Music Mode-Setup
& Operation
Music Mode
Introduction
The Music Mode is a new feature on the MR F300 BT handset. The F300 will now
support wireless music streaming using some of the more advanced functionality
®
of Bluetooth wireless technology called A2DP. The Music Mode feature is sup-
ported while the F300 is paired to most of the new Smartphones including iPhone,
Blackberry, Android, Microsoft and Nokia. This wireless music streaming mode is
considered to be more advanced functionality for those already familiar with play-
ing music on their Smartphones.
Setup Music Mode
®
Complete the initial Bluetooth Pairing process to your mobile phone just as you nor-
mally would. Follow the instructions in the F300 manual or the quick start guide for
pairing your mobile phone to the F300. If you have a Smartphone which supports
®
Bluetooth A2DP audio steaming, then music streaming capability will also be setup
at this time. The phone might ask if you want to en-
able “Media Audio”, “Music Streaming” or “A2DP”.
Select YES or check the applicable box on the phone.
Speaker Options
There are two options for playing the music from your phone on your boat using the
F300. The music can be played on the F300’s own internal speaker or it can be
routed out the 3.5mm stereo jack on the F300’s installation cable.
• The streaming audio is played on the F300’s internal speaker by default.
Simply decrease the volume to the lowest
level if you don’t wish it to be played over
the F300’s internal speaker. The internal
speaker volume can be adjusted using the
UP and DOWN buttons on the front of the
F300 handset. This internal speaker might
Red
be sufficient for music in smaller boats that
don’t have a stereo system installed.

Ampere Fuse
• The preferred method is to use the 3.5mm
stereo jack on the F300’s installation cable
to wire the music into the boat stereo’s aux
input jack. The jack on the boat’s stereo
system will likely be either another 3.5mm
stereo OR an RCA jack input. These cables
are not supplied and are available at most
retailers selling marine audio equipment.
