PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The illustration shows how a
typical JobSite LSC-8 loudspeaker
mounts into a ceiling.
Ceiling bracket serves as a “hole
saver” when drywall has not been
applied. Cannot be used when
installing into existing ceilings.
Knockout wire tie allows the wire to be
secured to the bracket throughout the new
construction process. It knocks out cleanly
when the speaker is installed.
Wings instantly snap into the
bracket without screws.
Dogs swivel 90°, then
clamp the speaker frame
to the drywall.
Frames are molded with a
slight texture to assure good
paint adhesion.
Wings are scored for easy
size trimming.
Mounting screws tighten the
“dogs”, clamping the speaker to
the drywall.
Brackets and wings attach
to the ceiling joists with nails
or screws.
Rust-proof aluminum grilles make the loudspeaker
perfect for moist environments.

PACKAGE CONTENTS
If you are installing the speakers into a new
ceiling follow the above recommendations and
install a set of JobSite NCB-8 Ceiling Brackets,
prior to the drywall being installed.
■ Speakers x 2
■ Speaker grilles x 2
■ Speaker cutout template / paint mask x 1
Run speaker wire from each location to the
amplifier location. Label the speakers wires at
the amplifier end, so you know which wire goes
to each speaker.
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
If you are installing the LSC-8 into an existing
ceiling, take time to consider any possible
obstructions which may be hidden inside
the ceiling: ceiling joists, electrical wiring,
telephone wiring, plumbing, AC or heating
conduit and ductwork.
TOOLS REQUIRED
■ Stud Locator (for existing construction)
■ Drywall saw (for existing construction)
■ Pencil (for existing construction)
■ Cordless screwdriver with No2 Phillips bit
■ Wire stripper
Determine the best mounting locations based
on the room layout. Before cutting any holes,
make sure the area behind both speakers is
clear for installation. Speakers provide the
best coverage, when centered in the room.
Line up the speakers with a permanently
mounted ceiling fixture such as can lights,
or a light fixture.
■ Wire labels

INSTALLATION
9. Strip 1/4" of insulation from the end of
each wire coming from the amplifier.
Installation Existing
Construction:
10. Tightly twist the end of each wire until no
frayed ends remain.
1. Use a stud locator to identify the location
of the ceiling joists on each side of the
proposed loudspeaker mounting location.
11. Attach the speaker wires to the speaker
terminal connectors. Connect the
negative output from the amplifier to the
black terminal and the positive output to
the red terminal.
2. Mark ceiling joists’ edges, using masking
tape.
3. Repeat this process for the other
loudspeaker locations.
12. There are four clamps “dogs” which
hold each speaker in place. Rotate all
the dogs inward.
4. You may have to adjust the loudspeaker
mounting locations based on how the
ceiling joists line up with the proposed
speaker mounting locations.
13. Insert the loudspeaker into the cutout in
the ceiling.
14. The dogs are tightened via four
front-baffle screws. Tighten the dogs
by turning the screws clockwise,
while pressing the loudspeaker against
the ceiling. NOTE: DO NOT OVER
TIGHTEN THESE SCREWS. Over-
tightening the screws may make the
grille difficult to install.
5. Check for clearance using the following
method:
a. Drill a 1/4" pilot hole in the center of the
intended speaker location.
b. Cut a foot-long piece of coat hanger.
c. Bend the wire, creating a right angle,
leaving 4-1/4" at one end.
15. Install the grille into the speaker.
d. Poke the “L-shaped” wire into the pilot
hole and turn it in a complete circle,
checking for obstructions.
16. Repeat this procedure for the next
speaker.
Installation New Construction:
e. Push it up into the ceiling cavity to
make sure you have approximately
4" of depth.
Install the proper ceiling bracket for this
loudspeaker (NCB-8) using the instructions
supplied with the bracket. After the
hole is cut in the drywall per the bracket
instructions, perform the following steps:
f. If the coat hanger’s movement is
obstructed by anything, fill the hole(s)
with spackle and try another location.
1. Strip 1/4" of insulation from the end of
each wire coming from the amplifier.
6. Locate the hole template and remove
the inside portion of it. The inside portion
can be used as a paint mask, if you are
painting the frame of the loudspeaker.
2. Tightly twist the end of each wire until no
frayed ends remain.
7. Use a pencil and hole template to trace
the hole outline in the desired location on
the ceiling.
3. Attach the speaker wires to the speaker
terminal connectors. Connect the
negative output from the amplifier to the
black terminal and the positive output
from the amplifier to the red terminal.
8. Use a drywall saw to cut along the
penciled line.

speaker using a piece of tape. Fold the tape
onto itself to form a double-sided loop. Affix
the tape to the tweeter and place the mask
onto the speaker.
5. Insert the loudspeaker into the cutout in
the ceiling.
Painting the Grilles:
The LSC-8 grille should be painted before
they are installed on the speakers. The best
results will be obtained by using a spray gun
or airless sprayer. Thin the paint, and then
apply several light coats. This technique
helps prevent clogging of grille holes. Paint
both sides of the grille to cover all the white
paint.
6. The dogs are tightened via four
front-baffle screws. Tighten the dogs
by turning the screws clockwise,
while pressing the loudspeaker against
the ceiling. NOTE: DO NOT OVER
TIGHTEN THESE SCREWS. Over-
tightening the screws may make the grille
difficult to install.
OPERATION
8. Install the grille into the speaker.
Listening at Higher Volumes
9. Repeat this procedure for the next
speaker.
It requires more power to achieve a
reasonable volume of sound in a large room
than it does in a small room. It is possible
to turn the volume so high that the amplifier
runs out of power. This creates “clipping”
distortion.
Directing theTweeter:
The tweeter is directed by gently pushing
on the outside edge of the tweeter grille. It
will move 20° in any direction. For critical
listening, point the tweeter to the user’s
favorite listening position, minimizing
reflections from the side walls. For surround
sound or low volume background listening
create more reflections and thus more
ambience by directing the tweeter towards
the side walls.
Clipping distortion makes treble sound very
harsh and unmusical. When you hear harsh
sounding treble from any good speaker,
turn the volume down immediately! You are
much less likely to damage a speaker with
a large amplifier because it will be more
difficult to produce clipping distortion.
SPECIFICATIONS: LSC-8
Removing the Grilles:
Power handing:
To remove the grille from the LSC-8, obtain a
small paper clip (size #1, common) and bend
the last quarter inch of it into an “L” shape.
Holding the paper clip with a pair of pliers,
insert the end with the “L” into a hole near
the edge of the grille. Remove the grille by
pulling the paper clip towards you.
5 – 100 watts
Frequency response:
55Hz-20kHz +/- 3dB
Impedance:
6 ohms
Dimensions:
10-5/8" outside frame diameter
Painting the Speakers:
9-1/2" diameter hole cutout
The speakers must be masked prior to
painting them. The inside circular portion
of the hole template can be used as a
paint mask. Remove the outside portion
of the template by gently pulling along the
perforation. Affix the mask to the front of the
3-3/4" deep when installed in 1/2" drywall
