INTRODUCTION  
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Soothing Ocean Slumbers  
MobileTM learning toy.  
Your child will be lulled to sleep with the VTech® Soothing Ocean  
Slumbers MobileTM. Designed to grow with your child, this 2-in-1 mobile  
will delight your little one from infancy through their toddler years. Your  
newborn will watch and listen in wonder as the colorful ocean animals  
twirl to peaceful music while a calming image is projected onto the  
ceiling. As your baby grows, the mobile arm can be removed as it  
converts to a crib toy and light projector.

Unlock the packaging locks:  
Rotate the packing locks 90 degrees  
counter-clockwise  
Pull out the packing locks.  
GETTING STARTED  
BaTTeRY inSTallaTiOn  
1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.  
2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the  
unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen  
the screw.  
3. Install 4 new ‘AA’ (UM-3/LR6) batteries  
following the diagram inside the battery  
box.  
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the  
screw to secure the battery cover.

BaTTeRY nOTice  
Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.  
Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.  
Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc)  
or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.  
Do not use damaged batteries.  
Insert batteries with the correct polarity.  
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.  
Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.  
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.  
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.  
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.  
Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if  
removable).  
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult  
supervision.  
deMO Tag  
The demo tag should be removed automatically when the product is  
taken out of the packaging. If the demo tag is still in position, please  
remove the plastic strip from the back of the product before placing in  
the crib. This will activate normal play.  
Keep the mobile out of baby’s reach. To avoid entanglement  
injuries, please remove the mobile portion from the crib once baby  
begins sitting or pushing up on all fours.  
Mobile age grade is Birth to 5 months  
The crib mobile is intended for visual stimulation and is not intended  
to be grasped by a child.  
Always attach all provided fasteners (strings, straps, clamps, etc.)  
tightly to a crib or playpen according to the instructions. Check  
frequently. Attach only to cribs with sturdy rails and spindles. Do  
not attach to playpens with mesh walls.

Do not add additional strings or straps to attach to a crib or  
playpen.  
To ensure your child’s safety, the product should be assembled by  
an adult.  
Make sure the crib attachment straps are out of child’s reach.  
When removing the VTech®  
from the crib, please detach the crib attachment straps from the  
Soothing Ocean Slumbers Mobile™  
unit and keep the straps out of child’s reach.  
With the VTech® Soothing Ocean Slumbers Mobile™ safety  
comes first.

1. To attach the dangling ocean animals  
to the mobile, thread the cord from one  
of the dangling ocean animals into the  
slot on the mobile arm (the knot in the  
cord should be above the slot). Rest  
the knot in the hole on the top of the  
mobile arm. Repeat this procedure to  
attach the remaining dangling ocean  
animals.  
2. Attach the bottom of the mobile arm  
into the recessed slot on the top of  
the activity panel. You will hear a click  
when the post is inserted correctly.

3. Position the whale so it is facing into  
the crib. Rest the recessed part of the  
whale along the top crib rail, with the  
crib attachment strap over the crib  
rail. Thread the bottom of the crib  
attachment strap through one of the  
spindles. Buckle the two clips together  
until you hear them click.  
4. Tighten the crib attachment straps so  
they are secured tightly to the crib. Pull  
on the crib attachment strap to tighten  
the hold. To loosen the strap, pull on  
the bottom clip.  
5. Tie the string to the nearest spindle.  
CRIb LIGHT ASSEMbLy  
1. When your child has outgrown the  
mobile portion of the product, you  
can convert the product to a night  
light. Remove the mobile arm from the  
product. Use a small screwdriver to  
press the release button on the back  
of the water spout. While pressing the  
release button, pull up on the mobile  
post.

2. Remove the dangling ocean animals  
from the mobile.  
3. To attach the dangling ocean animals  
to the crib light, thread the knot in the  
cord of one of the dangling ocean  
animals into one of the slots in the  
waves below the whale. Slide the  
cord down so the knot is resting in the  
narrowest part at the bottom of the slot.  
Repeat this procedure to attach the  
remaining dangling ocean animals.

To turn the unit On, slide the On/Off/  
MOde SelecTOR SwiTch to the  
naTURe MOde ( ) or MUSic MOde

) position. To turn the unit Off,  
slide the On/Off/MOde SelecTOR  
SwiTch to the Off position.  
2. TiMe SelecTOR SwiTch  
Slide the TiMe SelecTOR SwiTch  
to the 20, 30 or 40 minute position  
to choose the corresponding time  
setting.

Slide the lighT/MOTOR cOnTROl  
SwiTch to select the desired setting.  
4. VOlUMe cOnTROl  
Press the VOlUMe + BUTTOn to  
increase the volume or press the  
VOlUMe - BUTTOn to reduce the  
volume.  
5. aUTOMaTic ShUT-Off  
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Soothing Ocean Slumbers  
MobileTM will automatically power-down after the selected time has  
ended. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button or  
when the sound sensor detects baby’s cry.  
ACTIVITIES  
1. Slide the on/off/mode selector switch  
to turn the unit on. You will hear the  
music play for the duration of selected  
time setting.  
2. Press the music button to change the  
melody, sing-along song or sound that  
is currently playing.

CARE & MAINTENANCE  
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.  
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat  
source.  
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended  
period of time.  
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit  
to moisture or water.  
TROUbLESHOOTING  
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions,  
please follow these steps:  
1. Please turn the unit Off.  
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.  
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.  
4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to play again.  
5. If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new  
batteries.
