general safety Rules
wARning! Read all instructions
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in serious injury.
1.
2.
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a Chain saw. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
3.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
Chain Saw. Do not use this product while you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating Chain
Saws may result in serious personal injury.
4.
use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, ANSI approved hard hat, full
face shield, and work gloves should be used for appropriate conditions to
reduce personal injuries.

5.
Move as far away from the cutting area as the Extension Ropes allows. Con-
nect the Handles (1) to the ends of the Extension Ropes. Longer ropes of the
same gauge as the Extension Ropes can be attached to the Chain Saw so that
higher limbs can be cut and/or the user can be a safe distance away from the
limb being cut.
6.
7.
8.
Cut at a 45° angle by pulling the Extension Ropes alternately with each hand.
As the Chain is pulled it will automatically orient itself to cut the limb.
Cutting the bottom of the branch first will prevent the limb from peeling excess
amounts of bark from the tree when the limb falls.
Saw the limb in long, brisk strokes. Use the full length of the Chain Saw to cut
the limb. Do not change position while cutting as this can cause the Chain to
bind. Stay clear of the cutting area for safety.
9.
To cut roots, clear away dirt and debris from around the root, loop the Chain
Saw under the root, connect the Handles, and pull back and forth until the root is
sawed through. Cut the root at a 45° angle, repeat at the other side of the root
to remove it completely.
Caution. Do not put excess pressure on the Chain Saw during this process or, when
the root is cut through, the Saw could fly back toward the operator, possibly
causing personal injury.
10.
Removing branches or roots can be traumatic to the tree and can provide an
entry point for disease and pests. Seek advice from your local lawn and garden
specialist concerning care for the tree after limb removal.
11.
Clean, then store the tool indoors out of children’s reach.
