chef’s fork operaTion  
INSertING tHe BatterIeS  
1  Loosen the screw and remove the BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER  
2  Insert four AAA batteries (not included) according to polarity indicators inside  
the compartment  
3  Replace the BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER and tighten the screw

USING tHe CHeF’S FOrk  
1  Remove protective covers from TEMPERATURE PROBES  
2  Press SELECT to turn the unit on  
3  Press SELECT repeatedly until your desired entrée illuminates: Beef,  
Chicken, Hamburger, Pork, Fish, Turkey, Veal, Lamb or Baked Potato  
4  Insert the TEMPERATURE PROBES into the center of the thickest portion  
of your entrée  
5  Hold the unit in position for 6-10 seconds for an accurate measurement  
Notes:  
ensure the temPeratUre PrOBeS are inserted at least 1/2" deep into  
the meat to give a more accurate temperature readout. avoid touching  
bone or heavy fat areas. Do not leave temPeratUre PrOBeS inserted  
when the entrée is cooking.  
the unit turns off automatically after two minutes of inactivity.  
• When powered on, the unit defaults to the entrée selected the last time  
the unit was used.  
the color-changing leD alerts you to your food's progress.  
Green: Just Started; Blue: medium rare; Purple: medium; red: Well Done/  
Done; and Flashing red: Over Cooked.

vIeWING tHe temPeratUre IN FaHreNHeIt Or CelSIUS  
Press °C/°F (inside the battery compartment) to view the temperature in Celsius  
Press °C/°F again to view the temperature in Fahrenheit  
Note: the color-changing backlight alert is based on temperatures in  
Fahrenheit. the alert may vary slightly when using Celsius.  
reSettING tHe UNIt  
Reset the unit if it is not working properly by inserting a small, pointed  
object into RESET (inside the battery compartment)

Brookstone® warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship  
under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the  
original purchaser (“Warranty Period”)  If a defect arises and a valid claim is received  
within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect  
at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product  
with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or  
3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product  
A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance  
with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the  
original product  When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes  
your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone’s property  When a store  
credit is given, the original product must be returned to Brookstone and becomes  
Brookstone’s property

at 1-800-292-9819  Please be prepared to describe the product that needs service  
and the nature of the problem  A purchase receipt is required  All repairs and  
replacements must be authorized in advance  Service options, parts availability and  
response times will vary  You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of  
the product or any parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our  
instructions
