Our lightweight alt-az "Porta" mount
can be the heart of an exceptionally
portable telescope/mount system.
PORTA features a newly designed
friction system for quickly pointing
toward the target and tracking it with
360° slow-motion controls. No fumbling
with clutches or sectional slow-motion
controls! Leave the heavy
Alt-Az Simplicity
Portable, Easy Setup
and Take Down
counterweights with the equatorials:
simply balance scopes up to 155mm
diameter (and up to 11-lbs/5kg) on the
altitude axis and start viewing!
Standard Vixen dovetail mounting slot
with lock and safety screw is fully
SPHINX/GP-compatible. Mounting slot
removes to reveal ¼"-20 and M8-1.25
threaded holes for custom mounting
solutions. PORTA mount features slo-
mo worm with 120-tooth worm gears,
switchable slow-motion knobs, tension
adjustment and disassembly tools,
built-in tool storage bay, tripod tray and aluminum legs.
Tripod height to top of tripod base adjusts from 27.75" to 47.75" / 70cm to 121cm.

Triangle Accessory Tray
Metal tripod tray to hold your observing accessories and lock tripod legs into
place. Fits Vixen and other branded tripods (bolt holes spaced about 9-1/2"
inches apart) including current aluminum tripods for GP, GP-D2, GP2, GP-DX,
GP-E, Sphinx, Porta (invert knob-holder on spreader) and Custom-D mounts.

Flexible Slow Motion Handle
Long flexible handle (290mm/11.5") achieves greater manual tracking
comfort and less vibration on GP-series, SP-series and PORTA mounts. Locks
directly on either axis of motion (also on optional Manual Operation Clutch of
equatorials). Order two for the ultimate slo-mo ride.
