LIMITED WARRANTY STATEMENT  
2. WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES  
NOT COVER :

the product in other than its normal and  
customary manner.  
1. WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS :  
LG offers you a limited warranty that the  
enclosed subscriber unit and its enclosed  
accessories will be free from defects in  
material and workmanship, according to the  
following terms and conditions:  
2. Defects or damages from abnormal use,  
abnormal conditions, improper storage,  
exposure to moisture or dampness,  
unauthorized modifications, unauthorized  
connections, unauthorized repair, misuse,  
neglect, abuse, accident, alteration,  
improper installation, or other acts which  
are not the fault of LG, including damage  
caused by shipping, blown fuses, spills of  
food or liquid.  
1. The limited warranty for the product extends  
for TWELVE (12) MONTHS beginning on the  
date of purchase of the product with valid  
proof of purchase, or absent valid proof of  
purchase, FIFTEEN (15) MONTHS from date  
of manufacture as determined by the unit’s  
manufacture date code.  
2. The limited warranty extends only to the  
original purchaser of the product and is not  
assignable or transferable to any subsequent  
purchaser/end user.  
3. Breakage or damage to antennas unless  
caused directly by defects in material or  
workmanship.  
3. This warranty is good only to the original  
purchaser of the product during the warranty  
period as long as it is in the U.S, including  
Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories and Canada.  
4. That the Customer Service Department at  
LG was not notified by consumer of the  
alleged defect or malfunction of the  
product during the applicable limited  
warranty period.  
4. The external housing and cosmetic parts  
shall be free of defects at the time of  
shipment and, therefore, shall not be covered  
under these limited warranty terms.  
5. Products which have had the serial  
number removed or made illegible.  
5. Upon request from LG, the consumer must  
provide information to reasonably prove the  
date of purchase.  
6. This limited warranty is in lieu of all other  
warranties, express or implied either in  
fact or by operations of law, statutory or  
otherwise, including, but not limited to any  
implied warranty of marketability or fitness  
for a particular use.  
6. The customer shall bear the cost of shipping  
the product to the Customer Service  
Department of LG. LG shall bear the cost of  
shipping the product back to the consumer  
after the completion of service under this  
limited warranty.  
7. Damage resulting from use of non-LG  
approved accessories.  
8. All plastic surfaces and all other externally  
exposed parts that are scratched or  
PRODUCT OR FOR ANY BREACH OF ANY  
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY,  
INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF  
MARKETABILITY APPLICABLE TO THIS  
PRODUCT.

re-install or back-up any data,

Be careful when using your phone near

microwave oven as this will cause the battery

user guide could void your warranty for this

Never store your phone in settings that may  
expose it to temperatures less than 32°F or  
greater than 104°F, such as outside during  
extreme weather conditions or in your car on a

Unplug the power cord and charger during  
lightning storms to avoid electric shock or

phone or set up the hands-free kit near to  
the air bag. If wireless equipment is  
improperly installed and the air bag is

keypad has more than one letter. The T9 mode  
automatically compares your keystrokes with  
an internal linguistic dictionary to determine  
the correct word, thus requiring far fewer  
keystrokes than the traditional ABC mode.

Welcome to PTT

Push to Talk (PTT) from AT&T lets you see  
whether your family, friends, and co-workers  
are available to talk before you call. You can  
reach them individually or all at once via a  
group call, all in an instant. Read on to hear  
about all of the features AT&T Push to Talk has  
to offer.  
4. PTT calls can be easily started with the flip  
closed. During a PTT call with the flip open  
and speaker OFF, the call will be terminated  
when the flip is closed. When the speaker is  
ON, closing the flip will not terminate the  
call.

your PTT calls.  
Begin initializing your PTT service by pressing

groups you have established in your PTT  
Contacts. See PTT Contacts for instructions to

3. If your status is Vibrate All your phone will  
vibrate and then you must accept or reject  
the call. If set to Silent their will be no call  
notification tone.

Convert to Cellular  
How a PTT call works  
During a PTT call the call originator may  
convert the call over to a cellular call.  
When you make a PTT call, you can instantly  
speak to other AT&T PTT subscribers. During a  
PTT call only one person can speak at a time.  
You can tell whether it is your turn to speak by  
listening for the following tones:  
1. Call originator selects Options and then  
selects Convert to Cellular. The originator no  
longer has to press the PTT key to be heard.  
2. Other participants on the call will remain in  
PTT Floor Held tone  
a PTT call until they press the PTT Key.  
This tone plays when you press and hold the  
PTT Key. It indicates you have the floor and  
your speech will be heard by the other call  
participants.  
Call Waiting  
• While on a PTT call you will be notified of  
incoming PTT calls. Accepting the incoming  
PTT call suspends the first call. Rejecting  
the incoming PTT call terminates it.  
PTT Floor Release tone  
When you let go of the PTT Key you will hear  
this tone as will the other participants on the  
call. All of your speech prior to this tone has  
been heard by other participants. Others on the  
call are now aware that the floor is open and  
they have an opportunity to speak by pressing  
their PTT Key.  
• While on a PTT call you will be notified of  
incoming cellular calls. Accepting the  
incoming cellular call suspends the PTT  
call. Rejecting the incoming cellular call  
forwards it to voicemail.  
• While on a cellular call you will be notified  
of incoming PTT calls. Accepting the  
incoming PTT call suspends the cellular  
call. Rejecting the incoming PTT call  
terminates it.  
Error tone  
If you attempt to speak by pressing your PTT  
Key and someone else still has the floor you  
will hear this tone.

Quick Group call.  
To make a call press and release your PTT key  
to display your contacts. Select the person or  
group you wish to connect with and Press and  
Hold the PTT Key.

Call Me Alert: This option allows you to  
send a message to an individual in your PTT  
Contacts whose status is Available,  
Silent/Vibrate, or Do Not Disturb. First select  
the individual, select Options, and then  
select Call Me Alert. A message will display  
on their idle screen "Please Call" and your  
name. They can simply press their PTT Key to  
call you back.  
Customers should not initiate or participate in a  
PTT call while driving. The current version of our  
PTT product requires you to press the button  
while talking. For this reason we advise against  
using PTT while driving, including with a car kit  
or personal handsfree kit.

Voice Message: This option allows you to  
leave a voicemail instantly. For a message to  
a contact, simply highlight the contact on

1. If you connect your handset with a Specific USB  
Hub on your PC, the above music sync service  
will not work. So we recommend a direct USB  
Connection on your PC rather than HUB.  
A. Check whether the file length you are  
transmitting is not too long.  
2. Once you connect your mobile phone to the  
PC, the phone's screen will display the  
"Connecting as Music Sync..." message. If the  
message does not change to "Connected as  
Music Sync Mode. Do not disconnect during  
transfer.", check if your PC is running Windows  
XP and Windows Media Player 10 or later. If

Media Player 9, please download WMP10 or  
WMP11 by visiting Microsoft site. If your PC is

transferred files will not show in a third party

"Connecting as Music Sync..." message does  
not disappear from the screen after you have  
tried to establish connection three to four  
times, perform one of the following methods  
and try again.  
Be aware that all of the existing data will be  
erased on microSD card if you use the below  
process.  
A. Transmitted a file using Mass Storage, but  
not using Music sync function.  
B. Transmitted a file by directly inserting  
external memory on PC.  
5. When you have transferred files with Music  
Sync feature and you want to delete them  
from your phone, you should connect the  
phone to your PC again with Music Sync to  
delete them. Even if you have deleted files  
transferred with Music Sync feature as shown  
below, delete them again with Music Sync.  
Otherwise you will not be able to transfer files  
identical to the deleted files again.  
A. Follow those steps: settings->reset settings-  
>Clear Memory->memory card.  
B. Format external memory using Mass  
Storage.  
C. Remove external memory from the phone,

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Centre  
for Devices and Radiological Health Consumer  
Update on Mobile Phones.  
Under the law, the FDA does not review the  
safety of radiation-emitting consumer  
products such as wireless phones before  
they can be sold, as it does with new drugs  
or medical devices. However, the agency has  
authority to take action if wireless phones  
are shown to emit radio frequency(RF)  
energy at a level that is hazardous to the  
user. In such a case, the FDA could require  
the manufacturers of wireless phones to  
notify users of the health hazard and to  
repair, replace, or recall the phones so that  
the hazard no longer exists.  
1. Do wireless phones pose a health  
hazard?  
The available scientific evidence does not  
show that any health problems are  
associated with using wireless phones.  
There is no proof, however, that wireless  
phones are absolutely safe. Wireless phones  
emit low levels of radio frequency(RF) energy  
in the microwave range while being used.  
They also emit very low levels of RF when in  
the standby mode. Whereas high levels of  
RF can produce health effects (by heating  
tissue), exposure to low level RF that does  
not produce heating effects causes no  
known adverse health effects. Many studies  
of low level RF exposures have not found  
any biological effects. Some studies have  
suggested that some biological effects may  
occur, but such findings have not been  
confirmed by additional research. In some  
cases, other researchers have had difficulty  
in reproducing those studies, or in

4. What are the results of the research  
done already?  
The research done thus far has produced  
conflicting results, and many studies have  
suffered from flaws in their research  
methods. Animal experiments investigating  
the effects of radio frequency(RF) energy  
exposures characteristic of wireless phones  
have yielded conflicting results that often  
cannot be repeated in other laboratories. A  
few animal studies, however, have  
suggested that low levels of RF could  
accelerate the development of cancer in  
laboratory animals. However, many of the  
studies that showed increased tumor  
development used animals that had been  
genetically engineered or treated with  
cancer causing chemicals so as to be pre-  
disposed to develop cancer in the absence of  
RF exposure. Other studies exposed the  
animals to RF for up to 22 hours per day.  
These conditions are not similar to the  
conditions under which people use wireless

A combination of laboratory studies and  
epidemiological studies of people actually  
using wireless phones would provide some  
of the data that are needed. Lifetime animal  
exposure studies could be completed in a

proof of a cancer promoting effect if one

data that is directly applicable to human  
populations, but 10 or more years follow-up

some health effects, such as cancer. This is  
because the interval between the time of  
exposure to a cancer-causing agent and the  
time tumors develop - if they do- may be  
many, many years. The interpretation of  
epidemiological studies is hampered by  
difficulties in measuring actual RF exposure  
during day-to-day use of wireless phones.  
Many factors affect this measurement, such  
as the angle at which the phone is held, or  
which model of phone is used.  
1996. An influential result of this work has  
been the development of a detailed agenda  
of research needs that has driven the  
establishment of new research programs  
around the world. The project has also  
helped develop a series of public information  
documents on EMF issues. The FDA and the  
Cellular Telecommunications & Internet  
Association (CTIA) have a formal  
Cooperative Research and Development  
Agreement (CRADA) to do research on  
wireless phone safety. The FDA provides the  
scientific oversight, obtaining input from  
experts in government, industry, and  
academic organizations. CTIA-funded  
research is conducted through contracts with  
independent investigators. The initial  
research will include both laboratory studies  
and studies of wireless phone users. The  
CRADA will also include a broad assessment  
of additional research needs in the context  
of the latest research developments around  
the world.  
6. What is the FDA doing to find out more  
about the possible health effects of  
wireless phone RF?  
The FDA is working with the U.S. National  
Toxicology Program and with groups of  
investigators around the world to ensure  
that high priority animal studies are  
conducted to address important questions  
about the effects of exposure to radio  
frequency(RF) energy. The FDA has been a  
leading participant in the World Health  
Organization International Electromagnetic  
Fields (EMF) Project since its inception in

The Institute of Electrical and Electronic  
Engineers (IEEE) is developing a technical  
standard for measuring the radio frequency  
energy (RF) exposure from wireless phones  
and other wireless handsets with the  
participation and leadership of FDA  
scientists and engineers. The standard,  
‘Recommended Practice for Determining the  
Spatial- Peak Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)  
in the Human Body Due to Wireless  
Communications Devices: Experimental  
Techniques,’ sets forth the first consistent  
test methodology for measuring the rate at  
which RF is deposited in the heads of  
wireless phone users. The test method uses  
a tissue-simulating model of the human  
head. Standardized SAR test methodology is  
expected to greatly improve the consistency  
of measurements made at different  
laboratories on the same phone. SAR is the  
measurement of the amount of energy  
absorbed in tissue, either by the whole body  
or a small part of the body. It is measured in  
watts/kg (or milliwatts/g) of matter. This  
measurement is used to determine whether

Since time is a key factor in how much

phone will reduce RF exposure. If you must

phone every day, you could place more  
distance between your body and the source  
of the RF, since the exposure level drops off  
dramatically with distance. For example, you  
could use a headset and carry the wireless  
phone away from your body or use a

wheel of a car, practice good common sense

Carefully read your instruction manual and  
learn to take advantage of valuable features  
most phones offer, including automatic redial  
and memory. Also, work to memorize the  
phone keypad so you can use the speed dial  
function without taking your attention off the

5. Do not take notes or look up phone numbers  
while driving. If you are reading an address  
book or business card, or writing a “to-do”  
list while driving a car, you are not watching  
where you are going. It is common sense.  
Don’t get caught in a dangerous situation  
because you are reading or writing and not  
paying attention to the road or nearby  
vehicles.  
2. When available, use a hands-free device. A

accessories are readily available today.

Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter and  
receiver. It is designed and manufactured not  
to exceed the emission limits for exposure to
