GETTING STARTED  
BATTERIES  
AC POWER ADAPTER  
Batteries are supplied with this product. Replace them  
wheneverthelowbatterysignal( )displays.Removethe  
battery compartment lid on the back of the speakers, and  
insert the batteries.  
An AC power adapter is supplied for use with the main  
unit. It is recommended for use with the Radio. The jack  
is located on the side of the unit.  
NOTE If the AC power becomes unavailable, the unit will  
automatically switch to battery power.  
SWITCH BETWEEN MODES  
Press SELECT. The selected mode will flash. The display  
will stop flashing if no key is pressed within 5 seconds.  
Be sure to match the correct polarity, as shown in the  
battery compartment. Before you close the lid, press the  
RESET button with the point of a blunt object (such as a  
ball point pen).  
CHANGE SETTINGS  
Press and hold SELECT for 2 seconds. Then, press UP  
or DOWN to change each setting. Press SELECT to  
switch between options.

CLOCK

This product can automatically synchronize the date and  
time with official time-keeping organizations in Frankfurt,  
Germany (PS-S03) or Rugby, England (PS-S03U). When  
the unit is within 1500 km (932 miles) of a RF signal, the  
reception icon will blink.  
NOTE For best results, unfold the unit fully (180º angle),  
place it away from metal or electrical objects, and near a  
window with a clear view to the sky.  
RECEPTION  
Reception takes 2 – 10 minutes to complete. Once  
complete, the icon will stop blinking.  
TO DISABLE OR ENABLE  
AUTO-SYNCHRONIZATION  
In Clock Mode, pressDOWN for 2 seconds to disable the  
auto-synchronization. The unit will not respond to radio  
signals until you reactivate the synchronization.  
To enable auto-reception, press UP for 2 seconds.

SET OR CHANGE THE CLOCK  
SET ALARM

Press SELECT to switch to the Clock Mode. The  
time will flash.  
Press and hold SELECT for 2 seconds to enter the  
setting mode.  
Select the 12/24-hour format, hour, and minute.  
Press UP or DOWN to change the setting. Press  
SELECT to confirm.

Press SELECT several times until the Alarm area  
flashes.  
Press and hold SELECT for 2 seconds to enter the  
setting mode.  
Select the hour, minute, and alarm type ( for Beep  
Alarm or  
to change the setting. Press SELECT to confirm.

select the AM/FM band, radio station and volume

Press SELECT again when you are finished.  
ALARM  
When activated, the Beep alarm starts quietly, then  
gradually becomes louder. It shuts off after two minutes.  
The LCD display lights up for the first 8 seconds.  
The Radio alarm turns on the Radio automatically. It will  
turn off after 2 hours.

SNOOZE  
CALENDAR  
SET DATE  
Press the SNOOZE/ LIGHT button the top of the unit to  
temporarily disable the alarm for 8 minutes. The alarm icon  
will blink while Snooze is activated.  
Clock auto-synchronization must be deactivated before  
you manually set the date. ( 7)  
TO TURN THE ALARM OFF OR ON  
Press RADIO to turn the Radio Alarm off. Press any other  
button to turn the Beep Alarm off.

To turn the alarm off completely (deactivate it for the next

ANTENNA  
WEATHER FORECAST  
Theantennawireisonthesideoftheunit. Positiontheunit  
near a window for the best reception.  
This product forecasts the next 12 to 24 hours of weather  
within a 30 to 50 km (19 - 31 mile) radius with 70 to 75  
percent accuracy. The weather forecast is always  
displayed.  
TURN THE RADIO ON OR OFF  
Press the RADIO button.

SWITCH AM/FM BAND  
Press TUNING to enable auto tuning. Press again to

You can listen to PLL digital radio broadcasts with this  
product.  
SELECT STATION  
Press STATION. There are 16 preset channels: 8 for FM  
and 8 for AM.

TUNING  
HEADPHONES  
Press TUNING. Then, press UP or DOWN to scan the  
available frequencies. Press and hold UP or DOWN for  
2 seconds to auto-scan. The scanning will stop when an  
available frequency is found.  
The headphone jack is located on the side of the unit. Use  
headphones for stereo-quality radio listening.  
BACKLIGHT  
Press SNOOZE/LIGHT to illuminate the backlight for 5  
seconds.  
STORE STATION TO MEMORY  
Press STATION for 2 seconds. The assigned number  
(1 – 8) will show in the Radio Area.  
RESET SYSTEM  
The RESET button is located in the battery compartment.  
Press it with the tip of a blunt object (such as a ball point  
pen) whenever you change the batteries, or whenever  
performance is not behaving as expected (e.g., unable to  
establish radio frequency link with automatic clock, etc.)  
This will return all settings to default value (alarm setting,  
etc.).  
SLEEP TIMER  
Press SLEEP. To change the timer length (0 – 120  
minutes in increments of 10) press UP or DOWN. The  
radio automatically turns off when the timer reaches 0. To  
manually turn off the radio, press RADIO.
