Battery
1. Open the battery covers located on the rear of your radio by
sliding in the direction shown by the arrows.
2. Insert two LR03 (AAA) size batteries, one in each compartment.
Ensure that batteries are inserted in accordance with the diagram
shown on the rear of your radio.
3. Close the battery cover
4. Batteries should be replaced when the low battery indicator
appears in the display.
5. Battery replacement should be completed within three minutes to
prevent loss of stations stored in memory presets.
6. If the radio is not to be used for an extended period of time it is
recommended that the batteries are removed from the radio.

Lock switch
The Lock switch is used to prevent unintentional operation of your
radio.
1. Set the Lock switch located on the rear of your radio to the ‘Lock’
position . The power and all other buttons will be disabled. This will
prevent accidental operation when your radio is packed in a suitcase
or travel bag .
2. To prevent accidental operation of the controls when your radio is
switched on, set the Lock switch to the up ‘Lock’ position. The
symbol will appear in the display .
3. To release the Lock switch, move the lock switch to the down
‘Unlock’ position. The

Aerials
The lead connecting earphones to your radio acts as an FM aerial
when plugged into the earphone socket. The lead should be extended
as much as possible to increase FM reception. There is a separate
directional aerial built into the radio for MW and LW reception. To
achieve the best MW/LW reception, it may be necessary to rotate the
radio.
Loudspeaker On/Off switch & Earphones
Your radio may be operated using the built in loudspeaker or the
earphones supplied.
1. The built in loudspeaker may be switched on by sliding the Stereo/
Mono/Speaker switch to the ‘Speaker’ position.
2. When switched to FM and using the loudspeaker the enclosed pig
tail aerial or earphones should be inserted into the earphone jack.
3. To operate your radio via earphones, plug the earphones into the
earphone jack and slide the Stereo/Mono/Speaker switch to the
‘Stereo’ position.
Note: Stereo is only available on FM and when using earphones.

Scan tuning
1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Power button .
2. Select the required waveband by pressing the Band button.
3. Press and hold down either the Tuning + or - buttons until the
frequency in the display begins to change rapidly. Release the
button. Your radio will scan the selected waveband and stop
automatically when it finds a station of sufficient strength.
4. Adjust the Volume control to the required setting.
5. Press and hold down either the Tuning + or - buttons for more
than half a second to resume scan tuning. When the waveband
end is reached your radio will continue tuning from the opposite
waveband end.
Manual tuning
1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Power button.
2. Select the required waveband by pressing the Band button.
3. The required station may be selected by repeatedly pressing either
the Tuning + or - buttons.
4. Adjust the Volume control to the required setting.
5. When the waveband end is reached your radio will continue tuning
from the opposite waveband end.

Presetting stations
There are 10 preset memories on each waveband giving a total of 30
preset memories.
1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Power button.
2. Select the required waveband by pressing the Band button .
3. Tune into the required station using one of the tuning methods
previously described.
4. Press the Memo button, M and the preset number will flash.
5. Select the required preset number using the Tuning + or - buttons.
6. Press the Memo button to complete setting of the memory preset
.
7. Repeat the above for the remaining presets.

Recalling a preset station

3. Press the Recall button, the preset number will flash.
4. Select the required preset number using the Tuning + or - buttons.

Mono mode (FM only)
1. If a station being received is weak some hiss may be audible. To
reduce the hiss slide the Stereo/Mono/Speaker switch to the
“Mono“ position. The stereo indicator will be removed from the
display.
Deep Bass Boost switch
1. Pressing the DBB button will enhance bass sounds. The display
will show
. Press the DBB button again to switch off the
DBB function. The
symbol will be removed from the display.
Note: It is recommended for best results that the DBB function is
used only whe listening via earphones.
Auto power off
1. In order to save battery power, your radio is designed to
automatically switch off after 90 minutes of use . This feature can
be disabled by continuing to hold down (2 sec) the Power button
when the radio is first switched on. The Auto power off symbol
will be removed from the display.

TheAuto power off function is reactivated next time radio is switched

Belt clip
A belt clip is provided to enable your radio to be clipped to your belt
or similar item.
1. Remove the rubber plug from the belt clip attachment point.
2. Attach the belt clip to your radio as shown in the diagram.
3. The belt clip can be released by pressing the button as shown.

This radio is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of delivery to the
original owner against failure due to faulty workmanship or component
breakdown, subject to the procedure stated below. Should any component
or part fail during this guarantee period it will be repaired or replaced free of
charge.
