This appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature this plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does
not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
USER
MAINTENANCE
Your styling iron is virtually maintenance-
free. No lubrication is needed. If cleaning
becomes necessary, disconnect the unit
from the power source and wipe exterior
with a damp cloth. If any abnormal condition
occurs, unplug the unit, allow it to cool, and
return it for repair to place of purchase or
an authorized service representative only.
No repairs should be attempted by the
consumer.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never
wrap the cord tightly around the iron.
Damage will occur at the high flex
point of entry into the iron, causing it to
rupture and short. Inspect the cord
frequently for damage. Stop use immediately
if damage is visible or unit stops or
operates intermittently.
STORAGE
When not in use, your iron is easy to store.
Allow unit to cool, then simply put back in
the box and store out of reach of children in
a safe, dry location. Do not jerk or strain cord
at plug connections.

D’UTILISATION
Cet appareil redresseur n’est prévu que pour
l’usage ménager. Ne le brancher que dans
une prise de courant alternatif (50/60 Hz). Les
appareils à friser ordinaires s’alimentent
d’un secteur 110 à 125 volts CA.
L’appareil est doté d’une fiche polarisée (une
lame est plus large que l’autre). Par mesure
de sécurité, cette fiche ne convient que d’une
façon dans une prise polarisée. Si la fiche ne
s’enfonce pas complètement, inversez-la. Si
elle ne convient toujours pas, consultez un
maître électricien. Ne tentez pas de contrer
cette mesure de sécurité.
ENTRETIEN PAR
L’UTILISATEUR
Le fer à friser ne demande pratiquement
aucun entretien. Aucune lubrification
n’est requise. Si vous devez le nettoyer,
déconnectez-le et essuyez-en la surface
extérieure avec un linge humide. Si une
condition anormale survient, laissez-le
refroidir puis faites-le réparer à l’endroit où
vous l’avez acheté ou à un service après-
vente agréé. Le consommateur ne devrait
pas tenter de le réparer lui-même.

MISE EN GARDE
JAMAIS faut-il tirer, tordre ou plier forte-
ment le cordon électrique. N’enroulez
jamais le cordon serré autour du fer. Vous
risqueriez de l’abîmer au point de flexion au
niveau du manche, causant une rupture ou un
court-circuit. Vérifiez régulièrement l’état du
cordon. Cessez d’utiliser l’appareil dès que
vous décelez un dommage ou si l’appareil
s’arrête ou fonctionne par intermittence.
RANGEMENT
Il est facile de ranger le fer quand vous ne
l’utilisez pas. Laissez-le refroidir remettez-
le dans sa boîte puis rangez-le hors de la
portée des enfants. Ne tirez ni tendez le
cordon au niveau de la fiche.
Le fer Shiny StraightMD est un nouvel outil qui,
par simple réglage d’un bouton, se transforme
en redresseur ou redresseur velouté. Vous
pouvez désormais créer toutes sortes de coif-
fures en vogue. Outre le fait que vous paraîtrez
bien, le fer à redresser peut servir à donner
corps à votre chevelure, alors que le
redresseur velouté les rendra lisses et lustrés.
DIRECTIVES GÉNÉRALES
Avant d’utiliser le fer Shiny StraightMD :
1. Connectez l’appareil et laissez-le en posi-
tion fermée pour qu’il chauffe plus vite
(gardez-le toujours fermé quand vous ne
l’utilisez pas).
2. Le fer Shiny StraightMD est chaud en 6 à 7
minutes. Réglez le bouton à la position
voulue.

Shiny Straight™ iron is a new styling tool
which, with just a flick of a switch, transforms
into a straightener or a flocked straightener.
Now, you have the ability to create all types
of professional styling effects. Apart from
stunning new looks, you will find that a
straightener can be used for giving hair body,
and a flocked straightener is useful for
shaping and smoothing.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Before using Shiny Straight™ iron:
1. Plug in, leaving unit in the closed position
for fast heat up (It is best to always leave
closed when not in use).
2. After 6-7 minutes, Shiny Straight™ iron is
ready to use. Switch to the setting you desire.
3. Use Shiny Straight™ iron on dry hair.
You can use mousse, gel and other hair
preparations before or after using Shiny
Straight™ to achieve the look you desire.
4. You should only switch plates with Shiny
Straight™ iron in the closed position.
To switch plates, close the handles firmly and
slide the converter switch to the desired
straightening setting (See diagram 1).
5. You may wish to remove the center plate
for cleaning. If so, proceed as follows: Open
the appliance on the flocked setting and hold
it with the switch facing you. Depress (with
finger or thumbnail) the spring retainer on the
switch, slide the switch to the straightener
position, and lift out.

TO REASSEMBLE:
1. Open with the straightener plate facing you.
2. Hold the center plate flocked side up, and
the switch in the straightener position
(furthest from the plate).
3. Place the center plate back in the appliance,
lining up the two straightener plates.
4. Pressing the switch against the handle,
slide it back to the flocked position, so that the
spring retainer clicks back into place.
STYLING WITH Shiny Straight™ IRON
The straightener is designed to smooth
unwanted curl or frizz, to shape and
straighten your hair in the latest stunning
styles. Flocked plates add shine to the hair.
STRAIGHTENING TECHNIQUES
1) Use the straightener on dry hair taking
small sections of hair at a time.
2) Pull the hair downward and hold taut.
3)Starting at the root, run the straightener
down the hair in one smooth movement.
Keep the strands of hair smooth while you
work to avoid ridges.

3. Utilisez le fer Shiny StraightMD sur les
cheveux secs. Vous pouvez utiliser une
mousse, un gel ou un autre produit de coif-
fure avant ou après avoir utilisé le fer Shiny

4. Vous ne devriez changer les plaques que
lorsque le fer Shiny StraightMD est fermé. Pour
ce faire, refermez les poignées fermement
et glissez le bouton à la position voulue (voir
l’illustration 1).
5. Vous pouvez enlever la plaque centrale
pour le nettoyage. Pour ce faire, ouvrez l’ap-
pareil avec les plaques veloutées puis tenez-
le, le bouton vers vous. Appuyez (avec le
doigt ou le pouce) sur la retenue à ressort,
poussez le bouton en position redresseur et
sortez la plaque.
POUR RÉASSEMBLER :
1. Ouvrez l’appareil, la plaque face à vous.
2. Tenez la plaque centrale, côté velouté vers
le haut, et placez le bouton en position
redresseur (le plus loin de la plaque).
3. Insérez la plaque centrale dans l’appareil,
l’alignant avec les deux autres plaques.
4. Appuyez sur le bouton et ramenez-le en
position velouté pour que la retenue à ressort
se réenclenche.
COIFFURE AVEC LE FER Shiny StraightMD
Le redresseur est conçu pour lisser les
cheveux frisés ou frisottés, pour donner
forme et redresser les cheveux pour réaliser
les coiffures les plus en vogue. Les plaques
veloutées ajoutent du lustre à la chevelure.

TECHNIQUES DE REDRESSEMENT
1) Utilisez le redresseur sur les cheveux
secs, lissant une petite section à la fois.
2) Tirez les cheveux vers les extrémités et
tenez-les serrés.
3) En partant de la racine, faites glisser le
redresseur sur les cheveux en un mouve-
ment doux et continu. Gardez les couettes
lisses pour éviter les ondulations.
CONSEILS POUR LA COIFFURE
Pour des cheveux à pointes courtes, utilisez
un gel ou un aérosol et tenez les sections
soulevées, loin de la tête pendant que vous
redressez.
Pour adoucir et contrôler des cheveux
frisés ou pour une coiffure polie, n’utilisez
le redresseur que sur la pointe, laissant les
cheveux ondulés à la racine pour les
soulever et leur donner du corps.
Pour une texture « hachurée », commencez
pas une bonne coupe de cheveux profes-
sionnelle. Ensuite, utilisez un gel ou
aérosol, prenez une poignée de cheveux et
tenez-la loin de la tête tout en redressant.

STYLING TIPS
For short spike looks, use gel or spray and
hold the sections up and away from the
head while you straighten.
For smoothing and taming curly hair, or
creating a stylish bob, use the straightener
just on the ends, leaving the hair wavy at
the roots for lift and body.
To achieve the textured “chopped” look,
you need a good professional haircut; then
using gel or spray, take chunky sections of
hair and hold the hair away from the head
as you straighten.
