REPLACEMENT PARTS   When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement parts specified by   the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the original part. All Manuals Search And Download.   INSTALLATION   Unravel the AC cord and connect it to a conveniently   located AC outlet having 120V and 60Hz only. The Clock   Display will illuminate and "12:00" will appear in the   window.   NOTE: If the AC plug does not fit into a nonpolarized   outlet, do not file or cut the wide blade. it is the user's   responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete   outlet.   AC Outlet   AC Plug   If the AC cord is disconnected or if there is a power   failure, this electronic clock is designed to continue operating internally (without showing   the time on the Clock Display) with a 9 volt battery (not included). To install the battery,   press and lift open the compartment cover. Connect the battery to the terminals of the   battery snap inside the compartment (use of an alkaline battery is recommended) and   snap the battery comaprtment cover back into place.   Be sure to check the condition of the battery periodically by   disconnecting the AC cord and connecting it again two or three   minutes later. The preset times should continue operating. If   the present time does not appear, it indicates the battery is   dead or not connected properly. The 9 volt battery will keep the   internal times accurately for approximately 30 minutes. If the   power is restored after 30 minutes, the times may need to be   reset.   BATTERY PRECAUTIONS   Follow these precautions when using a battery in this device:   1. Use only the size and type of battery specified.   2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the   battery compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.   3. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the battery to   prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.   4. All Manuals Search And Download.   CD OPERATION   TO PLAY A CD   1 2 Slide the AUTO/OFF/ON switch to the   ON position to turn the unit on; the   POWER indicator will light.   Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CD   position.   3 4 To play a disc from the beginning, press   the PLAY/PAUSE ( / ) button; the   PLAY/RAND indicator will light. Press   the PLAY/PAUSE ( / ) button again to   pause playback; the PLAY/RAND   indicator will blink. Press the   Open the CD compartment door by   pressing the OPEN/CLOSE area. Insert   a disc, label side up, onto the spindle   and close the CD compartment door.   PLAY/PAUSE (   / ) button once again   to continue playback.   5 6 When the disc is through playing, it will   stop rotating. Press   and hold the Skip Up 1 or Skip Down   2 2 button to quickly search for a   musical passage.   RANDOM PLAYBACK   NOTES:   1 1 • If a disc is inserted incorrectly, dirty or   damaged, it will not play.   • To prevent damage to the disc, never   open the CD door while the disc is   rotating. Wait for the disc to stop before   opening the CD door. Never touch the   lens when the CD door is open.   • The CD player should only be used on   a steady surface.   To randomly playback the tracks on a   CD, press the RANDOM button 1; the   CD will automatically start playing and   the PLAY/RAND indicator will blink with   different patterns. TO CANCEL, press   the RANDOM button 1 once again; the   PLAY/RANDOM indicator will light.   TO REPEATEDLY PLAY BACK ONE TRACK/ALL TRACKS   1 2 1 1 2 3 2 4 To repeat all of the tracks on a disc   continuously, press the REAPEAT button   1 twice; the REPEAT indicator will light.   To repeat a single track, press the   REPEAT button 1 once; the REPEAT   indicator will blink. Press the   PLAY/PAUSE ( / ) button 4 to begin   playback. Press the Skip Up 2 or Skip   Press the PLAY/PAUSE (   / ) button 2   to begin playback. When   setting the hours, make sure the PM   indicator is lit if it is PM and not lit if it is   AM. Slide   the FUNCTION switch (other side of   unit) to the AM or FM ST. position as   desired. With the power off, when the   actual time matches the selected preset   alarm time(s), the radio automatically   turns on for 120 minutes and then shuts   off. To shut off the alarm, see TO SHUT   ALARM OFF section on the next page.   TO SET THE ALARM TO WAKE TO CD   2 1 2 2 1 1 Set the alarm time as previously   instructed. Slide the FUNCTION switch   1 to the CD position, insect a CD and   make sure the VOLUME control 2 is set   as desired.   Slide the AUTO/OFF/ON 1 switch to the   AUTO position and the BUZZER/MUSIC   switch 2 to the MUSIC position. Slide   the FUNCTION switch (other side of   unit) to the CD position as desired. With   the power off, when the actual time   matches the selected preset alarm   time(s), the CD automatically turns on for   120 minutes and then shuts off. Slide the BUZZER/MUSIC   switch to the BUZZER position.   Slide the AUTO/OFF/ON 1 switch to the   AUTO position and the BUZZER/MUSIC   switch 2 to the BUZZER position. With   the power off, when the actual time   matches the selected preset alarm   time(s), the buzzer automatically turns   on for 60 minutes and then shuts off. To   shut off the alarm, see TO SHUT ALARM   OFF section below.   TO SHUT ALARM OFF   SNOOZE   1 1 To shut the alarm off, slide the   AUTO/OFF/ON switch to the OFF   position.   The alarm can be temporarily turned off   manually by pressing the SNOOZE   button; the alarm will turn back on   automatically nine minutes later. All Manuals Search And Download.   CARE AND MAINTENANCE   Caring for Compact Discs   • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only   by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come   in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the   disc.   • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to   the disc label.   • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents   or abrasive cleaners to clean the disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.   • If a disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the disc, it is probably dirty or dam-   aged (scratched).   • When cleaning the disc, wipe in straight lines from the center of the disc to the   outer edge of the disc. Never wipe in circular motions.   Z • This unit is designed to play only discs bearing the identification   logo as shown here. Other discs may not conform to the CD stan-   dard and may not play properly.   • Discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid dam-   age.   • Do not expose discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures, or   dust, etc. Prolonged exposure or extreme temperatures can warp the disc.   • Do not stick or write anything on either side of the disc. Sharp writing instru-   ments or the ink may damage the surface.   Cleaning the Unit   • To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source   when cleaning.   • The finish on your unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other   furniture.
