INTRODUCTION  
Your 900 MHz Cordless Telephone is designed to give you flexibility in use  
and high quality perform ance. To get the m ost from your new cordless  
telephone, we suggest that you take a few m inutes right now to read  
through this instruction m anual.  
The following is important information regarding the use of your cordless phone:  
DIGITAL SECURITY SYSTEM  
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to protect against false  
ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your phone line.  
When you place the handset in the base, the unit verifies its security code.  
After a power outage or battery replacem ent, you should place the  
handset in the base for about 20 seconds to reset the code.  
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should  
have at least one phone in your home that is not cordless, in case the power in  
your home goes out.  
INSTALLATION NOTE  
Som e cordless telephones operate at frequencies that m ay cause  
interference to nearby TVs and VCRs. To m inim ize or prevent such  
interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be placed near  
or on top of a TV or VCR. If such interference continues, m ove the cordless  
telephone farther away from the TV or VCR.  
MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS  
You need an RJ 11 type m odular jack, which is the  
m ost com m on type of phone jack and m ight look like  
the one pictured here. If you don’t have a m odular  
jack, call your local phone com pany to find out how to  
get one installed.

INSTALLATION  
1. Make sure that the power supply cord is plugged into the POWER 12V  
DC jack on the base and into an AC outlet.  
2. Plug the telephone line cord into the PHONE LINE jack on the base and  
into a m odular jack.  
3. Slide the base RINGER switch to ON if you want the unit to ring for  
incom ing calls. (The RINGER switch is located on the sam e side of the  
base as the antenna.)  
4. Raise the base antenna.  
NOTE : The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to  
pulse (rotary) dialing, see “Tone/Pulse Dialing. If you don’t know which type  
of service you have, check with the phone company.  
NOTE: For convenience, attach the headset hook to the slots at the back of  
the base. You can rest the headset here when you are not using it.

INSERTING A PAUSE IN THE  
DIALING SEQUENCE  
Press the REDIAL button to insert a delay in  
the dialing sequence of a stored telephone  
num ber when a pause is needed to wait for  
a dial tone (for exam ple after you dial 9 for

CHANGING THE BATTERY  
Follow these steps to change the battery:  
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.  
2. Lift the belt clip up out of the way.  
3. Press and hold the release tab on the  
back of the handset.  
4. Grasp the battery cartridge, pulling it  
down and away from the phone.  
5. Place the drained battery cartridge in the  
recharge cradle.  
6. Insert the charged battery cartridge.  
If you don’t charge the handset batteries  
properly (for 12 hours) w hen you first  
set up the phone and/ or w hen you buy a  
new battery pack, the battery’s long-  
term perform ance w ill be com prom ised.  
NOTE: You can charge the new battery prior  
to installing it by placing the battery in the  
back charging slot of the base unit.

Is the base power cord connected to a working outlet?  
Is the telephone line cord connected to the base unit and  
the wall jack?  
• Disconnect the base from the wall jack and connect another  
phone to the sam e jack. If there is no dial tone in the second  
phone, the problem m ight be your wiring or local service.  
• Is the handset out of the base unit’s range? Move closer to  
the base unit.  
• Make sure the battery is properly charged (12 hours).  
• Is the battery pack installed correctly?  
• If the phone still does not work, disconnect the power cord  
and rem ove the battery pack. Then reconnect the power cord  
and reinstall the battery pack. Place handset in the base for  
10 seconds to allow it to reinitialize.  
•
Replace the battery.  
Dial tone is OK, but  
can’t dial out  
• Make sure the tone/pulse setting is program m ed correctly.  
Handset does not ring  
• Make sure the RINGER switch on the base is turned ON.

• Place handset in base for 10 seconds to reset the phone. If  
that doesn’t work, charge battery for 12 hours.

noises on the line, or that an invalid m essage has been sent  
from the telephone com pany.

INTRODUCCIÓN  
Su Teléfono Inalám brico de 900 MHz está diseñado para darle flexibilidad  
de uso y alta calidad de funcionam iento. Para sacarle el m ayor provecho  
posible a su teléfono inalám brico, le sugerim os que se tom e unos m inutos  
ahora m ism o para leer este m anual de instrucciones.  
La siguiente es información importante para el uso de su teléfono inalámbrico:  
SISTEMA DIGITAL DE SEGURIDAD  
Su teléfono inalám brico usa un sistem a de seguridad digital para evitar el  
tim brado falso, el uso no autorizado y cargos a su línea telefónica.  
Cuando usted coloca el auricular en la base, el aparato verifica su código  
de seguridad. Después de una interrupción de corriente, o de reem plazar  
la batería, usted debe colocar el auricular en la base aproxim adam ente 20  
segundos para re-program ar el código.  
IMPORTANTE: Debido a que los teléfonos inalámbricos operan con  
electricidad, usted debe tener por lo menos un teléfono en su casa que no sea  
inalámbrico, en caso de que haya una interrupción de corriente.  
NOTA PARA LA INSTALACIÓN  
Algunos teléfonos inalám bricos operan a frecuencias que pueden causar  
interferencia con aparatos de televisión y video-caseteras. Para m inim izar  
o elim inar dicha interferencia, la base del teléfono inalám brico no debe  
ser colocada cerca o encim a de una televisión o video-casetera. Si dicha  
interferencia continúa, m ueva el teléfono inalám brico lejos de la televisión  
o video-casetera.  
REQUERIMIENTOS PARA CONTACTO MODULAR  
Usted necesita un contacto tipo m odular RJ 11, que es el tipo  
de contacto m ás com ún y se parece al contacto dibujado a  
continuación. Si usted no tiene un contacto m odular, llam e a  
su com pañía telefónica local para inform arse de qué hacer para instalarlo.

1. Conecte el cable de poder en el contacto de

INSTALACIÓN  
1. Asegúrese de que el cable de corriente esté conectado en el contacto  
m arcado “POWER 12V DC” en la base y en el contacto del cable AC.  
2. Conecte la línea telefónica en el contacto m arcado “TEL LINE” en la  
base del aparato y en el contacto m odular.  
3. Deslice el selector de tim bre (“RINGER”) en la base a la posición de  
encendido (“ON”) si usted quiere que la base tim bre con las llam adas  
que entran (el selectorde tim bre está localizado en el m ism o lado de la  
base que la antena).  
4. J ale la antena de la base.  
NOTA : El teléfono automaticamente se regresa a modalidad de discado por  
tono (touch-tone). Para cambiar a modalidad de discado de pulso (rotatorio),  
vea “Modalidad de discado por Tono/Pulso”. Si usted no sabe qué tipo de  
servicio tiene, cheque con su compañia telefónica.  
NOTA: Para su conveniencia, enganche el auricular en las ranuras de la parte  
posterior de la base. Usted puede entonces descansar el auricular en sitio  
cuando no está en uso.

Cóm o hacer un reclam o de garantía:

Em paque bien la unidad, incluyendo todos los cables, etc., que originalm ente venían con el producto.  
Se recom ienda usar el cartón y m ateriales de em paque originales.

Incluya evidencia de la fecha de com pra, com o el recibo de pago. Tam bién escriba claram ente su nom bre,  
dirección y la descripción del defecto. Mande vía UPS o un servicio de paquetería equivalente a:

Pague cualquier cargo que le facture el Centro de Intercam bio por servicio que no esté cubierto por  
garantía.  
Asegure su paquete contra pérdida o daños. Thom son no acepta responsabilidad en caso de daños o  
pérdida durante el trayecto a Thom son.  
Un aparato nuevo o uno rem ozado se le enviará con los cargos pagados.  
Lo que no cubre la garantía:

Instrucciones al cliente. (Su m anual de propietario le proporciona la inform ación con respecto a las

Hará m ás fácil que hagam os contacto con usted si fuera necesario. No se requiere la devolución de la  
tarjeta para tener la cobertura de la garantía.
