For more detailed information, see the   Installation Manual.   Protections enabled by the Unit control system   Type of protection   Description   Operation   When it enables   Heating on   heat pump   Protection against cold air   The internal fan is off   During operation   Heating on   heat pump   Defrost cycle   The internal fan is off   The compressor is off   During operation   Anti-frost protection   of internal battery   Cooling During   operation   At start-up or during   the selection   of the operating mode   The start of the   compressor is delayed.   Cooling or Heating   on heat pump   Delayed start of compressor   CAUTION   If the air conditioner is operating in heat pump mode, it performs several defrost cycles in order   to remove the frost that may have deposited on the outdoor unit (at low temperatures).   In this case, the internal fan is switched off automatically and restarted only after the defrost   cycle is completed.   E-9   Operating Recommendations   Here are a few recommendations that you should follow when using your air   conditioner.   Topic   Recommendation   Heating performances   The heat pump function of the air conditioner   absorbs heat from outside air and brings it indoors.   As the temperature of the outside air drops,   the heating performance of air conditioner will decrease.   If you find that the room is not warm enough,   using an additional heating appliance is   recommended.   Frost & Defrost   When outside temperature is low but humidity is high,   frost may form on the outdoor unit at HEAT mode.   If this happens:   The heating operation stops.      T he defrost mode will be triggered automatically for   about 10 minutes.   he steam produced on the outdoor unit in the defrost   mode is safe. (Only for Heat pump)      T No intervention is required ; after about ten minutes,   the air conditioner operates again normally.   High indoor and outdoor If both indoor and outdoor temperatures are high   temperatures   and the air conditioner is running at HEAT mode,   the outdoor unit’s fan and compressor may stop   at times. This is normal ; simply wait until the air   conditioner switches on again.   Power failure   If a power failure occurs while the air conditioner is   operating, the unit will be switched off. When the power   returns, the air conditioner starts up again automatically.   The simultaneous   operation   When you use the heat pump model, it is impossible to   operate HEAT and COOL mode of several indoor units at   the same time.   E-10   Temperature and Humidity Ranges   The following table indicates the temperature and humidity ranges, within which the air conditioner can be used.   If the air conditioner is used at...   Then...   High temperature   The automatic protection feature may be triggered and   the air conditioner stopped.   Low temperature   A water leakage or some other malfunction may happen if the heat   exchanger freezes.   High humidity levels   Water may condense on and drip from the surface of the indoor unit if it is   used for a long period.   Outdoor   Mode   Indoor   Temperature   Indoor   Humidity   Remark   Temperature   -20°C/-4°F to 24°C/75°F   27°C/81°F or less   15°C/59°F to 27°C/81°F   27°C/81°F or less   DVM PLUS II, BAC Inverter(UH052/060/070EAV1)   BAC   -5°C/23°F to 24°C/75°F   Heating   - -15°C/5°F to 24°C/75°F   Free Joint Multi, DVM, BAC Inverter(UH026/035EAV1)   BAC Inverter   -10°C/14°F to 24°C/75°F   -5°C/23°F to 43°C/109°F   27°C/81°F or less   18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F   DVM, DVM PLUS II, BAC Inverter   BAC, Free Joint Multi   -5°C/23°F to 43°C/109°F 21°C/70°F to 32°C/90°F   -10°C/14°F to 43°C/109°F 18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F   Cooling   Drying   80% or less   BAC Inverter(UH026/035EAV1)   BAC Inverter(UH052/060/070EAV1)   DVM, DVM PLUS II, Free Joint Multi, BAC Inverter   BAC   -15°C/5°F to 43°C/109°F   -5°C/23°F to 43°C/109°F   18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F   18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F   -5°C/23°F to 43°C/109°F 21°C/70°F to 32°C/90°F   -10°C/14°F to 43°C/109°F 18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F   - BAC Inverter(UH026/035EAV1)   BAC Inverter(UH052/060/070EAV1)   -15°C/5°F to 43°C/109°F   18°C/64 to 32°C/90°F    The standardized temperature for heating is 7°C/45°F.
