REPEAT PLAY
PLAYS FOR KARAOKE TAPE IN THE DECK A AND CDG/CD.
1. Set the FUNCTION switch to CDG/

Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE button
again. The CD PLAY/PAUSE indicator
will flash.

COMPACT DISC GRAPHICS (CDG)
Preparation
MAINTENANCE
• USE ONLY NORMAL (TYPE I ) TAPES FOR RECORDING.
CLEANING CD
PROBLEMS
No power supply.
ITEMS TO CHECK
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may need
cleaning.
Before playing, wipe the disc from the centre out
with a cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc
in its case.
1. Insert a cassette
into deck B.
2. Press the PAUSE
button on deck B.
3. Press the RECORD
button on deck B.
• Is the power cord unplugged or loose?
• Make sure that the TV set is
correctly connected to this unit
(See TV CONNECTION).
• Prepare CD-Gs.
• Are batteries installed?
• Are the batteries properly aligned?
The cassette cannot be inserted.
• Is the cassette facing the wrong direction when you
try to insert it?
The tape does not run.
The tape gets caught in the tape
transport mechanism.
• Is the PAUSE button depressed?
• Is the pinch roller or capstan dirty?
• Is there excessive slack in the tape?
• Is there excessive slack in the tape?
• Are the heads dirty?
Important notices
RECORD
For recording
• Should the CD door be opened before the reading of the CD is completed, a
jamming noise may occur. This is resolved by closing the CD door.
• Keep the CD door closed at all time to prevent dust from entering the CD
compartment.
• If an abnormal display indication or an operating problem occurs, disconnect the
AC power cord. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect the AC power cord.

4. Prepare the source to be recorded and play it.

• Is the cassette's erasure prevention tab broken off?
• Are the heads dirty?

• Make sure FUNCTION selector is set to CD/CDG.

Tape Care
Cleaning the tape heads
To prevent accidental erasure
Use a screwdriver or pointed tool to
break off the plastic tabs.
To maintain optimum sound quality, clean
the recording playback heads, erase
head, pinch rollers and capstans
regularly (every 10 hours of use). Use
a cotton swab lightly moistened with
cleaning fluid or denatured alcohol.

3.Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playing.
Sound will be heard from the speakers of this unit, and graphics will be shown on
the TV set.
• Pause mode is activated.

to start recording.
Side A
• Make sure to unit is on a secure spot. Vibration or
jarring can cause the disc to skip.
• Is the lens or CD excessively dirty?
• Is the unit subject to excessive vibration?
• Are there any bad scratches on the CD?
• Is the disc with Graphics or CDG marked on disc?
• Is the function switch set to CDG position?
• Is the video in cable plugged in or loose?
• Is the TV set on mute mode?
The CD sound jumps.
No graphics when playing CDG.

Cover the tab openings with cellulose

3.Insert a cassette tape into each cassette
holder and depress the RECORD
button.

Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly wiping with a soft cloth.
• While you operate searching or pause
function, an unusual image may be
displayed on theTV set.This does not
indicate a malfunction.The image will
be recorded a few seconds later after
you press PLAY button to resume
playback again.
• If the color video images of a nearby
television changes while this unit is
operating, move this unit further away
from the television.

in correctly?
Usable disc
Use a disc with GRAPHIC or CDG
marked on its jacket.
When playing a disc other than CDG
with a video image (CD-V, CD-I etc.),
the video image will not shown on the
TV set.
