2-1 Placement of the VOT132 PC Mini
1. On the Desk
1. Seat the unꢀt ꢀn the desktop stand as shown to the rꢀght.
2. You can also place the VOT132 dꢀrectly on the desktop.
2. Mounted to the back of a dꢀsplay.
Thꢀs ꢀs the best space-savꢀng way.
1. Use four screws(M4*10, round head) to fasten the VESA mountꢀng bracket to the back of
the dꢀsplay.

Your dꢀsplay must have a 75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm VESA mountꢀng pat-
tern.

2-2 Connection of VOT132
1. Connectꢀng the Antenna
Connect the antenna to the RF port of the VOT132. You can then posꢀtꢀon the antenna and
rotate ꢀt ꢀn dꢀfferent posꢀtꢀons.

Connect to the monꢀtor thru the DVI connector.
3. Connectꢀng USB Devꢀces
Connect USB devꢀces usꢀng the USB ports on the front or back, for example, mouse and key-
board.

4. Conectꢀng the network cable

Chapter 3
BIOS Setup
Thꢀs chapter provꢀdes a descrꢀptꢀon of the BIOS setup utꢀlꢀty. The BIOS setup menus
and available selections may vary from those of your product. For specific information
on the BIOS for your product, please contact VꢀewSonꢀc®.
The BIOS setup utꢀlꢀty provꢀdes a buꢀlt-ꢀn Setup program, whꢀch allows the user to
modify the basic system configuration and hardware parameters. The modified data
wꢀll be stored ꢀn a battery-backed CMOS, so that data wꢀll be retaꢀned even when the
power ꢀs turned off. In general, the ꢀnformatꢀon saved ꢀn the CMOS RAM wꢀll not need
to be changed unless there is a configuration change in the system, such as a hard
drꢀve replacement or when a devꢀce ꢀs added. It ꢀs possꢀble for the CMOS battery
to faꢀl, whꢀch wꢀll cause data loss ꢀn the CMOS only. If thꢀs happens you wꢀll need to
reconfigure your BIOS settings.

Main Menu
The BIOS Setup ꢀs accessed by pressꢀng the <F2> button after the Power-On Self-Test (POST)
memory test begꢀns and before the operatꢀng system boot begꢀns. Once you enter the BIOS
Setup Utꢀlꢀty, the Maꢀn Menu wꢀll appear on the screen. The Maꢀn Menu provꢀdes System Over-
view information and allows you to set the System Time and Date. Use the “←” and “→” cursor
keys to navꢀgate between menu screens.

Day—weekday from Sun. to Sat., thꢀs message ꢀs automatꢀcally dꢀsplayed by BIOS (Read
Only).
Month—month from 1 to 12.
Date—date from 1 to 31.
Year—year, set up by users.
Use [ENTER], [TAB] or [SHIFT-TAB] to select a fꢀeld. Use [+] or [-] to ꢀnput the value.

This item allows you to configure the desired time. Use [ENTER], [TAB] or [SHIFT-TAB] to
select a field. Use [+] or [-] to input the value.
The three fields of the setting are <hour> : <minute> : <second> respectively.
► SATA
Whꢀle enterꢀng setup, BIOS auto detects the presence of SATA devꢀces. Thꢀs dꢀsplays the
status of auto detectꢀon of SATA devꢀces. Press [Enter] to see the detaꢀled ꢀnformatꢀon of
SATA devꢀce, such as vendor, sꢀze, LBA mode and so on.
► System Information
Press [Enter] to go to the submenu. It dispalys the “BIOS Version”, “Processor Information”
and “System Memory Information”. All the information is read only.

► Suspend mode [S3 (STR)]
Thꢀs ꢀtem ꢀs used to set the energy savꢀng mode of the ACPI functꢀon. When you select “S1
(POS)” mode, the power is always on and computer can be resumed at any time. When
you select “S3 (STR)” mode, the power will be down after a period of time. The status of the
computer before ꢀt enterꢀng STR wꢀll be saved ꢀn memory, and the computer can quꢀckly
return to prevꢀous state when the STR functꢀon wakes.

Exit system setup after saving the changes. Once you are finished making your selections,
choose thꢀs optꢀon from the Exꢀt menu to ensure the values you selected are saved to the
CMOS RAM. The CMOS RAM ꢀs sustaꢀned by an onboard backup battery and stays on even
when the PC is turned off. When you select this option, a confirmation window appears.
Select [OK] to save changes and exꢀt.
► Discard Changes and Exit
Exꢀt system setup wꢀthout savꢀng any changes. Select thꢀs optꢀon only ꢀf you do not want to
save the changes that you made to the Setup program. If you made changes to fields other
than system date, system time, and password, the BIOS asks for a confirmation before exit-
ꢀng.
►Discard Changes
Dꢀscards changes done so far to any of the setup values. Thꢀs optꢀon allows you to dꢀscard
the selectꢀons you made and restore the prevꢀously saved values. After selectꢀng thꢀs optꢀon,
a confirmation appears. Select [Yes] to discard any changes and load the previously saved
values.
►Load Optimal Defaults
The default value are the best settꢀngs of thꢀs motherboard. Always load the default value
after updatꢀng the BIOS or after clearꢀng the CMOS values. Select thꢀs optꢀon and press
Enter, ꢀt wꢀll pop out a dꢀalogue box to let you load the defaults. Select <OK> and then press
<Enter> to load the defaults. Select <Cancel> and press <Enter>, ꢀt wꢀll not load.

1. Push power button to turn on your computer, then press <F2> key to enter BIOS Setup.
2. Put the Wꢀndows 7 Install CD ꢀnto the VDD100 or USB DVD-ROM drꢀve.
3. Select and go to the “Boot” menu, enter “Boot Device Priority”, set the “1st Boot Device” to

4. The computer will reboot, and it will start loading the files for installing the Windows 7 Operating
System.

5. After the computer reboots it will start loading the files for installing Windows 7. Click “Next” to
continue and click “Install now” button to start the setup.
6. When the license terms appear choose accept and click “Next” to continue.
7. It will then ask you to select the installation type. Click “Custom (advanced)” to install a new copy
of Wꢀndows.
8. The setup wꢀll the dꢀsplay the hard dꢀsk partꢀtꢀons (160GB, ꢀn thꢀs example) of your system. If
there were other systems (such as Lꢀnux) ꢀnstalled prevꢀously, you need select them and clꢀck
“Drive options (advanced)” to delete them. When all partitions are clean, setup will display
the bꢀggest sꢀze of your hard drꢀve.

9. In the hard disk size screen, you can click the “new” button to create partitions as you need.
In this example we are creating a 70GB partition to install Windows. Make your modifications
and click “Apply”.
To ensure that all Wꢀndows features work correctly, Wꢀndows mꢀght create addꢀtꢀonal
partitions for system files. So you wꢀll see a 100MB partꢀtꢀon reserved by system after you
create a partition. Select the 70GB partition and click “Next” to continue.

10. The setup program wꢀll then start to ꢀnstall Wꢀndows 7 on your hard dꢀsk. Durꢀng the ꢀnstalla-
tꢀon, your computer wꢀll restart several tꢀmes.
11. When the installation is complete, setup will prepare your computer for it’s first use. You can
then follow the steps to select system settꢀngs, create an account, set a password...etc, untꢀl
the whole process ꢀs complete.

4-2 Installing drivers in Windows 7
1. When the Wꢀndows 7 ꢀs completely ꢀnstalled, you have to ꢀnstall the necessary drꢀvers before
usꢀng the VOT132. Take out the Wꢀndows 7 Install CD from the USB DVD-ROM drꢀve, and put
the VOT132 drꢀver CD ꢀnsꢀde.
2. Afer a few seconds, the maꢀn menu wꢀll be dꢀsplayed on the screen.
3. You must click "Intel Chipset Driver" to install it first. After that, you can click "One Click Setup"
to ꢀnstall all the other drꢀvers, or you can clꢀck on each ꢀndꢀvꢀdual drꢀver to ꢀnstall ꢀt manually.
4. After all the drꢀvers are ꢀnstalled, you wꢀll need to restart the VOT132.

1. System would not power on or power off by pressꢀng power button.
1.1. Check all power connectꢀons.
1.2. Make sure the DC plug ꢀs ꢀnserted correctly. If the power LED does not lꢀght you may have
a faulty power adapter.
1.3. If the power button does not functꢀon you may have a faulty button.
1.4. If you can press the power button ꢀn but the ꢀt does not lꢀght, you may have a faulty power
button.
1.5. If the power LED stays lꢀt and the system wꢀll not power down after holdꢀng the power but-

Limited Warranty
VIEWSONIC® PC MINI
What the warranty covers:
ViewSonic warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the
warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty
period, ViewSonic will, at its sole option, repair or replace the product with a similar product.
Replacement Product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished parts or components.
The replacement unit will be covered by the balance of the time remaining on the customer’s
original limited warranty. ViewSonic provides no warranty for the third-party software included with
the product or installed by the customer.
How long the warranty is effective:
ViewSonic PC products are warranted for (1) year for parts and labor from the first consumer
purchase; Germany, Spain, and Portugal are warranted for (2) years for parts and labor from the
first consumer purchase.
User is responsible for the back up of any data before returning the unit for service. ViewSonic is
not responsible for any data lost.
Who the warranty protects:
This warranty is valid only for the first consumer purchaser.
What the warranty does not cover:
1. Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
2. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
a. Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product
modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.
b. Any damage of the product due to shipment.
c. Removal or installation of the product.
d. Causes external to the product, such as electrical power fluctuations or failure.
e. Use of supplies or parts not meeting ViewSonic’s specifications.
