WARNING
BEFORE PLUGGING IN THE UNIT FOR THE
FIRST TIME, READ THE FOLLOWING SECTION
CAREFULLY.
AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Make
sure that the voltage in your area meets the voltage
requirements printed on this units rear panel (e.g., AC
230-240 V, 50 Hz).
Blue:
Neutral

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
apparatus may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed
as follows:
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured
black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to
the terminal which is marked with the letter L or
coloured red.
AC Fuse
The fuse is located inside the chassis and is not user-
serviceable. If power does not come on, contact your
Onkyo authorized service station.
Never Touch this Unit with Wet Hands
Never handle this unit or its power cord while your hands
are wet or damp. If water or any other liquid gets inside
this unit, have it checked by your Onkyo authorized
service station.
IMPORTANT
A 5 ampere fuse is fitted in this plug. Should the fuse
need to be replaced, please ensure that the replacement
fuse has a rating of 5 amperes and that it is approved by
ASTA or BSI to BS1362. Check for the ASTA mark or
the BSI mark on the body of the fuse.

Note:
The auto standby function operates on the existence or absence of a constant level input signal. If the auto standby
function does not operate properly, try slightly increasing (or decreasing) the subwoofer output level of the receiver.
Connection
For safety reasons, be sure to unplug the power cord of this unit and turn the power off for all other system components
before connecting or disconnecting any components.
I Connection to receiver
Connect the SKW-150X subwoofer to the SUBWOOFER PREOUT jack on your receiver.
I Power cord
Make sure that all connections other than the power cord for the system have already been made.
Turning on the power for the system may cause a very brief current surge that might affect other devices such as a
computer, if both products are on the same circuit. Connect those devices to another AC outlet.
Adjustment
I Output level
Adjust the SKW-150X output level properly for your listening room and connected speakers.
Note that you may possibly set the subwoofer at high output levels because super bass-range sound is not as audible
as sound in other ranges. To obtain well-balanced frequency characteristics, set the output level to a slightly lower
level than seems optimal (this will also prevent the input of overpowering signals).
Note:
The placement of the SKW-150X can greatly affect the sound that is produced. Under normal circumstances, placement
in the corner of the room provides the best results.

Precaution on use
I Placement
• The enclosure is made of wood and therefore sensitive to extreme temperatures and humidity. Avoid placing the
unit in locations subjected to direct sunlight or in humid places such as near an air conditioner, humidifier, a
bathroom or kitchen. If you do so, damage may occur.
• Keep water and other liquids away from the unit. If water is spilled into the unit, not only the unit but also the
connected receiver may be damaged.
• Place the unit on a level and rigid surface free from vibration.
• This unit is designed to be used in the upright vertical position only. Do not use it in the horizontal or tilted position.
• If the unit is used near a turntable or CD player, howling or skipping of sound may occur. To prevent this, move the
unit away from the turntable or CD player or otherwise lower the unit’s output level.
Note:
Abnormal sound can be produced when bass-range signals are excessively boosted by using the receiver’s tone controls
or a graphic equalizer, or when a source has the bass range abnormally boosted and is played. Rattling occurs when the
signal is beyond the driver’s reproduction capacity. Although it is not a sign of damage, decrease the speaker output
level to prevent damage to the driver.

SKF-103F / SKC-103C / SKM-103S / SKB-103 Speaker system
Connection
Be sure to turn off your receiver before connecting the speaker system. Connecting it while the receiver is on may
result in damage to the receiver or the speaker system.
The speaker cables and speaker terminals are color-coded to facilitate connection. Connect each cable to the
matching-colored terminal.
Be sure to connect the speakers positive (+) and negative () input terminals with the receivers corresponding
positive and negative speaker terminals. Otherwise, undesirable sound field or impaired bass-range reproduction
will result.
Before turning on the receivers power switch, pull lightly on the speaker cables to ensure that they are connected
securely.
Precaution on use
This speaker system can handle the specified input power when it is used for ordinary music reproduction. If the
following abnormal signals are fed to the speaker, however, an overcurrent may flow in the internal circuits, causing
burning or breakage of the wires even if the input power is below the specified rating.
1. Noise produced when FM station is not tuned in
2. Sound produced when fast-forwarding cassette tape deck
3. High-frequency sound generated by an oscillator, an electronic musical instrument, etc.
4. Oscillating receiver signals
5. Special test signals produced by audio checking CD, etc.
6. Sound produced when connecting or disconnecting audio connection cables
(always turn off the receivers power before connecting or disconnecting cables).
7. Howling when a microphone is used
I Placement
SKF-103F Front speakers
Place the front speakers in similar places to the right and left of the listening area. Angle the speakers towards the
listener to enhance the stereo effect. If they are placed in extremely different positions, left and right channel balance
will be adversely affected.
SKC-103C Center speaker
Place the SKC-103C as close as possible to your television set, for example, above or below the television set. Tilt the
speaker upward or downward so that it is directly facing the listener.
Be sure to set the SKC-103C firmly on the television set or other equipment so that it cannot slip and fall. This is
especially important if you have small children.
SKM-103S Surround speakers
Place the surround speakers 1 m above the listeners ear level, either directly to the side of the listening area or else
slightly behind the listening area. Adjust the angles so that these speakers are facing directly towards the listeners.
If the speakers are to be wall-mounted, make sure that the walls are strong enough to support the speakers weight. The
weight that mounting screws can support varies greatly depending on the wall material and the position of the wall studs.
Use the thickest and longest possible mounting screws with mounting screw head diameters less than 6.3 mm and shank
diameters less than 3.5 mm (please consult with your interior designer or contractor).
SKB-103 Surround back speaker
Place the surround back speaker 1 m above the listeners ear level and just at the back of the listener. Adjust the angle so
that this speaker is facing directly towards the listeners.
If the speaker is to be wall-mounted, make sure that the wall is strong enough to support the speakers weight. The
weight that mounting screws can support varies greatly depending on the wall material and the position of the wall studs.
Use the thickest and longest possible mounting screws with mounting screw head diameters less than 6.3 mm and shank
diameters less than 3.5 mm (please consult with your interior designer or contractor).
I Use with a TV set
In general, Braun tubes used for color television sets are extremely sensitive and can be affected even by the magnetism
of the earth. If a speaker system is used near them, discoloration or distortion of pictures will occur. To allow use with
color television sets, etc., the SKF-103F Front speakers and SKC-103C Center speaker are provided with magnetic
shielding. Even so, discoloration may still occur, depending on the installation environment. If discoloration occurs,
turn off the television set, wait 15 to 30 minutes, and then turn it on again. This activates the self-demagnetizing function
of the television set.
If discoloration persists even after performing this remedy, move the speaker further from the television set. Discoloration
may also occur when a magnet or other magnetized object is near the television because of the combined effect.
