Intended Use   This appliance is designed for the   reception of AM / FM radio sta-   tions. It is indended for domestic   use. It is not intended for commer-   cial use.   a) To avoid risks of electrical   shock:   • Make sure that the power cord   never becomes wet or damp   during operation. Lay the cord   such that it does not get clam-   ped or otherwise damaged. If   the mains cable is damaged,   get it replaced by the customer   service, before using the instru-   ment again.   2. Repairs   are to be carried out exclusively   by a specialist firm or the service   centre.   c) Electromagnetic fields   This device does not cross the per-   missible limits of electro smog   within the casing. However, if you   still have doubts about installing it   in the bedroom:   • You will be quite safe if you   place the appliance about half   a meter from the bed.   b) To avoid risks of fire and in-   juries:   • Set up the appliance in an   open and well-ventilated area,   so that there are no heat   pockets.   Never cover the ventilation   holes.   • Avoid any additional heat build   up, e.g. direct sunlight, heaters,   other devices, etc.   • Do not allow children or elderly   persons to play with the appli-   ance unsupervised, as they are   not always able to assess the   possible dangers correctly.   At this distance, there will be no   effect even on persons sensitive to   electromagnetic fields.   Note: This appliance is equipped   with non-slip rubber feet. Controls   Before operating the device, make   sure that it is in perfect condition.   Do not use it otherwise.   ƿ Open the battery compartment   at the back or underneath, and   insert a 9V battery pack. Setting the clock   ¹ Adjust the sharpness of the   projection display by rotating   the small FOCUS wheel.   Note: the display is visible only in   darkness at a distance of more   than approx. 0.5 m (e.g. on the   ceiling).   Separate settings must be made in   the clock for the LED and projec-   tion displays.   a) LED display   ᕩ While you keep the TIME key   pressed:   ᕨ Press the HOUR key to set the   hours.   ᕧ Press the MIN key to set the   minutes.   If you can see the time display on   the projected area clearly...   ƺ while you keep the TIME key   pressed:   Ƹ Press the HOUR key to set the   hours.   b) Projection display   ƹ Press the MIN key to set the   minutes.   ¸ Place the PROJECTION switch   in the ON position to switch on   the projection display.   ➪ In case of poor lighting, direct   the projection beam against a   wall or a similar surface.   The set time is automatically   accepted as soon as the TIME   button O is released.   - 7 -   ꢀ KH2214_2215_2216_IB_UK 12.07.2006 16:21 Uhr Seite 8   KH 2214 / 2215 / 2216   7. Setting the wake-up   time   Note: To improve the reception of   radio stations in the UKW/FM fre-   quency range, point the end of the   antennaƻ slowly in various direc-   tions.When you have found a suita-   ble position for the reception of the   set radio station, secure the antenna   ƻ in this position, e.g. with a strip   of adhesive tape.To receive MW/AM   radio stations, a fixed receiver an-   tenna is installed in the appliance.   For improved reception, alter the po-   sition of the appliance in radio mode.   If the time for the LED display is   set as explained above:   ᕥ while you keep the ALARM Set   / Off key pressed:   ᕨ Press the HOUR key to set the   hours.   ᕧ Press the MIN key to set the   minutes.   8. Radio reception   µ Place the function switch in the   ON position.   9. Disposal   Warning: Danger of electrical   shocks.   • Pull the plug out of the socket   before cleaning.   Do not dispose of the   device in normal dome-   stic waste.   • Never open the casing of the   device. There are no operating   controls inside.   Dispose of the device over a regi-   stered waste disposal firm or   through your communal waste di-   sposal facility.   ➪ Clean the instrument only with   a soft, dry piece of cloth.   ➪ Do not use any cleansing   agents or solvents. They can   damage the plastic surfaces.   Observe the currently valid regula-   tions. In case of doubt, consult   your waste disposal facility.   Battery disposal!   Batteries may not be disposed of   with normal domestic waste.
