Cable Routing

Proper Frame Sizing  
Standover Height  
Most K2 Bike fra me s a re offe re d in four size s. We de sign our bike s with a s low of a sta ndove r he ight a s possible . Whe n sizing a fra me , a minimum  
of thre e inc he s of c le a ra nc e be twe e n the ride r's c rotc h a nd the top tube of the bic yc le is re quire d. This room is ne e de d due to the une ve n te rra in  
e nc ounte re d whe n riding off roa d. The thre e inc he s should a llow you to hop off of the pe da ls a nd stra ddle the top tube sa fe ly in a pa nic situa tion.

Saddle Height and Position  
You should a djust the he ight of your sa ddle to a c c ommoda te your le g le ngth. Whe n se a te d on the bic yc le in a norma l riding position, your kne e  
should be slightly be nt a t ma ximum e xte nsion (pe da l a t lowe st point). To se t this he ight, sit on the bike a nd pla c e one he e l on a pe da l. With the  
pe da l a t its lowe st point (the down position), you should just be a ble to touc h the pe da l with your he e l.  
Ra ise or lowe r the se a tpost by loose ning the post binde r bolt or using the quic k re le a se a s you would a front or re a r whe e l quic k re le a se . Unde r no  
c irc umsta nc e s should the se a tp ost e xte nd from the fra me b e yond its ”Minimum Inse rtion“ or Ma ximum Exte nsion“ ma rk. On some K2 Bike  
mode ls the re is a ma ximum he ight hole on the ba c k of the se a t tube or se a tma st. Do not e xte nd the se a tpost be yond this hole .

It is a lso possible to a djust the se a t fore a nd a ft, or to a djust the a ngle to e nha nc e individua l c omfort. We sugge st you sta rt with the sa ddle in a  
middle position with the se a tpost c la mp c e nte re d on the se a t ra ils, a nd with the top of the sa ddle le ve l with the ground. Ve ry sma ll c ha nge s to  
sa ddle c a n ha ve a substa ntia l e ffe c t on c omfort a nd pe rforma nc e . Conse que ntly, whe ne ve r ma king c ha nge s to sa ddle position, do so in sma ll

Handlebar Height and Reach

longe r or shorte r ste m with a highe r or lowe r rise . Anothe r option is a diffe re nt ha ndle ba r with a diffe re nt rise . Consult yourde a le r for a ny c ha nge s

Control Position

Lift the front/re a r of the bic yc le off the ground a nd give the tire a sha rp downwa rd blow. The whe e l should fe e l solidly  
mounted.  
Try to rota te the quick re le a se le ve rs counte r clockwise (without rota ting out). A prope rly tighte ne d quick re le a se le ve r will  
not sp in.

Tire Inflation - Are your tires pumped up enough?  
Infla te your tire s to the d e sire d p re ssure within the ra ng e p rinte d on the sid e wa ll. Hig he r p re ssure within the ra ng e p rovid e s le ss rolling  
re sista nce on pa ve me nt or ha rd dirt, a nd a lso give s a ha rde r ride . Lowe r pre ssure within the ra nge provide s improve d tra ction in offroa d conditions  
a nd a softe r,more cushione d ride . K2 Bike re comme nds tha t you use a ha nd pump a nd ga uge to a chie ve prope r tire infla tion. Ga ssta tion pumps/  
ga ugesa re often ina ccura te a nd ca n ea silyoverinfla te tires.  
The re a re two diffe re nt type s of va lve s for bic yc le tube s: sc hra de r a nd pre sta . All K2 Bike models use presta va lves. Sc hra de r va lve s a re sta nda rd  
a utomobile tire va lve s a nd c a n be infla te d with most sta nda rd pumps. Pre sta va lve s a re a na rrowe r va lve tha t re quire the use r to unsc re w the top  
of the va lve be fore infla tion. If you do not ha ve a pump tha t will work with pre sta va lve s, a n a da ptor is a va ila ble from your loc a l de a le r tha t will  
a llow the use of a sta nda rd sc hra de r pump with a pre sta va lve .

Brake Function - Are the brakes working well?

Damping  
Da mping isthe a ction ofcontrolling shocksha ft speed. The ra te a t which a spring compressesa nd extendsca n be controlled bya numberofwa ys.  
Our Nole e n Shoc ks use hydra ulic s to c ontrol the motion of our shoc ks. The re a re two type s of da mping: re bound a nd c ompre ssion.  
The first type of da mping tha t e ffe c ts shoc k pe rforma nc e is rebound da mping. Re bound da mping c ontrols the ra te a t whic h the spring e xte nds  
ba c k to its optimum sa g le ngth. If the spring e xte nds too quic kly, the suspe nsion will e xhibit a bounc yor ove rly live ly” fe e l. Too muc h re bound  
da mping will c a use the shoc k to fe e l de a d“ or unre sponsive ”. The c ha rt be low provide s guide line s to a djusting your shoc k da m ping.  
The se c ond typ e of d a mp ing is c ompre ssion da mping. Comp re ssion d a mp ing a ssists the sp ring to c ontrol the ra te of shoc k c omp re ssion.

it fa ll. (Dont le t swinga rm fa ll into front d e ra ille ur). The swinga rm should d rop with no re sista nc e .
