7. Dress correctly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
They can be caught in moving parts. Rubber gloves and
non-slip footwear are recommended when working outdoors.
If you have long hair, wear a protective hair covering.
General safety instructions
To use this tool properly, you must observe the safety
regulations, the assembly instructions and the operating
instructions to be found in this Manual. All persons who use
and service the machine have to be acquainted with this
Manual and must be informed about its potential hazards.
Children and infirm people must not use this tool. Children
should be supervised at all times if they are in the area in
which the tool is being used. It is also imperative that you
observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your
area. The same applies for general rules of occupational
health and safety.
8. Use safety accessories. Safety glasses and earmuffs
should always be worn. A face or dust mask is also
required if the sanding operation creates dust.
9. Do not abuse the power cord. Never pull the cord to
disconnect the tool from the power point. Keep the cord
away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
10. Secure the work piece. Use clamps or a vice to hold
the work piece. It is safer than using your hand and
frees both hands to operate the tool.
WARNING. When using power tools, basic safety precautions
should always be taken to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock and personal injury. Also, please read and heed the
advice given in the additional important safety instructions.
11. Do not overreach. Keep your footing secure and
balanced at all times.
12. Look after your tools. Keep tools sharp and clean for
better and safer performance. Follow the instructions
regarding lubrication and accessory changes. Inspect tool
cords periodically and, if damaged, have them repaired
by an authorised service facility. Inspect extension cords
periodically and replace them if damaged. Keep tool
handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
1. Keep the work area clean and tidy. Cluttered work
areas and benches invite accidents and injury.
2. Consider the environment in which you are working.
Do not use power tools in damp or wet locations. Keep
the work area well lit. Do not expose power tools to rain.
Do not use power tools in the presence of flammable
liquids or gases.
13. Disconnect idle tools. Switch off the power and
disconnect the plug from the power point before
servicing, when changing accessories and when the
tool is not in use.
3. Keep visitors away from the work area. All visitors and
onlookers, especially children and infirm persons, should
be kept well away from where you are working. Do not
let others in the vicinity make contact with the tool or
extension cord.
14. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Check to see
that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the
tool before switching on.
4. Store tools safely. When not in use, tools should be
locked up out of reach.
15. Avoid unintentional starting. Always check that the
switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the tool
to the power supply. Do not carry a plugged in tool with
your finger on the switch.
5. Do not force the tool. The tool will do the job better and
safer working at the rate for which it was designed.
6. Use the correct tool for the job. Do not force small
tools or attachments to do the job best handled by a
heavier duty tool. Never use a tool for a purpose for
which it was not intended.
16. Use outdoor rated extension cords. When a tool
is used outdoors, use only extension cords that are
intended for outdoor use and are so marked.

• To avoid injury from accidental starting, unplug power cord
before changing or cleaning filter/dust bag or chip bag.
17. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common
sense. Do not operate a power tool when you are tired.
• Do not use without filter/dust bag and/or chip bag in place.
• Turn off controls before unplugging.
18. Check for damaged parts. Before using a tool, check
that there are no damaged parts. If a part is slightly
damaged, carefully determine if it will operate properly
and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of
moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts,
proper mounting and any other conditions that may affect
the operation of the tool. A part that is damaged should
be properly repaired or replaced by an authorised service
facility, unless otherwise indicated in this Instruction
Manual.Defective switches must be replaced by an
authorised service facility. Do not use a tool if the switch
does not turn the tool on and off correctly.
Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
Components
The DC750 dust collector is supplied with the following
components:
19. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact
with grounded objects such as water pipes, radiators,
cookers and refrigerator enclosures.
• Dust collector
• 3m x 100mm diameter hose
• Hose clamps (x2)
• 2 way adaptor
20. Use only approved parts. When servicing, use only
identical replacement parts. Use an authorised service
facility to fit replacement parts.
• Plug for 2 way adaptor

Additional safety rules for dust collectors
When using the dust collection system, follow basic safety
precautions including the following.
• Instruction manual
• Do not vacuum, or use this Dust collection system
near flammable or combustible liquids, gases, gasoline
or other fules, lighter fluid, cleaners, oil-based paints,
natural gas, hydrogen, or explosive dusts like coal dust,
magnesium dust, grain dust, or gun powder.
• Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking, such
as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• To avoid health hazards from vapors or dust, do not
vacuum toxic materials.
• Do not use or store near hazardous materials.
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Put unit on a stable surface.
• Route vacuum hose and electric cord out of traffic areas.

Introduction
Attaching the hose
C
The dust collection system is specifically designed to
capture sawdust and woodchips. NEVER use as a vacuum.
1. Fit the hose clamp (8) over the
end of the hose (7) but do not
tighten the clamp (fig. C).
CAUTION. The dust collector housing features a high
speed fan that can amputate fingers, grab loose clothing
and neckties, or propel dust at high velocities.
2. Fit the hose onto the inlet (2)
(fig. D).
CAUTION. This dust collector does not eliminate the need
to wear a protective dust mask. Always follow the safety
recommendations from the manufacturer or supplier of the
material being cut and collected in the dust collector.

way on and is secure on the
inlet cover.

DO NOT OPERATE WITHOUT ALL PARTS
IN PLACE!
Do not attempt to clean, remove dust bags or service unit
while in operation. Disconnect from the power source.
Attaching the wheels
The wheel castors allow the dust collector to be moved
easily around the work area.
4. Tighten the hose clamp using a flat end screwdriver to
secure the hose on the inlet (fig. E).
1. Place the dust collector on its side.
2. Screw one castor wheel (5) into each corner of the base
(fig. A).
Attaching the 2 way adaptor
The 2 way adaptor (9) allows up to 2 tools to be operated at
the same time.
1. Fit the hose clamp (8) onto the end of the hose (7) but do
not tighten (fig. F).
3. To secure the wheels onto the base tighten the hex nut
on each wheel using a 14mm wrench (fig. B).
Note. When fitting the last castor wheel, screw the wheel in
sufficiently to allow all four wheels to be in contact with the
floor surface.

3. Ensure it is pushed all the way on and is secure on
the hose.
2. Lift the switch to the ON position (I) to turn on and
operate the dust collector (fig. M).
4. Tighten the hose clamp using a flat end screwdriver to
secure the 2 way adaptor onto the hose (fig. H).
3. Push the switch down to the OFF position (0) to turn off
the dust collector (fig. N).
5. When using only 1 tool fit
the cap onto the end of the other hole in the 2 way
adaptor (fig. I).

Operation
1. Fit the hose onto the inlet.
2. If the dust outlet on the power tool is 100mm in diameter
the hose can be connected directly onto the power tool.
Attaching the dust bag
1. Fit the dust bag over the outlet (3) (fig. J).
3. If the power tool has a smaller outlet fit the 2 way adaptor
onto the end of the hose. Connect a smaller diameter
hose (not supplied) onto the adaptor and connect this to
your power tool.
2. Place the dust bag strap through the metal clamp.
3. Pull the strap to secure the dust bag on the outlet cover
(fig. K).
Note. The 2 way adaptor is designed for fine dust ie.
sanding dust. If larger particles are being collected and
blocking occurs remove the cap to draw air into the hose
and increase airflow.

Emptying the dust bag
The dust bag can be emptied either on or off the dust
collector. The bag should be emptied when the dust bag is
approximately half full, performance will deteriorate as the
dust in the dust bag exceeds this level.
Turning on and off
Ensure that the zip is not opened or the dust bag is not
removed from the dust collector until the dust collector
is turned off and the impellor has completely stopped
rotating. Failure to do this can result in dust particles being
distributed in the air.

It is best to place the dust bag into a large garbage bag and
then empty the dust directly into the garbage bag.

Maintenance
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched off and
the plug is removed from the power point before making
and adjustments or maintenance procedures.
Power cord maintenance
If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried
out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s agent, or an
authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.
Cleaning
1. Keep the tool’s air vents unclogged and clean at all times.
2. Remove dust and dirt regularly. Cleaning is best done
with a soft brush or a rag.
3. Re-lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
4. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
CAUTION. Do not use cleaning agents to clean the plastic
parts of the tool. A mild detergent on a damp cloth is
recommended.
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight.
They may vibrate loose over time.
In the event that the dust bag has a hole or the zip becomes
jammed, do not use the dust collector until the bag is
repaired or replaced.
