A Note on Power Handling
J BL Decade Series speakers are
3-3/8" x 5-11/16"

designed to produce reasonable volum e
levels with little am plifier power.
However, the addition of a subwoofer
and an am plifier will enhance the
dynam ic range of your system and help
overcom e the am bient noise in a m ov-
ing vehicle. These speakers are designed
to handle the power of a dedicated
am plifier driven at or below its rated
power. If an am plifier is driven far above
its rated power, the output signal will
“clip,” and the additional power present
in a clipped signal can dam age the
speakers. Distorted or “fuzzy” sound
from your speakers is an indication that
the am plifier has exceeded its rated
power and you should reduce the
volum e level.
