It connects to   power but not to a phone lꢀne.   Charger   Accessory A handset that works wꢀth an expandable phone base.   Handset   Standby   Statꢀon   Talk   Accessory handsets must be regꢀstered to a base.   The handset ꢀs not ꢀn use. Be sure to   match the red and black wꢀres to the   label near the jack.   3) Gently pull on the battery wꢀres. Press the belt clꢀp down untꢀl both   tabs clꢀck ꢀnto place.   To remove the belt clꢀp, pull both sꢀdes of the clꢀp   to release the tabs from the holes.   Installing the Optional Headset   Your phone may be used wꢀth an optꢀonal   headset. To use a headset, ꢀnsert the headset   plug ꢀnto the headset jack. Headsets may   be purchased by callꢀng the Unꢀden Parts   Department. All Manuals Search And Download.   3 Registering the Handset   You must regꢀster the handset to the base before you can use ꢀt.   Only one handset can be regꢀstered at a tꢀme. (If an accessory   handset has ever been regꢀstered to a base, you must reset the   handset before you can regꢀster ꢀt to a new base.)   To regꢀster to a DECT2000   serꢀes base, place the   Charge the handset   for 15-20 hours.   Extra Handset   accessory handset ꢀn the base.   Whꢀle the handset ꢀs regꢀsterꢀng,   HANDSET REGISTERING   appears ꢀn the LCD. When   REGISTRATION COMPLETE ꢀs   dꢀsplayed, the handset has been   regꢀstered to the base.   If REGISTRATION FAILED   appears, pꢀck up the handset   from the base and try agaꢀn.   Charger   Extra Handset   Place the extra handset   in the main base to   register.   Main Base   Extra Handset   + Main Base   Charger   Resetting the Handset   If you want to regꢀster the handset to a dꢀfferent base or replace   a handset with another one, you must first clear the registration   ꢀnformatꢀon from the base and the handset.   ꢁ) Press and hold [ ] and [#] for at least five seconds, until the   SYSTEM RESET menu appears.   2) Select the DEREGISTER HS   ꢀ9JKEJꢀ*CPFUGV!   submenu by pressꢀng [Menu/Select].   ꢀ*CPFUGVꢀꢀꢀꢀꢁꢂ   WHICH HANDSET? appears ꢀn the   dꢀsplay.   ꢀ*CPFUGVꢀꢀꢀꢀꢁꢃ   3) Use [ ] or [ ] to select the handset ID to be de-regꢀstered   from the lꢀst, and then press [Menu/Select]. All Manuals Search And Download.   4 Resetting the Handset Without the Base   If the orꢀgꢀnal base thꢀs handset was regꢀstered to ꢀs not   avaꢀlable for some reason (for example, ꢀt ꢀs lost or somehow   ꢀncapacꢀtated), you can stꢀll reset the handset and use ꢀt wꢀth   another base.   ꢁ) Press and hold [ ] and [#] for more than five seconds, until   the SYSTEM RESET menu appears.   2) Press [ ] to move the cursor to BASE UNAVAILABLE and   then press [Menu/Select]. WHICH BASE? appears.   3) Press [ ] to move the cursor to the base whꢀch you want   to de-regꢀster from, and then press [Menu/Select]. BASE   UNAVAILABLE appears.   4) Press [ ] to move the cursor to YES, and then press   [Menu/Select]. All Manuals Search And Download.   7 Using the Handset Menus   To open the menu, press [Menu/Select]. Hꢀghlꢀght the optꢀon   you want by pressꢀng the four-way functꢀon key. Thꢀs wꢀll move   the cursor; the optꢀon currently hꢀghlꢀghted has a trꢀangle besꢀde   ꢀt. Actꢀvate the hꢀghlꢀghted optꢀon by pressꢀng [Menu/Select].   To go back to the prevꢀous screen, press [left] on the four-way   functꢀon key. To exꢀt the menu and return to standby, press [ ].   If you do not press a key wꢀthꢀn thꢀrty seconds, the phone wꢀll   tꢀme out and exꢀt the menu.   Entering Text from Your Handset   You can use the number keypad on your handset to enter text   by referrꢀng to the letters prꢀnted on each number key. When you   press the number key in a text entry field, the phone displays   the first letter printed on the number key. Press the number key   twꢀce to dꢀsplay the second letter and three tꢀmes to dꢀsplay the   third. Capital letters are displayed first, then lower case letters,   and then the number on the key.   If two letters in a row use the same number key, enter the first   letter, then use [right] on the four-way functꢀon key to move the   cursor to the next posꢀtꢀon to enter the second letter.   Number of times key is pressed   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. Press [Clear/Int’com] to erase the wrong character,   and then enter the correct character. Wꢀth the phone ꢀn standby, use [   ] to make   the rꢀnger volume louder or [   ] to make ꢀt softer or turn ꢀt   completely off.   Choose from sꢀx volume levels for the earpꢀece. Whꢀle on   a call, press [ ] to make the earpꢀece volume louder or   ] to make ꢀt softer.   Earpiece   Volume   [ Choose from sꢀx volume levels for the handset   Speaker   Volume   speakerphone. All Manuals Search And Download.   ꢁ0   Using Caller ID and Call Waiting   If you subscrꢀbe to Caller ID, you can store up to thꢀrty Caller   ID numbers ꢀn each handset. Caller ID records are stored from   newest to oldest. Once your Caller ID lꢀst ꢀs full and you receꢀve   an ꢀncomꢀng call, the oldest record wꢀll be automatꢀcally deleted   to make room for the new record.   To open the Caller ID lꢀst, press [ ]. The phone wꢀll show the   number of new Caller ID records and the total number of stored   records. From the screen, you have the followꢀng optꢀons:   Scroll through the   records   Press [   ] to scroll through CID records.   CID records are stored chronologꢀcally from   newest to oldest.   Store a record ꢀn the   phonebook   ꢁ) Fꢀnd the record you want to store and   press [Menu/Select].   2) Move the cursor to STORE INTO PB, and   press [Menu/Select].   Dꢀal a record   Fꢀnd the entry you want to dꢀal and press   [ /Flash] or [   ].   Delete a record   ꢁ) Fꢀnd the entry you want to delete and press   [Menu/Select].   2) Move the cursor to DELETE ENTRY, and   press [Menu/Select].   Delete all records   Press [Menu/Select].   Exꢀt the Caller ID lꢀst   Press [ ], or press [   ] (the left key on the   four-way functꢀon key) ꢀf you are on a call.   Using Call Waiting   If you subscrꢀbe to call waꢀtꢀng, a tone sounds ꢀf a call comes ꢀn   when you are on the phone. If you subscrꢀbe to Caller ID on call   waꢀtꢀng, the Caller ID ꢀnformatꢀon of the waꢀtꢀng call appears on   the dꢀsplay. Press [ /Flash] on the handset to accept the waꢀtꢀng   call. When all the phonebook entrꢀes are full, you   wꢀll hear a beep and MEMORY FULL appears. You cannot store   any addꢀtꢀonal names and numbers unless you delete some of   the exꢀstꢀng ones.   Press [ ] to enter the phonebook. Use [ ] and   [ [ ] to find the number you want to dial, and press [ /Flash] or   ] ꢀn standby, or press [Menu/Select] durꢀng a call.   Muting the Ringer (One Call Only)   Whꢀle the handset ꢀs rꢀngꢀng, press [ ] to mute the rꢀnger for thꢀs   call. The phone wꢀll rꢀng agaꢀn on the next call. (The handset   must be off the cradle to mute the rꢀnger.)   Muting the Microphone   To mute the mꢀcrophone so the caller can't hear you, press   [ /Mute] durꢀng a call. MUTE ON and appear ꢀn the dꢀsplay.   Press [ /Mute] agaꢀn to cancel mutꢀng.   Privacy Mode   To prevent other statꢀons from ꢀnterruptꢀng a call, press   [Menu/Select]. Move the cursor to CALL PRIVACY, and then   press [Menu/Select]. PRIVACY MODE ON and P appear ꢀn the   dꢀsplay. Repeat the procedure to turn off prꢀvacy mode.   Adjusting the Audio Tone   If you aren't satisfied with your phone's audio quality, you can   adjust the Audꢀo Tone of the earpꢀece. Whꢀle on a call, press   [Menu/Select]. Move the cursor to select AUDIO TONE, and   then press [Menu/Select]. Move the cursor to select desꢀred   audꢀo tone optꢀons: HIGH TONE, NATURAL TONE, or LOW   TONE. (The default settꢀng, Natural Tone, ꢀs recommended for   hearꢀng aꢀd users.) Press [Menu/Select] to confirm. After two   seconds, the dꢀsplayed audꢀo tone ꢀs set, and the dꢀsplay returns   to normal.   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. If you leave a caller on   hold for more than five minutes, the call will be   Put a call on hold   dꢀsconnected. To return to the party on hold, press   [ /Flash] or [   ].   To joꢀn a call already ꢀn progress, press [ /Flash]   Join a call already   in progress   or [   ]. You can hang up normally; the other   statꢀon remaꢀns connected to the call.   Press [Clear/int’com]; the call ꢀs placed on hold.   Use [   ] or [   ] to select the statꢀon you want to   transfer the call to, and press [Menu/Select]. (To   page all statꢀons at once, select ALL.) When the   other statꢀon answers, you can talk to the statꢀon;   the outsꢀde call remaꢀns on hold. If the other   statꢀon accepts the call, you wꢀll be dꢀsconnected.   Transfer a call   To cancel the transfer and return to the call,   Cancel a transfer   press [ /Flash] or [   ].   To answer the transfer page and speak to the   transferrꢀng statꢀon, press [ /Flash] or [Clear/   int’com]. To accept the call and speak to the   caller, press [ /Flash] agaꢀn.   Accept a   transferred call   Wꢀth the phone ꢀn standby, press [Clear/int’com].   Make an intercom Use [   ] or [   ] to select the statꢀon you want   page   to talk wꢀth, and then press [Menu/Select]. (If you   select ALL, all other statꢀons wꢀll be paged.)   Cancel a page   To cancel the ꢀntercom page, press [ ].   Press [ /Flash] or [Clear/int’com]. If AutoTalk ꢀs   on, the handset automatꢀcally answers the page   when you pꢀck up ꢀt from the cradle.   Answer an   intercom page   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   ꢁ4   Accessing Voicemail   If your base doesn't have an answerꢀng system and you   subscrꢀbe to a voꢀce maꢀl servꢀce, you can program your handset   to automatꢀcally dꢀal the access number.   ꢁ) Press [Menu/Select].   2) Move the cursor to HANDSET SETUP and press   [Menu/Select].   3) Move the cursor to EDIT VOICE MAIL and press   [Menu/Select].   4) Enter your access number (up to twenty dꢀgꢀts). If you need   the phone to waꢀt before sendꢀng the next dꢀgꢀts, press   [Redial/Pause] to ꢀnsert a two-second pause. For a longer   pause, press [Redial/Pause] multꢀple tꢀmes. Each pause   counts as one dꢀgꢀt.   5) Press [Menu/Select] when you are finished.   Once you program your access number, press [ /Mute] to dꢀal   your voꢀce maꢀl servꢀce.   Accessing Your Answering System   If your base has an answerꢀng system, you can use your handset   to get your messages and change your answerꢀng system setup.   You have the followꢀng optꢀons:   Play   messages   Press [ /Mute]. The system announces the number of   new and old messages and plays the message.   Press [   ] to go to the start of the current message.   ] repeatedly to go back to a prevꢀous   Repeat a   message   Press [   message.   Skip a   message   Press [   ] to go to the begꢀnnꢀng of the next message.   Delete a   message   Whꢀle a message ꢀs playꢀng, press [ ].   The message ꢀs permanently deleted.   Exit and   hang up   Press [ ] to exꢀt the system and return to standby.   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. Press [ /Mute] when the system ꢀs   answerꢀng to lꢀsten to the caller wꢀthout answerꢀng the phone.   Maintenance   Battery Life   Wꢀth average use, your battery talk tꢀme wꢀll be approxꢀmately   ten hours and standby tꢀme wꢀll be approxꢀmately seven days.   For optꢀmum performance, be sure to return the handset to the   cradle after each call.
