INSTALLATION
SOLAR4 CID
1 - BATTERY INSTALLATION
Insert 4 batteries AAA, 1.5V (NOT INCLUDED) inside the battery
compartment.
2 - CONNECTING LINE CORDS
- Connect the curly cord to the handset socket.
- Connect the plug at the end of the lead to the telephone socket.
3 - WALL MOUNTING
To keep your handset in vertical position, slide out, turn
around and slide back in the wall mounting handset clip (which can be
found in the base unit, just below where the ear piece locates),this
ensure that the handset stays firmly in position.

SETTING UP
SOLAR4 CID
1 - RINGER HI/LO/OFF
The ringer level switch is located on the underside of the base unit (lift
the base unit to gain access to the switch).Set the switch to ‘OFF’
position if you do not wish the telephone to ring, otherwise leave the
switch in ‘LO’ or ‘HI’ position to adjust the ring level. Outgoing calls
can still be made with the switch set to the ‘OFF’ position.
2 - LANGUAGES SELECT
The unit support 16 languages, including English 1/2, Greek,
Australian, Czech, Slovack, Turkish, Spanish, Nederland, French,
German, Poland, Sweden, Danish, Finland and Norway.
In the state of OFF-HOOK, do as the following steps:
- Press then OK button and hold them.
- Press
- Press
button. The unit enters languages setting.
or button to select the language.
- Press OK button to confirm and exit.
3 - SET TIME
In the state of OFF-HOOK, do as the following steps:
- Press and hold button then

- LCD will displays “SET TIME”. The unit enters the time setting
function.

button to select the correct number.
- Press OK button to confirm and move to the next digit.
- Press button to exit the setting.
Note : When you receive a first call to this unit, time and date will be
automatically set if you have Caller ID service.

SETTING UP

4 - AREAAND LONG DISTANCE CODE SETTING
(Only under “ENGLISH 1” language)
In order to use your call records to dial, the telephone need to
distinguish between local and long distance calls. You need to
program your area code.
In the state of OFF-HOOK, do as the following steps:
- Press and hold button.
- Press
enters the area code & LDS code.
- Press or button to select the correct number.

- When the area code setting has been completed, press OK button,
LCD diplays “SET LDS CODE”. The unit enters long distance code
setting.

Note : If you don’t need to set area code, just set it as “----”by
pressing OK button. Press button after entering “SET LDS
CODE” to ignore the long distance code setting.
5 - CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT
In the state of OFF-HOOK, do as following steps:
- Press and hold OK button then

- Press or button to adjust the contrast.
- Press OK button to comfirm and exit.

USING THE PHONE
SOLAR4 CID
1 - ANSWERING INCOMING CALLS
When an external call is received, the telephone will ring. To take the
call lift the handset to answer the call.
2 - DIALING A NUMBER
Lift the handset, await the dial tone and dial required number. The
number will be shown on the LCD display. On completion of the call,
carefully replace the handset in the cradle.
3 - LAST NUMBER REDIAL
Lift the handset, await the dial tone and press the
button. The
previously dialled number will be AUTOMATICALLY REDIALLED.
4 - RECALL, *&# BUTTONS:
These are used with the new services provided on digital exchanges.
For details please contact your network operator.
5 - MUTE BUTTON
If you wish to speak privately to someone else in the room without
your caller overhearing press the

conversation , press once again the button.

6 - STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS
- Lift the handset.

Note : if you wish to change a number in a memory location, simply
follow the instructions for storing a number. Entering the new number

- Lift the handset and await the dial tone.
- Press appropriate direct memory button M1, M2, M3 or VIP. The
stored number will be dialled out automatically.

RECEIVING CALL
8 - NEW CALL INDICATOR
The red indicator light of your phone will flash when you have new
calls. The light will continue to flash until you review the calls
displayed on the screen.
9 - CALLER IDENTIFICATION
A caller ID record consists of the following information:
Time and Date
of the call
Number of call
records received
Total calls
Caller’s number
Caller’s name

MESSAGES
SOLAR4CID
1 - MESSAGE WAITING
If you have voicemail service from your telephone company and a
recorder message is left, the screen will display message waiting.
“MSG” will then appear in the upper left corner. The icon will remain
until you have retrieved your voice mail and the MESSAGE
WAITING will save as a call.
Note: This function should be supported by your telephone compagny.
2 - TOTAL & NEW CALLS
This shows you the total and new calls to be reviewed. In this
example, you have a total of 10 calls which includes 2 new calls.
3 - NO CALLS
When all calls have been deleted. The display will show “NO CALL”.
4 - PRIVATE
If the caller has exercised the option to prevent his name and number
from being sent, “PRIVATE” will be shown on the LCD screen.

REVIEWING DISPLAY MESSAGES SOLAR4CID
5 - REPEAT CALLS
If a call comes repeatedly, the display will show “REPEAT” icon in
the upper right corner of the LCD.
6 - END OF LIST
This message is displayed when use
or button to reach the
top or end of the call history list. If there are no call, then LCD show
“END OF LIST”.
7 - OUT OF AREA
Will display when someone calls from an area where the telephone
company is not offering the caller identification services or an area that
is not yet providing name and number delivery to your area via the
long distance network.
8 - BATTERY LOW INDICATOR
If there is low battery, the battery low icon will turn on.

CALLER ID SYSTEM OPERATION SOLAR4CID
Subsription to Caller ID service from your local phone
company is required before initial use.
1 - REVIEW YOUR CALL RECORDS
Use
or
button to scroll browse throught the caller list. At the
end of the call record list, you will see the “END OF LIST” message.
Press either or button to continue.
2 - SAVE CALL RECORDS
Save specific calls by deleting old or unnecessary call records.
Note : Your phone stores up to 80 calls records before the memory
becomes full. When the next call comes in, the oldest record
automatically drops off and makes room for the new call record.
3 - DEL BUTTON AND FUNCTION
In the state of off-hook, use
or
button to select the number you
wish to remove, press button, the LCD will show “DEL?” then
press button again to remove this number, press other button to
exit. If press button for about 6 seconds, the LCD will show “ALL
DEL?” then press button to remove all numbers and the LCD will
show “NO CALL”, press other button to exit.
When your Caller ID phone is in use mode, the timer will start after
pressing button, then press button again to stop timer.
4 - USING THE CALL BACK FEATURE
Dial the dialled number, the unit can store up to 30 dialled
numbers.
- In the state of on-hook, press OK button once, then use
or
button to select the number you want to dial out.
- Pick up the handset, then press OK button to dial the phone number
automatically.
Allows you to automatically dial the number of the person who
has called previously.
- Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone.
- Select the caller that you want to call back by pressing
button.
or
- Press OK button to automatically dial the phone number of the caller
shown on the LCD panel.
Note : the call back feature will not dial the phone number if the
selected call record phone number is blocked or it is not available.
If the line is busy, hang up the phone to get a dial tone and then press
OK button again. You may also press
button to dial the last
number dialed.

INSTALLATION

1 - INSTALLATION DES BATTERIES
Placez 4 piles de type AAA1.5V (NON FOURNIES) dans le compar-
timent situé en dessous de la base.
2 - RACCORDEMENTS
- Branchez le combiné et le cordon de ligne.
- Branchez le conjoncteur téléphonique dans la prise téléphonique mu-
rale.
3 - POSITION MURALE
Pour maintenir votre combiné en position verticale, retirez l’ergot situé
sur la base (voir descriptif page précédente) le tourner et le réinsérer.
Percez 2 trous verticaux distant de 80 mm dans votre mur pour y insérer
2 chevilles avec leurs vis. Laissez dépasser les vis de quelques
millimètres.
Faites glisserensuite votretéléphonedansles têtesdevis.

1 - REGLAGE SONNERIE
Un commutateur situé en dessous de la base permet de régler la sonne-
rie.

2 - SELECTION DU LANGUAGE
Vous pouvez choisir vôtre language d’utilisation parmi 16 langues
différentes:Anglais 1/2, Grecque,Australien, Tcheck, Slovack, Turque,
Espagnol, Hollandais, Français,Allemand, Polonais, Suédois, Danois,
Finlandais et Norvégien.
En position RACCROCHEE suivez les instructions suivantes:
- Pressez et maintenez appuyées les touches et OK .
-Appuyez sur la touche
language.
- Appuyez surla touche ou
pour entrer dans le mode de sélection du
pour sélectionner le language désiré.
- Appuyez sur la touche OK pour confirmer et sortir du mode de
sélection du language.
3 - REGLAGE DE LA DATE ET DE L’HEURE
En position RACCROCHEE suivez les instructions suivantes:

- Appuyez sur .Le menu “? HEURE DATE” et affiché sur l’écran.
-Appuyez sur ou pour selectionner votre chiffre.

- Appuyez sur pour sortir du mode “? HEURE DATE”.
Note : Lorsque vous recevrez vôtre premier appel,les paramètres de
réglages seront automatiquement réglés si vous disposez du service
d’identification d’appel de votre opérateur.

4 - APPEL LOCALETAPPEL LONGUE DISTANCE
(Seulement sous langue “ENGLISH1”)
Vous pouvez programmer votre téléphone pour distinguer un appel local
d’un appel longue distance.
En position RACCROCHEE suivez les instructions suivantes:
- Pressez et maintenez appuyée la touche
.
-Appuyez sur .L’écran LCD affiche “SETAREACODE”. Le téléphone
entre dans le mode de programmationAera code & LDS code.
-Appuyez sur
ou pour selectionner numéro désiré.
-Appuyez sur OK passer à l’autre digit.
- Lorsque tous les digits auront étés renseignés, appuyez sur OK,
l’écran LCD affichera “SET LDS CODE” et entre dans le mode de
programmation du code longue distance.
-Appuyez sur ou
pour selectionner le chiffre voulu.
-Appuyez sur OK pour selectionner le prochain digit.
-Appuyez sur pour sortir du mode programme.
Note : Si vous ne désirez pas programmer l’aera code,programmez
le comme suit “- - - -”et appuyez sur OK. Appuyez sur et entrez
ensuite dans le mode “SET LDS CODE” pour ignorer le mode de
programmation du code longue distance.
5 - REGLAGE DU CONTRAST
En position raccrochée suivez les instructions suivantes:
-Appuyez et maintenez la touche OK,appuyez ensuite sur

Lorsque le téléphone sonne, décrochez le combiné pour parler à votre
correspondant.
2 - APPELER
- Décrochez le combiné.
- Composez le numéro de votre correspondant.
- La conversation terminée, raccrochez le combiné pour libérer la ligne.
3 - RAPPEL DU DERNIER NUMERO
- Décrochez le combiné.
-Appuyez sur la touche
, le numéro de votre correspondant se
recompose automatiquement .
4 - TOUCHES «R» *&#
Touche d’accès aux Services de France Télécom.
5 - FONCTION SECRET
Cette touche permet de couper ponctuellement le microphone en cours
de communication.

6 - MEMORISER UN NUMERO DE TELEPHONE

numéro le plus important) pour enregistrer votre numéro en mémoire

Note: Si vous désirez changer de numéro en mémoire,suivez simple-
ment les instructions pour mémoriser un numéro en mémoire.Le le nou-
veau numéro entré effacera le précédent numéro.
7 - APPEL D’UN NUMERO EN MEMOIRE
- Décrochez le combiné.
-Appuyez sur une des touches M1, M2, M3 ou VIP, le numéro
en mémoire directe se recompose automatiquement.

8 - TEMOIN NOUVEAUX APPELS
Le témoin lumineux de votre téléphone clignotera dès reception d’un
nouvel appel.Il clignotera tant que vous n’avez pas pris connaissance
des appels affichés sur l’écran.
9 - IDENTIFICATION D’APPEL
L’identification d’appel consiste à donner les informations suivantes:
Heure et date
de l’appel
Numéro d’appel
reçus enregistrés
Total appels
Numéro d’appelant
Nom de l’appelant

MESSAGES

1 - MESSAGE EN ATTENTE
Si vous disposez d’un service de messagerie vocale délivrée par
votre opérateur, l’afficheur LCD indiquera message en attente. L’icone
“MSG” apparaîtra dans le coin en haut à gauche sur votre afficheur
LCD . L’icone “MSG” restera présent jusqu’à ce que vous rappatriez
vos message et le MESSAGE EN ATTENTE sera enregistré comme
un appel .
Note: Cette fonction doit être délivrée par un opérateur.
2 - TOTAL & ET NOUVEAUX APPELS
Le dessin ci-dessous montre le nombre total d’appels qui peuvent être
consultés. Dans cet exemple,vous avez un total de 10 appels qui
incluent 2 nouveaux appels.
3 - PAS D’APPEL
Lorsque les appels sont tous détruits, l’afficheur affiche
“PAS D’APPEL”.
4 - APPEL PRIVE
Si l’appelant ne désire pas que son nom et son numéro de téléphone
figure sur l’afficheur , “PRIVE” sera affiché sur l’écran LCD.

5 - APPELS REPETITIFS
Si un appel revient régulièrement ,l’afficheur LCD indiquera
“REPEAT” dans le haut à droite de l’afficheur.
6 - FIN DE LISTE
Ce message est affiché lors de l’utilisation des touches
ou
pour atteindre le début ou la fin de l’historique des appels.S’il n’y a
pas d’appel, l’afficheur LCD indiquera “FIN DE LISTE”.
7 - APPELS HORS ZONE
“APPEL HORS ZONE” sera affiché sur l’écran LCD lorsque
l’opérateur n’offre pas le service d’identification d’appel ou lorsque le
service n’est pas encore délivré dans une zone longue distance.
8 - INDICATEUR PILE FAIBLES
Si les piles sont déchargées,l’ icone piles faibles sera activé.

La souscription d’un abonnement au services d’identification
d’appel est requise pour l’utilisation des fonctions suivantes:
1 - VISUALISATION D’APPELS ENREGISTRES
Appuyez sur
ou
pour entrer dans la liste des appels entrants.
A la fin de la liste, le message “FIN DE LISTE” sera affiché.
Appuyez de nouveau sur ou pour vous déplacer dans la liste.
2 - ENREGISTREMENT D’APPEL
Enregistre les appels en détruisant les anciens appels ou appels non
nécessaires .
Note : Votre téléphone peut stocker jusqu’à 80 appels avant que la
mémoire ne soit remplie. Lorsqu’un appel arrive, l’enregistrement le plus
ancien est automatiquement détruit et remplacé par le nouvel appel.
3 - TOUCHE D’EFFACEMENT
En mode raccroché, appuyez sur
ou
pour sélectionner le
numéro que vous désirez détruire, appuyez sur , l’écran LCD affiche
“EFFACER?” appuyez de nouveau sur pour confirmer la destruction
du numéro,Appuyez sur n’importe quelle touche pour sortir du mode
d’éffacement. Si vous appuyez sur plus de 6 secondes, l’écran LCD
affichera “TOUT EFFACER?” appuyez sur pour tout effacer les
numéros en mémoire,l’écran LCD affichera “PAS D’APPEL”, appuyez
sur n’importe quelle touche pour sortir.
Lorsque la fonction identification d’appelant est active,le compteur se met
après appui sur bouton, appuyez de nouveau sur pour stopper le
compteur.
4 - FONCTIONS RAPPELS DE NUMEROS
Composer un numéro mémorisé: votre téléphone peut mémoriser
jusqu’à 30 numéros que vous avez déjà composés.
- En mode raccroché, appuyez sur OK, ensuite appuyez sur
ou
pour sélectionner le numéro à composer.
- Décrochez le combiné et appuyez sur OK pour composer
automatiquement le numéro sélectioné.
Composer automatiquement le numéro de la liste.
- Décrochez le combiné et attendez la tonalité.
- Sélectionnez le nom désiré en appuyant sur
ou
.
-Appuyez sur OK pour composer automatiquement le numéro sélectioné
sur l’écran LCD.

Note : Les fonctions de rappels du derniers numéros ne fonctionnera
pas si le numéro sélectioné est bloqué ou invalide.Si la ligne est
occupée,décrochez le combiné pour obtenir la tonalité et appuyez ensuite
sur OK. Vous pouvez aussi appuyer sur la touche
recomposer le dernier numéro (BIS).
