Installation
WARNING: To avoid electrical shock hazard to personnel or equipment damage observe the following precautions
when installing telephone equipment:
CAUTION: Users should not attempt to make such connections themselves, but should contact the appropriate electric
inspection authority, or electrician, as appropriate.
1. Never install telephone, LAN or WAN wiring during a lightning storm.
2. Never install telephone, LAN or WAN jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations.
3. Never touch uninsulated telephone, LAN or WAN wires or terminals unless the line has been disconnected at the
network interface.
4. Use caution when installing or modifying telephone, LAN or WAN lines. The exclamation point within an
equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance
(servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product.
5. This product should be installed by a qualified/trained installer.
6. Disconnect the telecommunications network connector before you disconnect the power to this
product.

Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)
The REN provides an indication of the maximum number of terminals allowed to be connected to a telephone
interface. The termination on an interface may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the requirement
that the sum of the RENs of all the devices does not exceed 5.
