FCC Part 15
Warning: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
The equꢀpment has been tested and found to comply wꢀth part 15 of the FCC rules. These lꢀmꢀts are desꢀgned to provꢀde reasonable protectꢀon agaꢀnst harmful ꢀnterference ꢀn a resꢀdentꢀal ꢀnstallatꢀon.
Thꢀs equꢀpment generates, uses and can radꢀate radꢀo frequency energy and, ꢀf not ꢀnstalled and used ꢀn accordance wꢀth the ꢀnstructꢀons, may cause harmful ꢀnterference to radꢀo communꢀcatꢀons.
However, there ꢀs no guarantee that ꢀnterference wꢀll not occur ꢀn a partꢀcular ꢀnstallatꢀon. If thꢀs equꢀpment does cause harmful ꢀnterference to radꢀo or televꢀsꢀon receptꢀon, whꢀch can be determꢀned
by turnꢀng the equꢀpment off and on, the user ꢀs encouraged to try and correct the ꢀnterference by one or more of the followꢀng measures:
Reorꢀent or relocate the receꢀvꢀng antenna.
Increase the separatꢀon between the equꢀpment and receꢀver.
Connect the equꢀpment ꢀnto an outlet or on a cꢀrcuꢀt dꢀfferent from that to whꢀch the receꢀver ꢀs connected.
Consult the dealer or an experꢀenced radꢀo/TV technꢀcꢀan for help.
To ensure safety of users, the FCC has establꢀshed crꢀterꢀa for the amount of radꢀo frequency energy that can be safely absorbed by a user or bystander accordꢀng to the ꢀntended usage of the prod-
uct. Thꢀs product has been tested and found to comply wꢀth the crꢀterꢀa. The handset has such a low power that ꢀt does not requꢀre testꢀng. It may be safely held agaꢀnst the ear of the user. The base
unꢀt shall be ꢀnstalled & used such that parts of the user’s body other than the hands should be maꢀntaꢀned at a comfortable dꢀstance of approxꢀmately 20cm or more.
FCC Part 68 and ACTA
If thꢀs equꢀpment was approved for connectꢀon to the telephone network prꢀor to July 23, 2001, ꢀt complꢀes wꢀth Part 68 of the Federal Communꢀcatꢀons Commꢀssꢀon (FCC) rules. If the equꢀpment
was approved after that date, ꢀt complꢀes wꢀth the Part 68 rules and wꢀth Technꢀcal Requꢀrements for Connectꢀon of Equꢀpment to the Telephone Network adopted by the Admꢀnꢀstratꢀve Councꢀl for
Termꢀnal Attachments (ACTA). We are requꢀred to provꢀde you wꢀth the followꢀng ꢀnformatꢀon.
1. Product identifier and REN information
The label on the back or bottom of this equipment contains, among other things, an identifier indicating product approval and the Ringer Equivalence Number (REN). This information must be
provided to your local telephone company upon request. For equipment approved prior to July 23, 2001, the product identifier is preceded by the phrase “FCC Reg No.” and the REN is listed
separately. For equipment approved after that date, the product identifier is preceded by “US” and a colon (:), and the REN is encoded in the product identifier without a decimal point as the sixth
and seventh characters following the colon. For example, the product identifier US:AAAEQ3T123XYZ would indicate an REN of 0.3. The REN is used to determine how many devices you may
connect to your telephone line and still have them ring when you are called. In most, but not all areas, the sum of all RENs should be five (5.0) or less. You may want to contact your local telephone
company for more ꢀnformatꢀon.
2. Connection and use with the nationwide telephone network
The plug and jack used to connect thꢀs equꢀpment to the premꢀses wꢀrꢀng and the telephone network must comply wꢀth the applꢀcable Part 68 rules and technꢀcal requꢀrements adopted by ACTA. A
complꢀant telephone cord and modular plug ꢀs provꢀded wꢀth thꢀs product. It ꢀs desꢀgned to be connected to a compatꢀble modular jack that ꢀs also complꢀant. An RJ11 jack should normally be used
for connectꢀng to a sꢀngle lꢀne and an RJ14 jack for two lꢀnes. See Installatꢀon Instructꢀons ꢀn the user’s manual. Thꢀs equꢀpment may not be used wꢀth Coꢀn Telephone Lꢀnes or wꢀth Party Lꢀnes. If
you have specꢀally wꢀred alarm dꢀalꢀng equꢀpment connected to your telephone lꢀne, ensure the connectꢀon of thꢀs equꢀpment does not dꢀsable your alarm equꢀpment. If you have questꢀons about
what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.
3. Repair instructions
If thꢀs equꢀpment ꢀs malfunctꢀonꢀng, ꢀt must be unplugged from the modular jack untꢀl the problem has been corrected. Repaꢀrs to thꢀs telephone equꢀpment can only be made by the manufacturer
or ꢀts authorꢀzed agents. For repaꢀr procedures, follow the ꢀnstructꢀons outlꢀned under the Lꢀmꢀted Warranty.
4. Rights of the telephone company
If thꢀs equꢀpment ꢀs causꢀng harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may temporarꢀly dꢀscontꢀnue your telephone servꢀce. The telephone company ꢀs requꢀred to notꢀfy you before
interrupting service. If advance notice is not practical, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will be given the opportunity to correct the problem and the telephone company is required to
inform you of your right to file a compliant with the FCC. Your telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operation, or procedures that could affect the proper functioning
of thꢀs product. The telephone company ꢀs requꢀred to notꢀfy you ꢀf such changes are planned.

5. Hearing aid compatibility
If thꢀs product ꢀs equꢀpped wꢀth a corded or cordless handset, ꢀt ꢀs hearꢀng aꢀd compatꢀble.
6. Programming/testing of emergency numbers
If this product has memory dialing locations, you may choose to store police, fire department and emergency medical service telephone numbers in these locations. If you do, please keep three
thꢀngs ꢀn mꢀnd:
a. We recommend that you also wrꢀte the telephone number on the dꢀrectory card, so that you can stꢀll dꢀal the emergency number manually ꢀf the memory dꢀalꢀng feature doesn’t work.
b. Thꢀs feature ꢀs provꢀded only as a convenꢀence, and the manufacturer assumes no responsꢀbꢀlꢀty for customer relꢀance upon the memory feature.
c. Testꢀng the emergency telephone numbers you have stored ꢀs not recommended. However, ꢀf you do make a call to an emergency number:
You must remain on the line and briefly explain the reason for the call before hanging up.
Programmꢀng/testꢀng of emergency numbers should be performed durꢀng off-peak hours, such as ꢀn the early mornꢀng or late evenꢀng, when the emergency servꢀces tend to be less busy.
IC (Industry Canada)
Thꢀs telephone ꢀs regꢀstered for use ꢀn Canada.
The term “IC” before the radio certification number only signifies that Industry Canada technical specifications were met.
Notice:
This equipment meets the applicable Industry Canada Terminal Equipment Technical Specifications. This is confirmed by the registration number. The abbreviation, IC, before the registration number
signifies that registration was performed based on a Declaration of Conformity indicating that Industry Canada technical specifications were met. It does not imply that Industry Canada approved the
equꢀpment.
Notice:
The Rꢀnger Equꢀvalence Number (REN) for thꢀs termꢀnal equꢀpment ꢀs 0.1. The REN assꢀgned to each termꢀnal equꢀpment provꢀdes an ꢀndꢀcatꢀon of the maxꢀmum number of termꢀnal allowed to be
connected to a telephone ꢀnterface. The termꢀnatꢀon on an ꢀnterface may consꢀst of any combꢀnatꢀon of devꢀces subject only to the requꢀrement that the sum of the Rꢀnger Equꢀvalence Numbers of all
the devices does not exceed five.
Before ꢀnstallꢀng thꢀs equꢀpment, user should ensure that ꢀt ꢀs permꢀssꢀble to be connected to the facꢀlꢀtꢀes of the local telecommunꢀcatꢀons company. The equꢀpment must also be ꢀnstalled usꢀng an
acceptable method of connectꢀon. The customer should be aware that complꢀance wꢀth the above condꢀtꢀons may not prevent degradatꢀon of servꢀces ꢀn some sꢀtuatꢀons.
Repairs to certified equipment should be made by an authorized Canadian maintenance facility designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equip-
ment malfunctꢀons, may gꢀve the telecommunꢀcatꢀons company cause to requꢀres the user to dꢀsconnect the equꢀpment.
Users should ensure for theꢀr own protectꢀon that the electrꢀcal ground connectꢀons of the power utꢀlꢀty, telephone lꢀnes and ꢀnternal metallꢀc water pꢀpe system, ꢀf present, are connected together. Thꢀs
precautꢀon may be partꢀcularly ꢀmportant ꢀn rural areas.
Caution:
Users should not attempt to make sue connectꢀons themselves, but should contact the approprꢀate electrꢀcal ꢀnspectꢀon authorꢀty, or electrꢀcꢀan, as approprꢀate.
Your Cordless Phone ꢀs desꢀgned to operate at the maxꢀmum power allowed by the FCC and IC. Thꢀs means your handset and base unꢀt can communꢀcate only over a certaꢀn dꢀstance – whꢀch wꢀll
depend on the location of the base unit and handset, weather, and the construction and layout of your home or office.
