LAMINATOR  
OPERATING PROCEDURES  
Do not immerse in water. If the supply cord is damaged, it  
must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or  
a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.  
The QuikFinish laminator has HOT and COLD laminating and  
FOIL functions. The PL100 is designed for documents up to 9.5  
inches wide. The PL150 laminator is designed for larger  
documents up to 14.5 inches wide. This unit also includes a 1.5  
hour AUTO-SHUTOFF function.  
Be sure that the machine is placed on a flat surface. Plug the  
power cord into a grounded AC outlet. To use your laminator  
follow these directions:

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS  
1. Push the switch to COLD position. The RED LIGHT will  
illuminate, and the unit is ready to cold laminate.  
2. Prepare the item to COLD laminate according to  
instructions for cold laminate pouch.  
3. Feed document to be COLD laminated into front of the  
unit. It will be pulled into the laminator. Banner American  
suggests using the pouch carrier.

are important safety instructions. PLEASE READ ALL SAFETY  
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING.

To Hot Laminate:  
CAUTIONS  
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT:  
Before using your laminator, be sure to observe the  
1. Push the switch to Laminate (HOT) position. After  
approximately 5 minutes, the unit will be warmed up and  
the GREEN READY light will illuminate. You may now  
begin to laminate your documents. Note: If you switch  
from FOIL to HOT (LAMINATE) position, make sure to wait  
at least 15 minutes before laminating.  
2. Open up a laminating pouch. Insert the desired document  
into the pouch, then place the pouch inside the pouch  
carrier securely against the fold.  
following precautions:  
1. Temperature adjustment is only available in the HOT  
lamination mode. It is not avaialbe in COLD or FOIL mode.  
2. Once, the green laminate LED illuminate in the HOT  
lamination mode, it will not distinguish even if adjust the  
temperature adjustment to a different temperature setting  
unless you switch to the OFF position.  
3. To change the laminating temperature, adjust the  
temperature knob to desired temperature. Once you have  
selected desired temperature, please wit for 2-3 minutes  
before laminating.

surfaces. Wait for unit to cool before  
moving or cleaning.

until the laminator starts to feed automatically.

4. Remove the pouch carrier from the laminator after it has  
finished laminating. Leave the laminating pouch inside the  
carrier for several seconds to cool before removing.  
4. Not all pouches can be used at the same temperature for  
different thickness pouches. Please note that these settings  
are SUGGESTIONS ONLY. You may need to test your  
pouches under different temperatues to reach satisfactory  
results.  
3. The use of other attachments is not  
recommended by the manufacturer in  
conjunction with the product. Use of other  
attachments may cause injury.

To Hot Foil Laminate:  
1. Push the switch to FOIL position. After approximately 5  
minutes, the GREEN READY light will illuminate, and the  
unit is ready to perform hot foil lamination.  
2. Lay the foil paper on the desired document accordingly.  
Place the items securely inside the pouch carrier.  
3. Insert the pouch carrier as shown into the laminator until  
the laminator starts to feed automatically.  
4. Remove the pouch carrier from the laminator after it has  
finished laminating. Remove the foil from the document  
accordingly.

To Turn Off the Laminator:  
6. Always unplug the unit when not in use  
to prevent accidents. The electrical outlet  
should be installed near the equipment  
and should be easily accessible.  
Push the switch to OFF position when you are finished  
laminating.  
AUTO-SHUTOFF TIME:  
This unit will automatically shut-off after approximately 1.5  
hours. to re-start the laminator, slide the switch to OFF  
position for at least 5 seconds, then slide the switch to COLD,  
LAMINATE or FOIL positon. the unit will start to work again.  
7. Do not operate with a damaged power  
supply cord.  
CARE AND CLEANING

8. Keep loose clothing, fingers, hair, jewelry  
and other foreign objects away from  
laminating slot.  
Always unplug the laminator from electrical outlet before  
cleaning. Clean the outside of the laminator with a damp  
cloth only. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzene or  
thinner.
