The 10x optical zoom gives you the same range of focal lengths as a 40.7-407mm
lens on a 35mm still camera.
IMAGE STABILIZER
Canon’s superb Image Stabilizer system compensates for camera
shake instantly, even if you’re shooting hand-held, at full telephoto,
or while you’re on the move. Canon’s Image Stabilizer is effective even
while panning and zooming, making your videos look steady and natural.
COLOUR VIEWFINDER AND 2.5” LCD SCREEN
The MVX10i offers you the best of both worlds: a crisp colour viewfinder
and a flexible colour LCD screen.
The 2.5” screen really makes you feel part of the action. Tilt the screen
for high or low-angle shots, or turn it 180 degrees to see yourself
and record at the same time. Once you’ve finished recording, the big,
bright screens offer you a clear view of the results.
SD MEMORY CARD AND MULTIMEDIACARD
The MVX10i includes a built-in slot for an SD Memory Card or a
MultiMediaCard to capture high quality still images. You can also choose
one of the sample images provided (such as picture frames, backgrounds
and animations) and combine it with the live video recording.
SUPER NIGHT MODE AND NIGHT MODE
With the MVX10i’s Super Night Mode and Night Mode you can keep on shooting in colour,
even when the light has faded.
ADVANCED PHOTO FEATURES
To fully complement the camera’s superior video quality,

EXIF PRINT
The MVX10i supports EXIF Print (2.2), a worldwide standard that enhances communication between
digital cameras and printers resulting in realistic colour reproduction.
16:9 WIDESCREEN MODE
Record high-resolution video in the 16:9 format for
playback on widescreen TVs. Unlike systems which simply
record a vertically stretched picture, the MVX10i uses the
full width of the CCD, retaining image quality and providing
a larger horizontal angle of view at the wide end.

DIGITAL EFFECTS, FADERS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS
For a creative touch, a more appealing look, or greater imaging variety, switch on one of
eighteen digital effects including negative picture, art, black & white picture, sepia and mosaic.
MANUAL PICTURE AND AUDIO LEVEL INDICATOR
With its programmed auto exposure the fully-automatic MVX10i gives great results even in
the hands of a novice. Experts who want greater control over their pictures will appreciate
the manual focus, exposure, white balance and shutter speed controls. The MVX10i also
offers audio levels displayed by an audio meter in the viewfinder or LCD screen.
PCM DIGITAL SOUND
The MVX10i offers two digital audio modes, 12 and 16-bit. You can select 16-bit mode for
high quality, CD-equivalent stereo sound, or 12-bit to record four channels.
USB TERMINAL
Transfer digital photos and MPEG-4 movie clips from your SD Memory
Card or MultiMediaCard to your computer quickly and easily. By using
the USB cable and software provided, you can process and organise your
images on your PC.
FIREWIRE / IEEE 1394 / DV TERMINAL (INPUT / OUTPUT)
Connect your MVX10i video camera to your DV-compatible computer and discover a world
of digital, multimedia possibilities. Effortlessly transfer your digital movies to your computer’s
hard drive, edit your scenes, then use them to create movies that everyone will enjoy. You
can also create high-impact Web sites, video e-mail, or interactive CDs and DVDs.
LIGHT GUIDE FLASH
One of the many new technologies featured on the MVX10i is the new built-in Light
Guide Flash - now positioned on the front of the camera. Thanks to Canon's optical
heritage and long experience in camera flash technology this ultra slim yet powerful
flash automatically adds light when shooting in low light conditions.
ANALOGUE LINE-IN/CONVERTER
Send an analogue video signal from a TV, VCR or a DV camera into the MVX10i
and record it onto a DV tape. Alternatively, convert the analogue signal into a
digital signal, for direct transfer to digital video devices or computers equipped
with a DV terminal.
MPEG-4 MOVIE MODE
MPEG-4 video clips with audio are perfect for sending to friends and family via
e-mail, dropping into a presentation, or for posting on the Web - and they’re easy
to record. Using the supplied 8MB SD Memory card, you can record up to two
minutes at 352 x 288 pixels or up to six minutes at 176 x 144 pixels.
DV MESSENGER2 SOFTWARE
With the supplied Canon DV Messenger2 software, you can use your Canon DV
Camera for Internet Video Chat with Microsoft Windows XPs Messenger through
USB or IEEE1394. DV Messenger2 lets you control the zoom and focus of your
DV Camera as well as the zoom and focus of the person’s camera with whom
you are chatting. You can also preview thumbnails, transfer photos, watch and
control the video playback of either camera all from your computer.
VIDEOPRESENTER SOFTWARE
The included VideoPresenter software allows you to quickly
and easily create professional looking home movies using
a DV equipped PC with Windows XP or Windows 2000.
