Llamadas

• La unidad muestra este mensaje si detecta algo distinto

que información válida de Identiﬁcador de Llamada

durante el período de silencio después del primer timbre.

No hay tono de marcar

• Veriﬁque o repita los pasos para la instalación.

• Asegúrese que el cable de la base esté conectado a un

contacto que sirve.

• Desconecte la base del enchufe de pared y conecte otro

Cuidado General del Producto
